Flexible, engaging learning materials

excellent training course

I had an excellent training course on PRINCE2 Agile. Within a week, I not only gained a lot of theoretical knowledge but also practical experience and feel well prepared for the exams.

Good experience

The platform is very user-friendly, allowing me to easily navigate and find relevant online courses. Additionally, I receive email notifications about promotions and the latest updates. A suggestion for improvement would be to offer more discounts to loyal customers.

Complete Courses ASAP

For the amount the course costs you should have access the training material until you have completed your exams.

I received an extension due to family illness and then found out that it would expire in December 24. If I want to just take the exam it will cost another £1k!!

I'm sorry that you didn't feel you had enough time to complete your course. All of our eLearning courses are sold with a 12-month licence, meaning you can access all learning content and training materials for a full year.

Depending on circumstances, we are able to extend the eLearning licence free of charge, which we did in this case for you. But unfortunately, we can't extend the length of exam vouchers without incurring charges from the exam boards themselves. Additionally, if an exam voucher has expired, the examining institutes will not allow us to extend the voucher, meaning a new exam has to be purchased.

I don’t feel the platform was easy and…

I don’t feel the platform was easy and attractive to use, did not make the studying experience enjoyable at all. All the information is better explain and express in the PeopleCert platform.
I have all questions responded on emails when needed and the support was attentive, but the course wasn’t a good experience itself

Give them a hard pass if you want to pass

I purchased an online training course and exam, thinking it was a sure winner. It's slow to consume and ambitious as it claims that you'll know the topic and be able to rattle it off at the end of the 20-minute module.

After you have worked your way through the content, then practice the exam. The idea is that their mock exams have a large pool of questions that simulate the real test questions. If you can score around 80% on average you stand a good chance of passing.

Well, I can hand on heart say that the real test questions are substantially more complex than the mock tests and I failed. Good times.

However, all of our accredited courses undergo a strict accreditation process with the relevant examining body to ensure they meet the high standards required in terms of learning content and exam preparation.

The questions on the exam simulators come from sample papers provided by the accrediting bodies (who set the official exams) and others are written by our trainers. The questions in the simulator will not be the same as the ones in the real exam exam, so it is extremely important that delegates learn the theory taught in the course, so it can then be applied to any question that gets asked.

The course material is abysmal

The course material is abysmal. It needs to be easily digestible and logical, but instead it's incredibly repetitive, circular and jumps all over the place. The same topic can come up three or four times in a single session. The amount of time spent having to collate different parts of notes so that the topic makes any sense is ridiculous. 20 minutes of presentation can easily take over an hour as it's necessary to transcribe virtually everything.

Not impressed with online course - website down

Trying to do one of their online courses. Presentation looked pretty good, but no sound. Now website seems to be down and it will not even load the course. Not impressed.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with our eLearning. However, there is no record on our system of any outage that took place around the time that you left the review (June 2024). If we did have any downtime, it would have been short-lived and would not have affected ongoing access unduly. It's possible that you may have experienced access issues on your side.

Worst training course I have completed

Studying for project management course, 5 days for PMQ, unfortunately the trainer fell ill after 3 days, new trainer was awful. There had obviously been no handover of where the initial trainer had got with the syllabus. The new trainer read directly from the power point slides, any fool can do that. There was little interaction, and you could see people switching off. This was the worst training course I have ever attended and will not be recommending to colleagues.

I'm very sorry to hear about your PMQ course. We always strive to provide an engaging learning experience for our customers, but sometimes things happen that are beyond our control, such as a trainer falling ill midway through a course. In a situation like this, we will always do our best to ensure a seamless transition to the new trainer, but this isn't always possible.

We ask every classroom and live virtual classroom delegate to provide feedback on our customer service questionnaires straight after the course, so if there are any issues that occurred, we can do our best to resolve them. Hopefully you raised your concerns at the time, so that our customer service team could pick them up with you.

Mediocre training, sexist trainer

Learning was mediocre but the face to face element was even worse. It was poorly led by a guy who basically read bits of the book, worked through one of the exams told sexist anecdotes and seemed more interested in telling us about his amazing project management career. As the senior leader on a cohort of 7 I can only say that if the trainer behaved the way he did on the course when working for me he'd be fired. The course cost a substantial sum and the team do not feel at all prepared to take the exams. Very, very poor value for money

Ive read quite a few reviews, i felt they were very much heavily sales based however Alisha saved this review for me, without her they would not have got 5 stars, her customer service is above and beyond and the company should be proud to have her!

Worst People worst service

Worst People worst service, first people don't care dont respond or pick upi the call and when you get through try to sell you more and ask for money. I was treated the worst,.
ILX group don't care, oh there is a death in the family please pay our fee and we will extend. oh financial hardship please pay more money.
oh you cant complete the courses, even though you did and called us late so pay more and we will give you access and make money.

Please don't use ILX - you will regret.......

Absolutely shocking system of getting a…

Absolutely shocking system of getting a course booked then taking the course and finally trying to get an exam certificate from them.

Appalling.
No idea who thought it was a good idea using them as a supplier, they do have loads of great courses, but if you cannot access them then it is obviously pointless.

The course trainer they supplied was also fairly poor.

On top of all of that they failed to provide any books and material ahead of the course which is sad as money was paid upfront

The communication with ILX staff is in minus figures but sadly this rating can only take one that is too much for them

Update: 29/01/2025. Hahahaha this review was placed in 2023 and ILX reply now. Case in point they cannot get their house in order. Yes it was in person. Yes we tried hopelessly to contact anyone. Yes you are shocking. Thanks for proving it. Maybe in two years you will have a better response than this feeble attempt.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. You haven't provided much detail, so I am making the assumption that you booked a live virtual classroom course, as you reference accessing the course, but also a trainer. Our live virtual classroom courses are run over Zoom, which is a fairly standard system that is used globally.

Supply of training materials and official manuals will depend on which course you booked and whether it was eLearning, classroom, or live virtual classroom. Virtual and eLearning customers will only receive digital materials as standard, and information on what was included and how to access them would have been on your confirmation email after you purchased. Hardcopy materials are only sent out as standard on our face-to-face classroom courses, and they are sent to the classroom itself.

There are many ways to get in touch with us - phone, live chat and email - with ILX team members available throughout working hours.

If you would like to provide more information about the course you took, I will be able to investigate further.

Poor Customer Service

Due to error in their system i could not take a pre-booked exam and even though i was promised an extension on my voucher via support chat they have now refused to extend it, avoid at all costs.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with taking your exam. Unfortunately, we do not run the exam systems for any of our courses, as they are all managed by the official examining body for that particular course. Where we can, we will always extend a customer's exam voucher, but if the exam voucher has already expired, then we are unable to do this. And often it's not possible for us to extend a voucher without incurring a charge from the examining body, and so we pass this cost onto the customer.

4x days wasted - DON'T TAKE the face to face course

The last I remember wasting so much of my time was when I was little and I was forced to go to church.

I completed a face to face fundation and practitioner course of Prince2 with Ian, last week on Friday the 9th of July in Imparando London

Excellent lovely and chatty man. I would probably love to have him over at a dinner party... As a Prince2 teacher gave me nothing to take, apart from a lot of regret having spending such a large amount of money in the course.

He spent the 1st hour of the 1st day doing introductions, it was a class of three people, how did he managed to spent 60 minutes only introducing the program, himself and also introducing us on our behalf based on the information he already had. Kudos to him on researching us before the class. Clearly, he has a lot of time to spare.

Following by that, he begun the lesson by reading to us from the book (I felt I was in the launch of a book) and then giving examples that had nothing to do with the paragraph he just read and on top of it, it diverted the lesson to talk about how anecdotes that neither had any relevance in the subject.

I didn't want to jump to conclusions on the first day, but on the second day I was fuming... I'm glad people can take this courses with all the time of the word in their hands... And I was surprised how my classmates actually found adorable and funny his stories regardless of how irrelevant they were.

Personally, I actually have a very hectic role and life, and it was very painful seeing how my questions weren't answer and how everytime I asked how was his anecdote connected to the subject he would just dodge the bullet.

Third day the struggle was even bigger and frustration increased to the point that I started reading the material while he was telling his tales... By this point I started to freak out about how was I going to pass the exam.

In the middle of my bitter experience, a great friend of mine, share this podcast and all hope came back to me. What a great program!!! I couldn't stop listening and taking notes... So many things I was struggling to understand became clear and the love I was hoping to have for Prince2 came to live.

However, there were still two days to go, and despite disliking so much the foundation I came with an open mind and ready to start the practionary part of the programme. OMG!!! it just got worse... Once again he took almost an hour to complete introductions. He also shared details about his vowel movements and only read from the book. What a dreadful experience. I couldn't bring myself to join the class on Friday. Instead, I had a great study session with my new discovered podcast on prince2.

Finally:

I have sent a couple of emails requesting to delete an email address from my records and only used a specific one - THIS HASN'T BEEN ACTIONED.

Aditionally, I haven't received in either of my emails any information to enrol to take the exam.

Considering the time and money I have gave to ILX and the poor experience I have had, I'd say compensation is in order. But I'd leave that to your discretion. Consider that on top of the 3k I paid for the course I also had a week with not income nor the opportunity to study the subject properly

It's a shame to have such great dissapointment as the result of what was expected to be an investment.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. No one responded to my email some time ago that the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner online course was simply the Foundation course with no practice exams or additional support for Practitioner provided. I reached out on their website chat and turns out there is a practice exam (only one) but it cannot be accessed via their app, only the browser. When you access the portal on the phone, it asks you to download the app "for the best experience". I was happy there actually was a practice exam but I really wouldn't have known the app didn't have all the resources. The customer service was not very polite and I felt accused of accessing the course incorrectly (should be done via computer/laptop apparently - if so, why is there an app?) and when I was simply providing constructive feedback I was made to feel like it was my problem, and they stated they've never come across it before (so must not be a problem, or just mine?). I wonder how many have done this course and not been prepared for the exam.
Had the experience with customer service been better and not made me feel like this was my fault, I wouldn't be writing such a negative review. The online course itself is alright for a Foundation course, but not sufficient for Practitioner.

Regarding the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner eLearning, like all of our courses, this has gone through a very strict accreditation process with the relevant accrediting body (which in this case is PeopleCert), to ensure it meets the high standards required in terms of learning content and exam preparedness. We actually don't offer a separate PRINCE2 Agile Foundation eLearning course, so I can assure you that the content and exam simulator in the Practitioner eLearning is for the Practitioner certification. Our combined PRINCE2 Agile Foundation & Practitioner course includes additional content to ensure learners know everything they need to about PRINCE2.

I'm sorry to hear that the communication you received over our live chat wasn't polite, but the information was correct - the smallest device our eLearning content should be accessed on is a tablet, but ideally it should be on a laptop or desktop computer. The ILX app is no longer supported and is not something we advertise. All mention of the app should have been removed from the portal, and so I will speak to the relevant team and ensure that this is the case.

No manuals provided for a course that…

No manuals provided for a course that needs the manual, it was like turning up for a driving lesson and having no car, took until half way through an intense three day course until it was resolved, and even that was complicated where I needed to create a login with a different company and install some special software before being able to download the book.

The course on zoom was ok but everyone had the same issue and it was therefore difficult for the trainer to deliver, he did his best under the circumstances.

I can see that you also left a review for PeopleCert, so I'm assuming that the course you were taking was one of their certifications, most likely PRINCE2 or PRINCE2 Agile. PeopleCert is the accrediting body and examining institute that owns the IP for these certifications.

When you purchase a PRINCE2 course through us, or through any other accredited training organisation, the only way to access the digital manual is by logging on to the PC platform, which is also where you will find your exam voucher. This information was all detailed in the confirmation email you received after purchasing the course. You will have also been sent further communications about pre-course work that would have referenced how to access the manual.

Customer support is dreadful

Customer support is dreadful. Course delivery Is OK but when coming to gain the qualification you are required to use a different company in which the course content delivered as well as the mock exam does not match that of the exam in which you are tested. Therefore, you are destined to fail. Do not waste your time or your money with this organisation.

The exams for our accredited courses must be taken with the relevant official examining body. This is the case for all accrediting training organisations, so for example, whoever you buy a PRINCE2 training course from, you will need to book your exam with PeopleCert, the accrediting body and sole examining institute for the PRINCE2 certification.

The questions on the exam simulators within our eLearning come from sample papers provided by the accrediting bodies (who set the official exams) and others are written by our trainers.
