The worst moving experience I've ever endured.

The first moving company they sent were unprofessional and seemingly unqualified.

Three of the four movers arrived 40 minutes after we were told they would arrive.

Within ten minutes of starting the owner tried to roll a full dresser onto it's side and snapped the leg. "It can't ever support it's own weight.... That's just wood glue."

Wooden furniture wasn't protected while moving because the fourth guy was the one with bringing the blankets and plastic wrap, so nearly every piece of furniture got scratched (only a bookshelf made it out unscathed).

Heavy boxes were stacked four high on a dolly so that the boxes at the bottom collapsed. Items that should have been plastic wrapped weren't.

Metal objects were placed against wooden surfaces, and bikes were laid, unsecured, on top of a digital piano.

We provided our own mattress bag, yet somehow it still got stained from the dirt in the truck.

The truck was packed so poorly that we called MovingPlace and requested it to be redone.

To their credit, they made efforts to match us with competent movers after the first crew, but by that time, the extensive damage was already done.

10/10. I’m so thankful to have heard about movingplace. I worked with several people from start to finish- everyone was great to work with. They helped to explain the whole process, helped accommodate schedule changes, and provided timely updates/ communication. For the trailer drop off and transit coordination, I worked with Daniel and he was fantastic.

Using this moving method was perfect for me, as I had a one bedroom and was moving cross country. I received quotes from dozens of other companies and they were 1) significantly longer delivery ranges and 2) waaaay more expensive. My company wanted me to relocate using their provided movers- and it was 3x the price and 2x the delivery window. Cannot say enough good things about movingplace- they helped make a stressful cross country move much easier.

Excellent experience- I was informed about each and every step of the moving process. They kept in good contact with me along the way. They were also very price competitive.

Do not trust these folks with your move. I booked a move for a container to be dropped off on Friday and booked my movers for Saturday. On Friday afternoon Moving Place called me and said that the container would not be dropped off as scheduled and promised, and refused to give me a time that it would be dropped off. Obviously I had to cancel my movers and couldn’t rebook. MovingPlace offered no solutions and no refund. MovingPlace is just another untrustworthy, shoddy company in an industry full of them.

EDIT: I’ve read their reply to my review. It’s worse than I originally posted.

After failing to deliver on Friday, they committed to delivering on Saturday—multiple times in writing and on calls. So we moved our stuff outside next to where the container would be delivered. Lo and behold after hours and hours of waiting on Saturday, they called and said again that the container would not be delivered until Monday. I told them that we work on Mondays hence the importance for timely delivery, so they sent movers. But the movers’ container size differed from the one I ordered, so we were forced to abandon some of our property.

Guess what—today is drop off day! But their delivery truck driver arrived and informed us something was wrong with the truck and they couldn’t drop the container off, and proposed that they deliver our container to a different location so we have to haul it back and forth. I just called MovingPlace to work this out and, per usual, they had no idea what’s going on. They’re just random brokers with phones and no control over quality.

I do believe that at least one movingplace employee worked part of the weekend to help me. One female employee was great on the phone. But hard work on their end does not equate to customer satisfaction on our end, and I’m writing to customers, not her boss.

Start to finish the Movingplace has been great to work with. The truck arrived and was picked up when we were told it would be. Everyone I spoke to was curtious and helpful including the drivers from the trucking company. I was very skeptical about the process when we first came across the Movingplace but after our move across the country with them I am a believer and was able to save a lot of money on my move.

Very good service at a very reasonable cost compared to other like companies I received quotes from. The 28ft trailer was dropped on Friday, the day it was contracted for and picked up on Monday morning, April 25th as agreed. My household good arrived in Michigan on Thursday, May 5th, the day that was scheduled for delivery. I had absolutely no problems with the Moving Place or Estes Moving, who supplied the trailer and transport. Highly recommend!

Great move even though there were only 2 instead of 3 helpers.
On time and careful.

We were carefully and fairly serviced by this company. Moving Place has honest and skillful employees. They did everything they could to get things done in the allotted amount of time that they quoted me. They carefully transferred my things from San Antonio to Galveston through a storm and not a thing was affected by the roads and driving conditions. They unpacked half as fast as they packed. Saving us money. We are so grateful to take a chance on a new company. These guys! We sure do appreciate you.

Great customer service. Their charge was much lower than all other quotes I got!! This was the second time I used their service. I would recommend them without reservations!!!

My experience was great, start to finish. Ben was on top of things and communicated with us promptly throughout the process. The truck drivers were polite and helpful. I couldn't be happier with everything.

Great communication at every step of the process! The delivery and pickup dates for the trailer were spot on. The coordinator, Manny, did a great job of keeping me informed throughout my move. I definitely would recommend this company to anyone that is looking for a reliable moving company.

Despite a whole host of problems that arose during the move, Moving Place, especially Marco, performed their duties admirably. Would highly recommend.

Everything went pretty much according to plan. If in need, I would use this servce again.

Super easy to work with! Everyone along the way was very friendly and the move couldn’t have gone better. Great communication, easy to contact, flexible times, and the best part was the amazing price! I’m very pleased I went with them and would book with movingplace again in the future.

Excellent customer service, pick up, packing, delivery unloading, and value. Be patient, as it takes a bit of coordination time to get all the moving pieces put together.

We looked into U-Haul but they were grossly overpriced so we had to find someway to get our stuff out of state and the Movingplace offered the best price. Not only the best price but outstanding service. They walked us through the whole process and were flexible with our moving date and even moving location. They gave us plenty of time to load and unload and provided the ramp and plenty of load locks so even an an unexperienced packer could keep their stuff in place. We were very impressed with this company and would definitely recommend to anyone moving to consider using this company. Even better than U-Haul because you don't have to drive it yourself! Thank you so much for helping us with our move!

I dont write reviews but for how much moving services cost you should have an idea of what you're paying for. The reason why I went with Moving Place is because they were the cheapest option at the time. But this price tag comes with major caveats such as poor customer service and poor care of transported goods.
Long story short, they poorly explained their service when I first place my order. When you go with Moving Place what you get is rented space on a semi truck. Not a big deal, but when you dont make this explicitly clear when making this purchase its misleading about what you are getting.
And this wouldn't be all too bad if they properly manage their trucks. My things were caked and covered in dirt and residue floating around in the truck and my things were damaged despite a thorough packing job.
So unless you are on a tight budget, I suggest you go with a different company.

Amazing! I really liked my team. They were extremely efficient by picking up all my junk (moving state-to-state), especially since I am disabled. My apartment was a mess, but they mostly got everything. However, maybe they should’ve have taken *everything* since I got toilet cleaner poured over some cosmetics/bathroom goods, but that stuff was all replaceable. Bonus: they delivered my things in less than 3 days. 10/10

Great job, good price, communication was responsive and friendly, estimated arrival time was spot on.
