A great family game - don’t be put off
The mixed reviews made me hesitate, but I am really glad that I went ahead. This has been a hit with the family with ages 8 to 82. The ability to select the categories and provide younger players with more assists and time means that the playing field is much more level. In fact it caused delight amongst the kids that the strongest quizzer (me!) came last three times in a row.
The kids insisted on joining with devices and they do have a tendency to drop out periodically but this may be the device locking and reconnection is swift.
My one criticism is that it is often hard to see the difference between kids’ questions and adult or teen ones.
From a gameplay perspective (for feedback purposes) there should be the ability to get out of a ring question if you realise that you are useless at the subject - getting 5 successive music questions wrong is a little boring, however funny your 8 year old finds it to watch!!
Overall, I rarely write reviews but think it is important for people to know how good this game is given the other critical reviews.

We also completely agree with you on the ring question point. Getting stuck in a category you’re clearly not strong in isn’t ideal gameplay, and this is something we’re already planning to change in an upcoming update very soon so watch this space!

Bought this game for a pre Xmas party
Bought this game for a pre Xmas party, had so much trouble getting it set up, played for a bit, but questions were sometimes so difficult wasn’t suitable for all ages playing.
Tried to play again on Boxing Day & gave up in the end as couldn’t even get past the loading it up was non existent!!!

If the game wasn’t loading at all on Boxing Day, that’s not normal behaviour, and we’d really encourage you to contact our support team so we can look into why that happened. If players are being dropped and can’t rejoin, we’d really like you to get in touch so we can diagnose exactly why that’s happening. The easiest way is to tap the Support button inside the app if you notice unusual behaviour. That sends us technical logs, which lets our team see the precise cause rather than guess.
In most cases, this type of issue is caused by a momentary drop or instability in the internet connection. You would not notice that on most online activities (which buffer) but Outsmarted runs live, much like a Zoom call, so even brief signal drops can interrupt a session and that can be resolved with tech support.
Our technical support is available 7 days a week, and we’re happy to look into it properly and help get things running smoothly.

Ansich wäre es ein sehr gutes Spiel wenn nicht ständig Verbindungsprobleme auftreten würden. Beim Spiel mit min. 2 Geräten im gleichen W-LAN bleibt meist eine App im Verlauf des Spieles hängen. Ob Hauptgerät oder Nebengeräte. Was auch vorkam das am Hauptgerät der Ring gewertet wurde und auf dem Nebengerät nicht. Wenn ich mir jetzt ausmale mit anderen Spielern zu spielen die an unterschiedlichen Standorten sind und dann ein Gerät nicht den aktuellen Spielfortschritt anzeigt, brauche ich nicht mal anfangen. Nervt extrem, da man für diesen doch hohen Preis (50€) bei weitem mehr Qualität erwartet. Werde es ziemlich sicher wieder zurück geben, ist extrem Schade da es ein Weihnachtsgeschenk war.

Outsmarted runs on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, and Windows PCs, using iOS, Android, or Windows 11. The minimum requirements are an active internet connection, iOS 16 or later, Android 10 or later (64-bit devices only), Windows 11 or later, and at least 4GB of real RAM (8GB recommended).
In the vast majority of cases, crashes happen because the game is being played on significantly older or entry-level tablets that simply weren’t designed to handle demanding, live-connected games like Outsmarted.

Idee is leuk maar…
App op je telefoon heeft een slechte interface. Tekst is veel te klein. Tijd uitzetten werkt niet. Plaatje zorgt vaak voorverwarring (want misleidend) en neemt veel ruimte in beslag. Ik heb dit spel al een 10x gespeeld. Alle vragen die ik goed had waren gegokt. Echt jammer want het idee is echt goed.

Absolute garbage
Absolute garbage. Allows you to set up the game and then crashes as soon as somebody tries to take a turn. This is a one year old tablet and then a current phone. Just how is this so bad? Kids in tears. Cheers guys.
Edit: Tablet was Lenovo Tab M10. Phone was Pixel 8. Both devices allowed you to register, begin to start game, then as first team name starts to appear app force quits. Looked like out of memory issue. Closed everything and rebooted devices. Same. Eventually got it to run on mum's Pixel 10. But be aware that the device requirements for this game are sky high. If you or your kids have devices even a few years old it won't work.

What you’re describing isn’t consistent with the game’s normal performance. More than a million players successfully completed a game of Outsmarted yesterday, across a wide range of tablets and phones, including devices older than the ones you mention with no issues.
When a game crashes there is a reason, and we have a technical team available.

Not the best first experience
The game was set to the correct difficulties for the children (junior / teen/ adult) but the kids were getting questions asking about Palestine and Shakespeare and we were getting asked about Taylor swift and skibidi toilet. Seemed back to front. Also players kept being disconnected and the videos to explain the rules need a lot of work as we were still confused on how to move the pieces. Kids got bored as couldn’t answer any questions correct. Being able to take someone out of the game when they have decided to quit would be a good feature. Not the best experience!! We will have another go though

Das beste Spiel ever!
Mit jetzt 66 Jahren ist das das geilste Spiel, das ich je kennenlernen durfte! Es hat Suchtpotential. 😁
Man kann es mit echten Spielfiguren und echtem Spielbrett spielen; man kann es aber auch komplett digital (einschließlich virtuellem Spielbrett) spielen. Dabei hat jeder entweder sein eigenes Smartphone/Tablet, oder man teilt sich ein Tablet.
Noch cooler ist es, wenn man den Screen auf dem Fernseher wiedergibt (mirroring).
Habe heute gleich ein zusätzliches Kategorienpaket gekauft.
Wir können gar nicht mehr aufhören zu spielen. 😂

Outsmarted is not a linear board game. Movement is intentionally flexible and explained clearly in the rules. You move in the direction you want so you can collect rings on the topics that interest you.
The companion app holds a 4.8 out of 5 rating on both app stores indicating how solid it is. In the vast majority of cases, repeated crashes are caused by unsupported or low-spec devices, which we’re always happy to help identify and troubleshoot for any of our 5 million registered players.

False Advertising or a Scam, you decide
No idea what the game is like but the company are terrible.
Right now if you go on the site it will tell you free next day delivery, except that's a total lie and they know it (so it's not an error or mistake)
I ordered on the 21st but as it was fairly late in the day i figured it would get sent on the 22nd for delivery on the 23rd because let's be real that's how "next day" works
By late on the 22nd I'd not received a despatch notification so I emailed for help at which point they admitted they had no stock. I asked them why the website still said "next day delivery" and allowed people to order thinking they'd get it next day and they simply stopped replying.
Even if you give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they didn't know they had no stock until the 22nd that still means they've been guilty of false advertising since then and have been selling the product falsely from that point on. There's no mistake, no error because that would imply they've made effort to correct it, but they haven't, it's a scam plain and simple.
Avoid this company!

We strongly disagree with this characterisation.
At no point did we state that we had “no stock.” What we explained was that stock was being moved between fulfilment locations. This is standard retail logistics. Our fulfilment partner operates warehouses across the country, and when demand is exceptionally high, stock must be reallocated.
When next-day delivery is shown on our website, it means the order is booked on a next-day courier service (which we provide free of charge). As with all retailers, this is not a guaranteed delivery date, particularly during the Christmas period, when courier networks experience widespread delays.
Regarding communication, our small support team handled an exceptionally high volume of enquiries in the final days before Christmas. Despite this, when you contacted us at 6:56pm, we replied at 7:11pm the same evening with a polite and informative response, including the option to cancel your order and receive a full refund if you did not wish to wait.
Subsequent messages from you accused us of operating a “scam” and engaging in “disgusting little tricks.” At that point, the communication became accusatory rather than constructive, despite us having already provided clear and reasonable options for you. Our staff are not expected to engage with that type of language, and we believe most readers would agree this is a fair boundary.
The situation itself concerns a board game ordered shortly before Christmas that has experienced a delivery delay. While frustration at this time of year is understandable, it does not equate to dishonest practice.
Outsmarted is a well-established product with hundreds of thousands of customers and consistently high ratings across major platforms.

Looked great. Loads of positive comments on the reviews. Next day delivery. ordered on 21st I though great be here by Xmas. But no. No date set until I checked today on 23rd Dec. Arrival 27th Dec. No good to me. Since seen other reviews stating it has in app purchases at £2.50 a game. Delivery is poor and on thus point I more than agree. Avoid.

When next-day delivery is selected, the order is dispatched using a next-day courier service. As with all retailers, delivery times cannot be guaranteed during the Christmas period, when courier networks are operating at full capacity.
While a late arrival is understandably frustrating, Outsmarted can still be enjoyed once it arrives. If it arrives later than needed and you no longer wish to keep it, our standard returns process remains available.
Regarding in-app purchases, for clarity of those reading - Outsmarted is an expandable game. The base game includes a massive 10,000 questions across a wide range of topics, which is significantly more content than most comparable games. These are also updated free of charge with thousands of new, free questions every year.
Additional question category packs on more niche topics are available from the Question Store for purchase. These are entirely optional and our players love that they have the option to expand and personalise the game to their special interests.

Item never arrived, next day delivery falsely advertised
Ordered this item on 21/12… outsmarted website advertised free next day delivery and it stated most items sent out same day (mon-sat ordered before 1pm) and its sold out everywhere else so i thought perfect il order it as they seem really ‘on it’ however its now 23/12, website shows it still has not even be shipped, website advertises responses take a few hours, its been 17+ hours so far and no response despite me reaching out twice.
I guess this is not coming in time for xmas?! Or at all?!
Website should not be advertising next day delivery if they cannot fulfil this! Stop taking orders if u cant keep up with demand!! Now im £30 down and no game for christmas!!!!

We understand how disappointing it is when a Christmas delivery doesn’t arrive as expected, especially when it’s intended as a gift.
When next-day delivery is selected, the order is dispatched using a next-day courier service but next day delivery is not guaranteed. Delays can happen, particularly at Christmas.
Our customer support team is normally able to respond within 15 minutes to one hour with a real person which we are really proud of. In the days leading up to Christmas, enquiry volumes increase by around 100 x, and response times are temporarily extended to 24–48 hours for that reason.
While a delayed delivery is understandably frustrating, it doesn’t affect your ability to enjoy the game once it arrives. If it arrives later than hoped and you no longer wish to keep it, our standard returns process remains available.

Also wir können dieses Spiel nicht weiterempfehlen!! Verstehen diesen Hyper darum überhaupt nicht und schon gar nicht die ganzen positiven Bewertungen davon haben wir uns nötigen lassen dieses zu kaufen. Habens zurückgeschickt.
Erstmal dort die Vorbereitung ziemlich lange ziemlich kompliziertes ganze einzurichten und im Endeffekt sitzt nachher jeder mit seinem Handy davor und wozu das Spielbrett und figuren gebraucht werden.... keine Ahnung. Es ist eigentlich ein reines Handyspiel. Hat uns in keinster Weise abgeholt, da ist ja jedes Wer wird Millionär oder trivial pursuit spannender

You contacted us on 19 December and our team responded promptly to multiple messages on the same day. During those exchanges, we followed the appropriate process with due care: confirming delivery details, checking the address, liaising with the courier, and confirming that the parcel was already in transit. You were kept informed throughout. This was handled directly by our customer services manager during one of the busiest retail periods of the year.
During this correspondence, you requested that we bypass this process and send replacements via next-day delivery immediately. You also stated that you would post on Trustpilot, Google Reviews, social media, and contact Trading Standards.
Unfortunately, it is not standard practice for any retailer to resend an order before checks have been completed on the original shipment. In any event, a guaranteed next-day replacement service was not available at that time, with delivery times to your location estimated at 4–7 days, meaning a replacement would have been extremely unlikely to arrive any sooner.
We appreciate how stressful Christmas deliveries can be, but we did follow the correct process and acted appropriately throughout. We are sorry your order did not arrive in time, and you have been refunded.

Purchased this item on the 27th November as a Christmas gift. Something a little bit different. Delivery was very late so I assumed Evri was delivering it. Contacted them on the 20th December to be told it’s been lost in transit and they couldn’t guarantee delivery before Christmas, Extremely disappointed with the service I’ve received. You would assume they would ensure that it was delivered before Christmas as I had ordered so far in advance! This wasn’t the case ! After reading the reviews it looks like I might have dodged a bullet!

Brought the family together (37,35,10,7…
Brought the family together (37,35,10,7 years old). Rather than the kids on their tablets in their rooms. Was fun and easy enough to set up.
If not already a feature, maybe worth capping the amount of turns one player can have, as we have some smart cookies who hogged the questions and gained rings without others getting a turn.

We are so happy to hear you are enjoying Outsmarted! As a heads up, if you select “timed turns” during setup, it does actually cap the length of each players turn to between 60 seconds and 2 minutes (depending on the speed you choose) and this stops clever clogs from hogging the limelight!

Service après-vente déplorable, j'ai acheté le jeu deux fois pour l'avoir, car mauvaise adresse a la commande, signalé dans les cinq minutes, mais sois disant impossible de modifier auprès du transporteur, de l'escroquerie. le jeux est un copié collé d'un trivial poursuit, sauf que c'est pas des Camembert mais des anneaux. le côté utilisation du téléphone est bien foutu. Le jeu est bien foutu. Le SAV est une mascarade. »
