It was a terrible experience.
I rarely provide feedback, but this time I feel it is necessary. I recently purchased a domain from Instra.com and was extremely disappointed with how they treated their customers.
- After making the purchase and payment, my account was deleted from their system without any notification or reason. I am unable to log in.
- I was required to verify my identity and was asked for an ID or passport. This was a very complicated and lengthy process. I have never seen a registrar do this before.
- The email support was extremely rude and unhelpful.
It was a terrible experience.
Afterward, I switched to another registrar. They handled the registration with a fully automated process. Additionally, I received free email and SSL services.

On rare occasions, a new account can be blocked if it does not pass our online validation process. In these cases, an email is sent to the new account holder requesting more information. We always strive to provide the best experience while we work to validate an account. We are sorry to hear you found the experience unhelpful.
We appreciate that some registrars have different validation processes when accepting a new account.

Avoid at all costs
Took nearly 6 weeks to sort out an issue with a .ie domain. Terrible communication. Ended up filing a complaint with the regulatory board of the domain in question to help get it sorted. Minimum 24 hours before you get a reply, but more often a week or more.
This company is not fit to represent domain holders as tasks and duties are not dealt with in a timely manner.
Avoid at all costs.
