trying to get the money back that was taken incorrectly for missing cheques is a constant fight.

sold shares on 22nd May 2021 said sent cheque and not arrived took bank account details and have called numerus times and still nothing in the bank and now again trying keep saying 5 working days they will resolve but they have said this everytime i call and now you can see from 22nd May to 02 July that its been over a month and still no payment
Horrendous company
Horrendous company, I feel like I’m dealing with a company from the 1975. People on the phone tend to be good. But things are never done as they should b. I started trying to sell shares over a year ago and still have not received funds. They are horrendously slow back office don’t ever seem to get anything right. Overall system needs updating. If process any longer I will be taking legal action against then as opportunity loss has been in excess of 15 thousand pounds.

Absolutely awful. Requested my funds to be paid by BACS and they sent a cheque to my EX WIFE'S ADDRESS. Weeks later It is now June and I'm still waiting on reimbursement for my May contribution. Communication is slow, indifferent and they absolutely will ignore what they choose to. My advice if you need to contact them is to clearly and consisely ask one single question per email, but even then be prepared to be ignored. Looking into who I can escalate my complaint with.

Reading through the comments here I could have written several of these as they match my experience exactly. Have been dealing with my mums estate and have had no problems with either of the other share dealing services I have had to use. Link however have continually asked for more paperwork, and really don't seem to have a clue. This has been going on for over six months, and many , many phone calls and documents sent by recorded delivery.
The last phone call made to them, the lady after long explanations on my part, and some searching by herself, stated that everything had been received and the shares should be sold, and to wait for the cheque. That was a month ago. Tried phoning again this morning and get a recorded message that they are experiencing technical difficulties.
After reading these comments i am not surprised by this. If you can ovoid it do not deal with this company!

Utterly dreadful company to deal with. I am in fortunate position where after 15 months our file is closed with share certificate received. It was in connection with my father's estate.
I would suggest if you are having problems wrote directly to the Chief Executive and Directors of the Company. It was only after doing this, which might be a coincidence but the file started moving after this. Of you are using solicitors I would just go direct you might have more chance of success.
Would happily give this Company a zero rating, if it were possible. No words can describe how appalling this Company are in delivery of any sort of customer service.

Like so many others, my solicitor is trying to close my late father's estate and everything is dealt with, with the sole exception of shares managed by Link Asset. They are dreadful. Claim they haven't received documents sent by recorded delivery, wanting to charge extra for documents that should not be necessary, always coming up with another document that needs sending in to them weeks after they have been sent what was already requested, taking weeks at best to respond to queries. I understand from my solicitor that we are not the only family that they are dealing with that has similar issues with estate wind-up. They are at best incompetent and at worst.....well? We have been trying for months now to get them to sort out the sale of shares so that my father's estate, more than a year after his death, can be finalised. They don't care; Covid is not a valid excuse for their behaviour. As others have said, Equiniti have been excellent and couldn't be more helpful. There are so many complaints that Financial Regulatory Authorities should be taking action against them and removing their licence to operate. Don't touch them with a barge pole if you can avoid it - unfortunately we can't in this instance.

I have finally received my share certificate after months of phoning at least 3 times a week .Same experience as everyone else’s comments , must have spent 120 plus hours on phone ,link Assests blame lost paperwork even stating they did not receive 2nd indemnity that I posted tracked and signed for when I could prove they had received indemnity form they backtracked .
The irony of all this is I had to pay for a share certificate they say they posted out yet i never received a valuable document sent 2nd class that is unbelievable.

Agree with the previous comments. The customer service is far from being acceptable for a financial services company. Respond times take weeks, despite being generic and unhelpful and phone lines are blocked for hours.

Just awful - uninterested customer service - emotionless script reading - nothing possible - outstanding payment one month after selling shares - just the worst experience with a company I have had in years.
Still no money 1 month after closure!
Transaction processed on 28th May told will receive money up to 10 working days after. It is now 21st June, approaching 4 weeks after and still no money received. On hold for far too long, transferred to different departments and still no further forward on where my money is or when I can expect to receive it. Something does not seem right and trying to make complaint not the easiest!!

We have been attempting to resolve a share sale issue for many months through our solicitor and despite paperwork being sent and acknowledged we are unable to finalise our late relative’s, deceased October 2020, estate.

Absolutely disgusting my Uncle died April 2020 so I contacted LAS to notify them it's now june 2021 and still no further on all I keep getting is they didn't know he had passed away which is a lie as I have the log number for when they were notified looks like I will have to go to the financial ombudsman service
Dreadful service
My father died earlier this year and I've been trying to transfer a large stock holding of his to my mother ever since. Every time you phone Link you have to wait in a queue for 30-40 minutes then each time they give you excuses about a backlog in processing because of COVID.
Each time I have phoned they have give me a different story about what I need to do but the fact is they have never acknowledged the documents I sent and keep changing their story. They now accept they have the share certificate and legal documents but now they want me to do something else.
It's been MONTHS for god's sake! They've been sitting on my mother's financial assets for MONTHS.
And now they're going to post a form to me that I need to fill in but have warned me it will take them several weeks to process.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

Some 15 months into Covid and they still have a queue taking 45 minutes to talk to a human. Why would I need to talk to a human? Because their selling system does not work. Their selling system does not work because their software has a number of glitches in it. Hence you have to call them to sell an item. One of the glitches limits how much of a holding you can sell at anyone time. Once you have sold part of a holding you cannot sell any more until their software tells them their process is complete. I don't know how long this is, so far it has been 5 days. They operate an email response time of .... 5days. Well to be frank, at least 5 days as I've not had a response after 5 days so I don't really know. Hence I will have to ring them to chase up a response to my email.
At some point someone must be making money out of this madness but you can forget customer service as it is off their radar.
Avoid this company as much as you can.
Update; some 5+ working days after the deal actioned and my email request for some more information. Well they failed to hit their 5 day standard and I have yet to receive a cheque from them. All very dodgy.
Another update; I did my deal at the start of June. 24 days later I finally received my cheque. It looks like they have instituted an additional security stop in the process which the staff are not aware. Of the many chasing emails I have sent them very few have been answered but the English quality is good.
Final update; once they resolved their software glitch and their security glitch I have managed to complete my transactions and secured all owed monies. "All's well that ends well." Hence I've raised this to two star.
Incredibly Poor!
I have been trying to deal with the sale of one share holding, together with a transfer of a further holding. I have found Link to be utterly appalling on both matters, with repeated - and in my view not credible - claims to have not received correspondence. I have never experienced such poor service from any organisation.
