I inadvertently entered the wrong travel dates on my request and sent it through. Insurte quickly responded and processed my cancellation request allowing me to get the correct dates on a new policy and refund me the amount of the first policy within a day. Great service!

I contacted Insurte regarding a travel insurance policy date change after an unexpected delay with our visa and immigration paperwork prevented us from starting our original honeymoon trip as planned. Although the policy had already started, the team carefully reviewed our situation, requested the necessary supporting documents, and worked with us to find a solution.

Laurène, Shoko, and the customer service team were professional, patient, and very responsive throughout the entire process. They provided clear instructions, answered our questions promptly, and ultimately helped update our policy to match our new travel dates.

Thanks to their support, we can now continue our honeymoon plans with peace of mind. I truly appreciate the extra effort and flexibility from the Insurte team and would recommend them to other travelers looking for reliable travel insurance support.

Last minute change of flight plans - 1 day earlier than my med cover. I realised the problem at 3.30 in the afternoon with my visa appointment scheduled for 10am the next day. But no problem and no delay! Help in the form of Paul the Champion flicked the switches and Boom - new policy. This must have been within 10 mins or even less. In your mind's eye - picture Paul wearing a red flowing cape :-)

Good customer services I paid for my travel insurance but I couldn't get a visa because there was not an available date for appointment so I requested for a refund by explaining the situation and I get a refund of all my money

The service is ridiculous. I never realized that they were just a broker. When my wife took ill last year, we had to spend over a thousand € for medical services in Egypt. Their people covering medical claims are useless. I guess it’s my fault hoping that insurance companies actually want to help you instead of hose you.

They were so kind and they were attentive to all my complaints, they issued a refund after I was rejected and it was a smooth experience. All solved in under 12 hours and I am expected to get a refund within 48 hours ! The staff were very responsive and helpful. I requested changing some details in the insurance certificate and it was fixed within a few hours.

My husband and I purchased comprehensive annual insurance plans with Insurte for our relocation to Portugal. I had one occasion to use the medical system for a total cost of less than 300 euros (two hospital receipts and one pharmacy receipt). We paid out of pocket as is required and followed the reimbursement protocol by submitting the receipts, along with the insurance form and multiple identity related copies (passport, entry stamp, lease document, insurance card, etc.) Nevertheless, we spent months and more than ten emails and nearly as many phone calls, as well as filing with our US insurance company to prove they would not pay before we finally were reimbursed. First, we were told there was one copy missing so we sent it. Then, several weeks later, we were told we had to resubmit everything in one email as the claim could not be processed if documents were submitted in separate emails. Then, we were told they had processed only two of the claims, because the third lacked an itemized bill and we had to contact the hospital to obtain one. The two hospital receipts were formatted identically and both listed the exact services performed (one exam and one scan). The insurance representatives were dismissive and, at times snarky. It was an incredibly frustrating process. Before our Insurte policy expired, We purchased new plans with MGEN and have had a much better experience.

Update: A representative from Insurte contacted us regarding this review and requested it be amended. The representative said Insurte is only a broker and not an insurer. The bottom line: we purchased through Insurte because of their many positive reviews. We had no idea that they were only a broker, however we do not see how this changes the situation. They represent and profit from the insurance they sell. Our experience with the insurance we purchased through them was not positive. We relied on their reviews to make the important decision about purchasing medical insurance in a foreign country. Our only goal is to share an objective account of our experience in order to help others.
