My first encounter with OGAWA
I purchased our OGAWA Master Drive AI Massage Chair on 10-31-2022. Less than 24 hours later, I discovered the price dropped and they had added in the extended warranty which I really contemplated initially but the cost for it in my opinion was too high. My heart sank. After a 2-month extensive search and review of options, reading through countless customer reviews and opinions, calls to various other companies, advice from others who purchased their chairs elsewhere and still more researching, we finally decided that Ogawa was the one for us. I couldn't believe it that I made our purchase just a few hours too soon before they were to offer a great deal. I immediately contacted the company. WOW! I actually talked to a real person. This company without hesitation, apologized for this chain of events and I was immediately refunded the difference in price and granted the extended warranty. They even followed up with a confirmation e-mail too.
Fast forward two months later: Our chair had arrived within a few days as promised, on time, very well packaged and with very precise and clear instructions for assembly. Unlike other massage chairs you read about, this chair can easily be assembled by 1 person, but the base is quite heavy. I'd advise having 2 people to help get the base carried to where you want to have it. From there, just follow the instructions which are clearly described and explained. The only difficulty I had was in separating the 2 side boards. They are fitted together really tight and I was fearful of pulling them apart too hard and cracking them. I putzed with this piece quite long. I think it would have been best if maybe they did not come already fully adjoined. The zippers on the seat covers can be tricky but manageable. I reviewed a few YouTube videos on assembly along the way and those helped a great deal too. WE LOVE THIS CHAIR! It does everything it claims it can do. Thus far, it has proven to us that we definitely made the best decision on purchasing this brand of chair. It is worth the investment. Our research paid off. Ogawa, We Thank You!
Worth Every Penny
Sarah with Ogawa Support was fantastic. Responded to emails quickly, got me a discount that essentially paid for the white glove installation. She also amended my order after I ordered the wrong color.
I was not on site for delivery, but was told it and the installation went flawlessly.
As for the chair... WOW! Once you sit down, you do not want to get up- if you manage to stay awake!

The ordering process was very easy, the sales person was really friendly and he helped me a lot by explaining the difference between the different brands that I was looking into. However I am still waiting for my shipment, because there’s a delay and so I had to reschedule sometime next week. So I think Shipping ship be improved. But I am looking forward to the day I receive my product

Its hard to believe all the reviews here are 100% legit.
I had problem from the delivery. There was extra $200 for in home assembling option. I chose that and scheduled for Fri. The company didnt even call me and not showed up so I called them almost the end of the day and they said they forgot to put me on a schedule. I waited and asked mom to stay at home for mw to receive the chair for nothing. They promised to deliver on Mon but at the end of the day they called and said the delivery guy over worked that day and he is too tired to deliver my chair as they were short on delivery workers that day. They made me wait 2 extra hrs to let mw know if they can make it or not after waiting all day just to find out he cant come. They came on Tuesday. My husband came home sick so I was taking care of him while they were moving the chair and found out they used dolly without putting any protection on the floor that it left a mark on my brand new floor.
I used the massage chair and was very shocked how strong the hip air bag massage squeezed my hip. It was to the point where I felt like it crushed me and i yelled. After that, my hip and back are injured and in pain visiting Doctors. I didnt have that problem before. I spent $3400 just to be in great stress and to be injured wasting time and money on Dr. Visits.
I told Ogawa how abnormal this was but they didnt send someone to check if anything is defective. The roller sometimes pops up only on one side when massaging the butt and only hits one aide which is very painful and dangerous. My chair seems like a bad defective chair but they think its not a problem.
I had Brookstone massage chair and never had any issues with massages and regret buying this brand.
They only refunded me $100 partial refund for delivery issue and that is it.
I would look elsewhere to purchase a massage chair.

Incredible experience with Rick on the phone. I had questions before my purchase. He answered all of those plus some I didn't even think to ask. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the the product he sells. If the delivery and chair is half as good as the experience with Rick, I'll call it a win all the way around.

I spoke with Rick several times, prior to making a purchase. He was so personable and pleasant to deal with and super helpful and patient with me, answering all of my questions. When he told me that I would receive an email about my inquiry, it arrived to my inbox within minutes. My interactions with Rick/Ogawa World USA have been the best customer service experience that I have ever experienced.
