The Pros: First off, the filament savings is AWESOME! Secondly, the crispness of the prints is great, no bleeding between colors! It is fairly quiet and, so far, handles problems well; it does a decent job of indicating a problem and suggesting fixes. Third, the build area is bigger than my other printers, albeit not by much, which is great. Also, I will mention that the time between ordering the printer and receiving it was amazingly short... thanks! Finally, The Android app is pretty good, as is the Orca-based slicer.

The Cons: It can be a bit hard figuring out what icons on the screen mean, thus the menu is a bit "fun" to navigate. The provided filament is relatively bland, and one reel was wound poorly and jammed, causing the loss of a print. Lastly, so far as we can tell, there is only one choice/size of extruder; more sizes will be nice.

My wife and I use two Flashforge printers (ADM5M & AD5X) and a Bambu P1S. The U1 is a very worthy addition!

Delivery of my U1 was expedient. About a 1 hour process to put together lovingly completed by my husband. Ran through all the calibration and set up with ease. First print was flawless with no errors. Uploaded a 2.5 minute video to my TikTok page. I expect I will have more U1 printers in my future. Fascinating how quickly the toolheads work for color changes. None of my AMS or CFS printers are that fast!

Betrouwbaar, lijkt zelfs goed te printen op een zeer wankele tafel. Het kleuren printen is alleen te vergelijken met andere multiheads want CFS en AMS doen er 20x zo lang over met 100x zoveel afval van goed filament

Fast service I ordered a on a Tuesday night and got it by Friday. That was great but I’ve always been a fan of Snapmaker. I’ve had the J1 for about two years now and the U1 has just made it even better.

There was very cleaar communication on delivery. Not to mention this U1 is amazing!!!!!!

I’m giving snapmaker 4 stars here’s why

I love the machine it’s self. Love the 4 head tool changer. I love The fast head swapping for color changes ect. I own 2 Bambu printers with AMS-2’s and the color changes are less that desirable. Set up and calibration was easy.

Here’s my complaints.

1- Unloading the filament is a bit of a wreck but I get it’s limitations do to the design of the feeders.

2- I wish the mobile app was more user friendly. Definitely way behind from my prior experience with Bambu’s app. I wish there were more choices for ready to print files from pages like Makerworld ect.

3- I wish the accessories like the hood were available way sooner than November so I didn’t have to print a base and buy a tote.

4- Snaporca seems to be on par with other brands. I’m still getting used to it. I don’t really have an opinion one way or another about that.

Overall I am happy with the machine and I’m sure that you guys will continue to find ways to make it better and better over time.

I am a Kickstarter supporter of the Snapmaker U1. After a small initial problem I was very happy with the printer.
Now I ran into a larger problem, not caused by me.
While printing a one filament (Snapmaker Snapspeed PLA black) model I realized after it was finished and the screen was showing 100% that only about 15% had been printed. The rest of the filament (about 17m) had accumulated as a large blob around the toolhead and glued it to the printer frame. Softening the filament with a hairdryer (according to their Wiki) did not work as our hairdryer delivers maybe 80°C.
They suggested a hot gun but advised: “Please take care during the process to avoid burns or damage to surrounding components”. So the customer is supposed to buy a hot gun and at the same time warned that he might damage the printer.
I don’t mind swapping small parts but expecting a customer to undergo repairs that could damage the product is too much IMHO.
In my country the printer has a 2-year warranty which should apply in a case like mine.

I pre-ordered the U1 in early February and couldn't wait to get it. When it came in mid-March, I was completely satisfied with the packing and the simple instructions for assembly. I am very impressed with the four hot-ends that do not require having to swap out filaments to change colors. Mine changes hot-ends in less than 13 seconds compared to 2 minutes for my Bambu P1S. Printing has been great with very little issues of which were mainly my learning curve.
The only issue I have is that I cannot buy parts or accessories and not received them until November. I was wanting to purchase the top cover and the high carbon steel hot-ends but I'm not willing to pay for items that take eight months to receive. Otherwise I would have given SnapMaker five stars.

After spending time with both, the Snapmaker U1 has actually become my go-to over my Creality K2 with dual CFS units. The K2 setup is definitely more powerful on paper, faster and better for complex multi-material jobs, but it also takes more effort to manage and tune.

The U1 just works. It’s quicker to get started, more consistent day-to-day, and I don’t have to think about it as much. For most of my prints, that reliability and simplicity end up mattering more than raw capability. Unless I specifically need the extra features of the K2 + CFS, I find myself reaching for the U1 almost every time.

My only con is that it doesn’t come with the top unit (extra cost) would love to have one for a full review as the open top tends to collect more dust over time
