We’re really sorry to hear your child has had a frustrating experience with the new update - that’s never what we want. The latest update has a few new features available such as customisation like the option of extra time for children but to make it simple, we have added tooltips on every field to guide players as they go. There’s also step-by-step instructions with screenshots in the app and on our website. Most players in our latest user survey found the setup process very easy, but we know change can take a minute to get used to. There’s also a short “How to Play” video that walks through setup clearly - it’s worth a quick watch.

We’re really sorry to hear you’ve had trouble getting the app to run smoothly - we know that can be frustrating, especially when you’ve enjoyed the game before. To reassure you, Outsmarted isn’t limited to only the latest iPhones. It’s compatible with 64-bit Android phones and tablets running Android 10+ (generally devices made in 2019 or later), Apple devices with iOS 16+ (compatible with iPhone 8 and newer, released in 2017), and Windows 11 laptops. That covers the vast majority of everyday home devices, not just top-end models. Because the game includes live content, songs, videos and real-time remote play, a device with at least 4 GB of RAM will help it run smoothly, which most phones and tablets released in the past 5–6 years already have. If something isn’t working as expected, our technical support team is available 365 days a year via the button in the app, and we open 8am until 10pm with an average response time of 23 minutes, and we’re always happy to help get you back up and running quickly as we’d love you to get back to enjoying Outsmarted!

We’re really sorry to hear you’re not enjoying the new version as much - we know change can feel frustrating when you’ve loved something for a long time and things are different.

This update was a major upgrade we invested considerably in to make the game far more dynamic and immersive, to give players more for absolutely no extra cost. The changes were driven by years of customer feedback and testing, and while not every change will land well with every player, more than 89% of testers told us the the new format and was “massively” or “considerably” more fun with less than 1% preferring the old format, which is why we made the decision to move forward with it.

The new Ring Questions are designed to be more engaging than a basic multiple-choice format, with new styles like matching pairs, like “can you match the director to the movie?” or picking correct options, “Which six of these were characters in Harry Potter?”. This offers something different to standard mutliple choice questions.

If you’re finding them a bit frusrating, the good news is the game is very customisable - you can add extra time for any player during setup, you can add more lifelines (each player can have up to 20 depending what you choose), and if our data shows that too many people are getting any given question wrong, we will edit it to make it a bit easier to ensure it’s always balanced.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We’re really sorry to hear the update hasn’t met your expectations - that’s never the experience we want our players to have. The changes were based on player surveys and in-person testing, so the intention was very much to deliver on what players told us they wanted.

We’d love to help with the issues you’ve run into. Starting a game and selecting categories works almost the same as before, but now each option has a tool tip with explanations. You’ll also find a How to Play video and step-by-step instructions both in the app and on our website. We’ve also added features requested by players, such as the ability to restart a game with the same settings, or have the app pick random categories for you so the process while a little different, should now be much easier.

There are still six rings to collect, though you can choose a shorter game if you’d prefer fewer. If you want the full six, just select the longer game option at the start.

If the game ever crashes or your device loses power, it should reopen where you left off. If that didn’t happen, please contact us with your license key and we’ll investigate right away. Our support team is available 7 days a week (8am–10pm UK time), with an average response time of 23 minutes. You can reach us via the website or the support button in the app.

We hope you’ll give the new version another try as we had 900 players test it before it was released and all of them scored it 5 stars so we hope the new features they loved will be ones you will also enjoy - and please know our team is always here to help if you have any questions.

Hartelijk dank voor je feedback. Het spijt ons enorm te horen dat je teleurgesteld bent door de recente update. Dat is nooit de ervaring die we onze spelers willen bieden.

De update werd uitgebracht om een ​​aantal spannende nieuwe functies te introduceren en onze Golden Ticket-campagne te ondersteunen, waarvoor we de app moesten vernieuwen. Gisteren is er nog een update uitgebracht. Heb je je app al bijgewerkt?
