I do not write negative reviews lightly, but my experience with SingleMuslim.com has been so disgustingly poor that I feel obligated to share it. In my personal experience, SingleMuslim.com provides an exceptionally poor standard of customer care and this has been one of the most infuriating service experiences I have had.

I requested cancellation of my subscription on the App during an extremely difficult time following the diagnosis of Stage 4 Cancer of my older Cousin / Brother who was given a maximum of 3 months to live. I explained that I intended to return in the future as a repeat customer. Despite this, my request was, in my view, disregarded in favour of rigidly relying on technicalities and fleecing me for every penny they could get.

What I found shockingly unacceptable was the clear mismatch between the tone of their responses and their actions. While their emails contained words suggesting sympathy (in one email I had expressly stated that I was not interested in their fake condolences and their Jazak Allah Khairs when there was very clearly no sincerity), these felt entirely hollow and formulaic. There is nothing worse than people trying to act righteous when their sole objective is simply to fleece customers. In my opinion, this amounted to little more than lip service, with no genuine effort to engage with the substance of my situation or act with any degree of fairness or discretion.

The overall impression I was left with is of a platform that appears far more focused on enforcing process and retaining payment than treating customers with fairness, understanding or basic human decency. As a returning customer, that was in my opinion particularly despicable!!!

I will never use this service again. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to think carefully before committing and to consider alternatives such as Muzz, which I have found to be a far more responsive and customer-focused platform.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience on SingleMuslim.

First, a large number of profiles appear to be virtual or inactive. There is no read confirmation, no real engagement, and no indication that many of these accounts are genuine. It strongly feels as if such profiles exist only to attract potential customers who will pay for memberships, rather than to create real marriage opportunities.

Second, in my view the internet is not an appropriate place to search for a life partner in the first place. The small number of seemingly real profiles often react negatively to the smallest details or differences. This raises serious doubts about their readiness for real married life, with all the challenges and tests that Allah (swt) places before people.

Third, many users appear to be looking for sponsorship or a pathway to move to the West, rather than sincerely seeking marriage, family, and shared values. This shifts the platform away from its stated purpose and undermines trust.

Finally, the platform owners introduce restrictive policies that make little sense. For example, users are not even allowed to upload a photo wearing sunglasses. Such rules are excessive and unrealistic — how is someone supposed to consider marriage based on such artificial limitations? It reflects a very impractical approach to something as serious as marriage.

Conclusion:
Overall, this has been a very negative experience. A life partner — someone about whom you know almost nothing — should not be sought on the internet. Traditionally and more reliably, such serious matters are handled through trusted families, community networks, or local mosques (jamaat), where character, background, and intentions are known. Unfortunately, this platform does not reflect those values at all.

They refuse to take down my success story! Its been 15 years since i married and divorced 3 years ago.
I want to move on with my life, but having mine and my ex husbands face plastered all over single muslim and the Internet hasnt helped me move on. I explained my circumstances and seeing as I've helped promote for the last 15 years, you would think the company would be more understanding. I am now looking to take legal action.

Mostly time wasters or people desperately trying to get married to British citizens in order to get to continue to live in the UK.

We were looking for a suitable match for our daughter in this site since July 2025 but no one seems to be genuine or serious so far.

They fraud people they first show you many pictures after you join you wunt see those pictures again all what they have in their page is fake after they took money they will block you and you won't access the app again this app should be report to police how some people can be hide under religion and defraud people

Shameful behaviour.

An absolute scam.
They will take your subscription and then suspend your account without any warning or reason.
Purchased 3 months, after week 1, I got suspended.
They selectively target male users yet allow female to behave inappropriately. Completely unfair and possibly a tactic to manage their gender ratio.

I only signed up for a month, i cancelled my membership with in a few days, but they continued to charge me, when questioned were very rude, they can keep the money they obviously need it more then me. Wont be using it ever again,

Thieves. They shouldn't be using the name 'Muslim' there's nothing Islamic about them. I joined back when they started, life time membership - they promised 'Never pay penny again'. They closed my account said I have to pay again as I didn't login for a year but there was no such terms conditions when I joined. I've issued County Court summons against them.

Scam ..they take your money without permission..scammers

They are liars and crooks. They keep left good users profile for you to want to contact and they immediately ask you to gift a gold membership to that user which intact is for themselves losers, and that person has long left and doesn't exist. Then they send you a notification to tell you the user is online then you go and send messages all unanswered. Only for you to realise the notification is fraud. I am taking them to court for using ISLAM name and shaming us all with their greed.

I have been to SM for over a year and honestly speaking 90% profiles are either fake or managed by their team just to trap people and grab their money. Don't just fall for "ISLAMIC" there is nothing like that. Based on my experience I would say it's a worst ever platform for matrimonial purposes.

All of the reviews praising this platform are fake and paid.

Too expensive, I can't even read messages to see whether it is scam or worth it, I have to subscribe and pay at least USD49 if I want to read messages, could be messages saying only Hi. They block almost everything unless you pay. Of course you can find my account now as I had to delete it, also I did send you direct email. I tried to post my email here but not allowed. again I deleted it. So, if trustpilot wants to remove my review, that's fine, will find more places for reviews as I'm telling the truth, and they're playing smart. Sadly, members don't adhere to guidelines and there are also a lot of muslims who don't know how to interact or what marriage is.
I was a revert (long standing and practicing) and most men are western Asian, many are a certain type, they are either wanting haraam things asking things like can I stay at yours, in your bed make it worth my while coming to meet you, others wanting to talk about you know what during the first conversation (they think reverts are still non muslims), others are passport hunters (claims are rebuked and nothing is investigated as manybe they'll loose the business we have to prove it) and much more.
Some are just rude don't even reply to selaam or commonly men wanting divorcees at least 10 years younger who have no kids or 1.5 kids (.5 is too many eve if you're working and bringing them up yourself) - sadly these are the times we live in and this is a reflection of our muslim community, you can't help it if you create an app people aren't going to drop from the sky as this is what our society is like. There should be more guidelines and maybe they cld use the app as a chance to educate Muslims by making them do a course on good manners and marriage principles before signing up as the mosques don't do much or is the parents or what is it? The company should also investigate complaints thoroughly so that the majority of women don't get an extremely bad experience that they will never forget.

I first joined this website in November 2016 at the age of 34. I had been a member for nearly seven years, and I just did not find a suitable husband on this website, even if I had the benefit of having free membership on the website because I'm a woman. Only a tiny number of men on this website were eligible, but the majority of men on this website are not marriage material.
Some of the men on this website are rude and disrespectful. I reported one man who said rude, sexually inappropriate and violent things to me, but still the staff didn't terminate his membership. There were also photos of men holding glasses of alcohol.
So the problem with Single Muslim is that anybody and everybody can join it, regardless of whether they really are religious or not religious and regardless of whether they really are genuinely practising Muslims or non-practising Muslims. So while I did find some practising Muslims on Single Muslim, I found many non-practising Muslims as well, which I wasn't impressed with. And where even the non-practising Muslim masses are allowed to join Single Muslim, this creates far too many members on this website, so it's stressful going through all those excessive profiles, most of which belong to unsuitable, inelligible
people.
Alright women get to have Single Muslim for free. But better a service you have to pay for but which is a good service than a service you get for free but which is a bad service.
If you are a genuinely practising, religious Muslim and a decent person and you are seeking for a spouse someone who is also a genuinely practising, religious Muslim and a decent person, I would recommend that you join Pure Matrimony. Pure Matrimony is a truly good Muslim marriage website which is ONLY for truly practising and truly religious Muslims, and for Muslims who are decent people. And Pure Matrimony does everything according to the rules of Islam and is 100% Shariah compliant. They vet their members before allowing them to join.
I once went to a Muslim marriage event and in a rotation with one man he told me that he was a member on both Single Muslim and Pure Matrimony, and that the experience he had was that the women on Pure Matrimony were more genuine than the women on Single Muslim. And I too have had the experience that the men on Pure Matrimony are more genuine than the men on Single Muslim. So today I gave up on Single Muslim and closed my account and have now ended my membership on that website.

There's many things I could write about but will concentrate on the use of fake profiles and bots.

Although this is a site run by Muslims, they are a business, need to make money and employ unethical , dishonest tactics to lure you in and keep you on the site.

If you join as a man you have to pay a subscription (women are free apparently).

If you sign up without paying you will be contacted by a number of fake female profiles, sending you messages, these women will all be in their early 30's, once you pay, and respond to them you wont hear back.

The site uses bots which will make it look as if others are viewing your profile and you theirs, after a while you'll be contacted by women who want to know why you have been viewing their profile dozens of times, making you seem like a weirdo or a stalker. This will come as a surprise as you have probably only viewed a profile once if not at all. The site also adds profile likes on your behalf. Sadly this is a tactic common to online sites whose only goal is to make money out of you and the best way they can do that is to keep you on the site, by faking interest and keeping people interacting. Shame on you Single Muslim.
