Tried to open a savings account with Streambank and 2 days after the application had been accepted and the account opened, I was still awaiting the bank account number and sort code details to deposit the money. I was informed that the firm used to send out these details was 'updating their records'. As a result, I informed the advisor to cancel my application and that I would open an account with one of their competitors who would be more than happy to accept my savings without ridiculous delays.

They paid incorrect monthly interest into my nominated bank statement. Massive error made by stream bank. They calculated the interest monthly instead of daily and underpaid me. Also when you log into your account you cannot view the monthly interest paid. Also the interest is not paid into the nominated bank account on a fixed date and is paid any day near the end of the month. I have registered a complaint regarding the three points and want the financial ombudsman to look into these issues.

Setting up the account was straight forward and has worked
pretty well. If I was asked to suggest improvement - may be the
bank could communicate a bit more about the status of the account
process - especially if someone is a bit nervous about putting their
money into a new and relatively unknown bank

We have just opened a one year fixed account,I had a couple of queries with the account.
Phoned the customer service number a couple of times and was more than happy with the response time.
The couple of different advisors i spoke to were very helpful and clear.

Unlike other companies that emphasises you will get a response to your questions etc. - Stream Bank respond within 24 hrs. Verbally, your Customer services speak with a clear English voice - which is very helpful to the hard of hearing

we wanted a company that if needed we could speak to a real person. we did need to do this and spoke to very professional people who put us on track very quickly.

Great service throughout

So far so good .
Opening the 1 year fixed account was easy . The online "signing the account application form" was a bit unusual . First time in 24 years of online banking have I done that and not too sure what the point is . I mean , it's purely symbolic as it wasn't my signature .
Monthly interest arrived at my linked account though , as others have pointed out , it didn't state who the payee was .

Not at all displeased so far .
