Great stay at parkdean Sandy Bay!

Having arrived at the Parkdean Naze Marine site at Walton on the Naze today, we encountered an unexpected issue whereby our booking had been transferred to the Valley Park site, at Clacton, without having any knowledge of this.

Chantelle, at the Walton reception, did her very best to correct the issue and to help us. She also made a phone call trying to transfer us back to the Naze Marine site. Unfortunately this wasn't possible due to our booking that was made via the Sun newspaper.

We therefore travelled on to Valley Park, Clacton where Bev, a most incredibly helpful, kind and understanding lady also made a call to try and transfer us back to our original choice at Walton on the Naze. Paying a little bit extra, and with Bev being incredibly successful, we happily returned to Valley Park to begin our mini break away.

All in all, we really cannot thank Bev and Chantelle sincerely enough for their amazing high levels of customer care and service, along with their immense determination to assist us in every way possible. Both lovely ladies even communicated with each other to ensure that accommodation was ready and available for us at our original site.

So, we truly appreciate everything you both did for us! We are extremely grateful for your huge and very kind efforts! Thank you so much!!!

*AVOID buying with Park Dean* our owner experience of Park Dean has been extremely disappointing. We brought a Caravan with Park Dean Skegness 18 months ago. It was moved onto the pitch with internal damage and defects. These still haven’t been resolved after repeated “promises of it’s sorted or getting sorted”. We have been told nothing by lies from the management team. There has been 4 Owner Support Managers in that time underlying a fundamental issue with the site management. They really don’t care once you have agreed a contract with them. Think twice before spending your hard earned money with these people. If I could put 0 stars I would.

My experience with Warmwell Parkdean over the past 13 years have been a very enjoyable, relaxing time. with pleasant views and surroundings. The lodges we have stayed in over the years have always been clean and cosy. The staff have always been cheerful and very helpful. Most enjoyable holidays we have had. Have there been any sightings of the deer this year? It was lovely to see them roaming the park freely and especially with their babies. They are so cute!!!!

My nephew Josh Forrest made a booking with the Ayrshire holiday caravan park, it was for the 21/4/23, unfortunately, he did not take out holiday insurance, he paid £189 for 3 nights, his gran has just died and he obviously cannot go on this date, I called park dean spoke to a lovely girl named Kathleen! she said she would put the holiday on hold and wait for Josh to phone, it is one of those live chats on screen, the advisor said he could not give him his money back, Josh explained he doesn't want the money back, so now it has been cancelled, I telephoned the number that is on the website, the girl was lovely and very helpful, she said to phone head office, I did that, it is an automated system and useless, as you can imagine, there has been a death in the family, the funeral is this week, we just want PARKDEAN to honour the booking to a later date and be more understanding, but I cannot speak to anyone, they say on the line the are 'Obsessed' by keeping the customer happy, I am affraid that in this case it is not true and they could easily honour this and put the money from my nephew josh onto a later date

Booked a "luxury" lodge at Southerness. It was filthy and smelling of urine. Blood/other body fluids on mattresses.
Numerous other issues during stay.
Culminated in 6 year old splitting his head open in the "soft" play.
Written complaint submitted at beginning of November and still waiting on response from Management.

Got there had to wait about over 2 hours as caravan was filthy, so stright away spending money we didn't want to. it hadn't been cleaned. Used condoms on the golf course that I payed extra for. Drug bags in the toilets,bent bed frames rats everywhere broken toilets and broken gas cooker in our caravan. Pay more to take dogs the put us in a caravan that floods outside so another huge stress not needed. The food was just vile. My dog wouldn't eat it. They have 4 showers at the pool but kick everyone out at once after 30 mins. The life guard laughed when a 7 year old went under water. Bowling you get kicked of after a set time so just dont bother if you have little kids. There was a few piles of sick when we arrived... they was still there when we left 4 days later. Tryed to talk to someone about the problems I get egnored my daughter has asked we never go on a caravan holiday again! She 11

Bideford Bay - well done as have had a brilliant holiday , great selection of food and a special shout out to Dean and the entertainment crew who put together such a great Halloween event. Great theming and have had a great time !

Just awful experience of this park.
The lodge we stayed in was a Truo lodge it wasn't anything like the images online when booking, the floor plan was different and it doesn't have a dishwasher. The lodge was supposed to be updated for 2022 but the quality of work is the worst I have ever seen, all the radiators in the lodge where leaking water, the boiler was leaking water, the washing machine sounded like it was taking off, the grouting in the shower has holes in it. Upon entering our premium Lodge the place stunk of curry (this smell never went during our two week stay) the floor had a big sticky patch and the toilet had feces on in. The lodge wasn't very clean with cobwebs everywhere the floors sticky and surfaces sticky. The lodge is the worst lodge I have every stayed in. The park is not what I expected at all, the children's indoor play area was closed, the baby/ toddler pool was closed, the sauna was closed, the jacuzzi was closed very disappointing. The outdoor pirate ship play area is a disgrace it's nothing like the pictures online it needs nocking down there is no slide no climbing wall it has massive weeds growing out of, it was patched up with sheets of mdf has holes in the floors and isn't safe in my opinion my children was really looking forward to the pirate ship as well but I wouldn't let them play on it. There are two more parks and both are in a state of disrepair and need updating and tidying up weeds growing all over the place. I raised my concerns to reception and explained I believe I was mis-sold a holiday on the basis the site and lodge is nothing like the online pictures and videos.
All in all the place is a massive let down and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for the money I paid I feel completely ripped of and won't be staying at a park dean resort again what they advertise and what they deliver and nothing alike.

Will never book with Parkdean again, have been a loyal customer for nearly 14 years, taking my children for a break virtually every year. Originally booked a break over xmas, I received an e-mail in August just saying they have cancelled my holiday as they have decided to upgrade the park. Not exactly ideal when you generally organise a xmas break a year in advance and they give me three months notice. I had to call to try and get on another park as I had booked and paid for additional hotels on the way. I ended up having to pay an additional £300 to get a similar accommodation at an alternative location. I was due to pay the balance this week but due to a health issue we missed the payment day. We phoned the following day to be told they had cancelled the holiday, when I explained and wanted to pay the balance they offered me my holiday but with a day less and over a £100 more. It was like talking to someone from a comedy sketch show. Just not bothered or interested, appalling customer service. All they kept saying was there is nothing they can do. Used to be a great company to deal with, not any more. Avoid this company and look elsewhere.

St Margarets Bay - stayed recently in the Hotel that they have on site. Reception ladies very friendly and told us about the facilties, restaurant etc. We had 2 rooms with inter connecting doors. These were fine, a little tired in the bathrooms but more than adequate for our needs. Tea coffee facilities were supplied and housekeeping kept them replenished each day. Only had breakfast in the restaurant but again this was fine. My only gripe was that the doors to the bedroom rooms were heavy so very "slammy" but not soundproofed and people coming back to the neighbouring rooms at 12.40am was very disturbing. "QUIET" signs should be placed in the corridors for all to see and adhere to after a certain time at night.

Parkdean Bideford Bay

Arrived on site and greeted by friendly staff and give directions to apartment. We had had an awful experience with Pontins the week before and had left 20 mins after we arrived, so we opened the door with a little trepidation. WONDERFUL, clean modern well equipped as good as any decent hotel room in fact better. Over the holiday the staff were pleasant and friendly and very helpful. The food was to a high standard and selection is what you would expect with decent size portions. The complex was clean and well looked after, we were sad when our short stay ended, we would fully recommend and will go back again ourselves. Thank you. Not to spoil the rating but parking is a little limited around apartments but that is being picky. More

Warning about Parkdean Resorts holiday insurance.
Read the small print before adding insurance to your holiday booking. We love Parkdean and have stayed at several of their resorts and have always added insurance due to my wife's worsening health. It used to cost £20, but like everything, it now costs £25. We were due to return to Heacham beach for another week's stay but had to cancel last minute. The problem is that the insurance company wants a letter from our GP, but they no longer issue such letters as it's classed as "private work". They obviously no longer need the money. How the heck can you claim if you can't get a letter from your GP?

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I lodged a complaint with ParkDean via their website after arriving at our acommodation at Newquay last month to find door not sealed on arrival, incorrect key left to lock door, no hairdryer despite being advertised and being fobbed off daily by on-site about receiving one. No indoor pool on site as advertised. Activities over-priced and poor value for money. I could go on! Advised by email by customer services team I would have a response within 10 days. 3 weeks later, 5 emails to customer relations (no replies whatsoever!) and countless facebook messages to customer services team who keep telling me to email customer relations and still no further forward. After sales customer service is even worse than the onsite customer service. Never ever again will I book with Parkdean and only wished I had googled them before booking.

Iv always had a good experience with Parkdean every year but this year we thought we would try another site big mistake the site was very clean and well looked after more than I can say for the chalet.
The chalet was filthy dead flies squashed on all the blinds a dirty plaster on floor from other guests rusty and broken utensils no broom to sweep missing blinds at the door broken shower broken toilet roll holder the sliding door on the bedrooms were ridiculous overall very poor unfortunately.

Traveled 4and half hours for a holiday which was booked and paid well in advance, only to be turned away with no place to stop and no holiday, my family and I was devastated staff wouldn’t help and still not got all my money back despite having a letter that it was there fault and I would get a full refund for there mistake.

Just to confirm it as be 14 days and still not received all my money back even after several phone calls

Just returned from Summerfields holiday park in Great Yarmouth. It was exactly what we wanted and expected (booked for 4 adults and 3 young children). We stayed in a 3 bedroom maisonette. It was spacious, tidy, plenty of wardrobe space, shower was great, water hot. Could do with some extra kitchen utensils. We spent most days out at the beach and local attractions which is what we wanted to do, but we saw other activities going on in the park. There is a bus into Yarmouth directly outside the accommodation. We attended the night time entertainment on site most nights. The kids loved seeing Sparky & Sparkle (the mascots), playing on the park and arcade. They do a childrens disco, family fun and bingo every night as well as the entertainment acts later on. We also had a go at the crazy golf which was fun. The swimming pool was busy, but good for the children. Great for families with younger children.

Just returned from parkdean Newquay and had a great holiday!
Had 82 paddock as previous years and couldn’t really fault it. Could have been cleaner but I sorted it wasn’t a biggy!
2 teenagers and they had plenty to do.
Mat who kept them busy with activities to josh, Brad and Phil helping to keep us hydrated 😂 table 107 haha
To Harry in kitchen making their desserts and Chelsea who sorted them from chippy to pizza!! You guys really made it a relaxing holiday for us and we thank you!

Booked a “luxury” lodge and early check in for a short break. So, arrived at correct time, sticker stating on the lodge it was ready for us. When we walked in it immediately went south. The kitchen sink still had food in it, drawers had old sweets in them, my kids bedroom covers were sticky, clumps of hair and food behind the doors, razor disposables in the bathroom, double bed covers with sticky spots all over them, showers caked in old soap and mould, and old USED plasters left on floor.I made several attempts to speak to someone however there is no one senior on site at all I assume as it’s day two and the person I have been advised to wait for has still not made contact. I had a cleaner eventually show up at 5pm and left at 7pm. Someone came with him and agreed it was beyond sub par and that the cleaning is not checked and that some of the current staff need serious training. We had no towels on arrival it took 4 requests but in the night 36 hand towels were left for us? Food, best bet is to bring your own or catch a rabbit as shop has sweet FA even first thing in the morning. The restaurant has more items unavailable than available, the only starters yesterday were hummus or bread and butter. This is not even standard let alone luxury, general staff provide lip service but nothing else and as I say unless you want to just cover the issues repeatedly with reception nothing will change . I don’t review normally however this is bad, really bad and to be honest waiting to resolve all these issues with someone leaves a bit of free time. In short do not come and if you do never waste any extra expense on their so called luxury lodges. I won’t let this lie and as I am still here let’s see what’s next!

Update - the below is. Standard response however their team have been “investigating” for over two weeks and other than auto generated responses nothing has been received!

Where do I begin? Caravan was not habitable although we managed to stay 2 nights purely on the fact we were out early and back very late. We complained to reception who sent over a manager who said he was disgusted, he sent for a cleaning team manager who came over and said even with a dream team cleaning crew they could never get the caravan into a standard where it could be let. We went back to the reception who told us they had received communication about the poor state of the caravan but they had no caravans free to swop us too. So we were given an email to complain to (manager off with covid).
Surprisingly we received an email to say that the staff's recollection of the conversations we had were not reflective of our own. I am looking for a site that allows photographs because they speak more than words ever could. They offered us a disgraceful settlement fee which was sent to a disused account (I explained I had changed banks).
We complained to head office, who emailed to say they agreed with the Looe caravan parks decision and they would do nothing else.
Avoid anything to do with this company and it's sites if this experience is anything to go by (we were at the Looe site)
Just received a reply from Parkdean - completely ignoring my comments and saying it was resolved when it wasn't. Hoping I will be back, not in a lifetime of Sundays
