I ordered 4 amazing lights from Illumination.co.uk, three for my hallway and one for my living room. I have had nothing but great service. The lights are a talking point as you can't get them from the UK. The company even paid my custom charges. I am very very pleased with their fast, reliable service despite the comments on TrustPilot, I would give them a 10 if I could. Thank you again, have recommended them to many of my friends ❤ 😊

Placed an order for a new light fitting before seeing the bad reviews - so I was a little worried…
I received order confirmation within 24hours, then I received shipping details soon after.. I was able to track my delivery from Germany to my UK address via DHL and then parcelforce sites.. my light fitting arrived within 4 days of placing the order in perfect condition and absolutely no additional import costs etc.
Im really pleased with my new kitchen light fitting and we have already received several compliments on it..!

Realised they weren't UK based but the products I wanted were German made and couldn't be found anywhere else so risked it. Ordered two lights, one at £69 and one at £79, saw the comments regarding slow deliveries and Customs charges (just one of the wonderful benefits of Brexit...). The two lights arrived as separate deliveries 5 days after placing the order, extremely well packed, undamaged and with no additional charges. Will definitely use them again.

Appalling service. A company based in Germany using a .co.uk website. Orders from the UK are billed for shipping costs although the company doesn’t advise this is applicable. We returned their product and are now having to go through Trust Pilot and PayPal to recover our money as they have not refunded us and won’t answer the phone. Absolutely disgusting and I would advise anyone NOT to order from them

Fair prices. Couldn't find one of the two lights we wanted anywhere else so ordered both from their website, although one light was cheaper elsewhere.
Thought they were in the UK, but they are based in Germany.
I received an email which said "Your order has left our warehouse", it did not say "part of your order has left our warehouse".
Was a bit surprised to find only one light in the box, sent all the way from Germany.
You do not receive any email confirmation when contacting them via their site. I did not get any replies to my emails and they did not reply to my PayPal dispute.
After phoning them, I did receive my second light but one of the bulbs was broken, so they refunded me £10 after I emailed them.
Good lights but poor communication and long delivery time as based in Germany.

Absolutely apauling. Do not buy from this company. They are not a uk company despite the .co.uk. Massive wait on delivery and then an extra customs fee.
They know this is happening yo every customer. They are fraudulently selling to uk customers by holding out a delivery cost knowing there will be extra costs. Surely this all amounts to misrepresentation. Even though outside uk can’t they be held accountable as trying to trade ‘like’ a uk company.

Unbelievable delivery charge.
i have almost Spend almost 1k, one of the light has been broken on way they don't take responsibility on top for replacement delivery charge its very much the same a month of the cost of the good.

I made an enquiry about their location and the possibility of import charges, prior to placing an order.
They advised me that they are in Germany and that there are no import charges due, also, if the delivery company insist on import charges I should pay it and pass on the receipt to 'illumination' for reimbursement.
Whilst it seems plausible, reviews of this company's behaviour hiding behind a .CO.UK website address yet outside the UK's Consumer Rights reach, has taught me to check EVERY new (to me) website's reputation BEFORE placing an order.
It seems that there are a few home lighting websites like this, I wonder if they are all related?
It's also really annoying, because my google search was looking for UK results.

Avoid at all costs! Foolishly didn’t refer to Trustpilot before placing an order. Goods arrived smashed and now won’t respond to emails. The phone number on the website is fake. Do not use under any circumstances.

Like other feedback, had to pay a further £62.80 in customs fees to get goods delivered by Parcel Force. Although paid via PayPal they could not help. No response from the German based company.

This is NOT a UK company, it is German. My purchase was for £230.99 incl. £38.50 VAT on their invoice, payment went to their Paypal account and took £235.99 with £40.17 Tax. Had to pay another £54.63 customs duty, VAT and Clearance Fee. Goods value £192.49 cost £290.62. Total rip off! Ordered on the 17th Feb arrived 12th March.

Placed an order, but then read the reviews so cancelled and ask for a refund which I got within 24 hours.

ordered x5 lights beginning of jan 2021
6 weeks later to be told x3 now not available.
Received x2 lights eventually poorly packaged no fragile stickers x1 light smashed.
Return broken light still waiting for replacement 2 months later from order date.

Stupidly! Further order of x2 lights both delivered x1 sent out broken
X1 sent out faulty
The quality is questionable as well out of square and flimsy
The ad stated 2500 lm , packaging states 1.300 lm so wrongly advertised
Still awaiting a response on a refund.

Order by all means but don’t expect any decent customer service or lights in one piece or working.

The phone number most of the time is dead and doesn’t ring , sometimes it rings with a uk tone and sometimes with a tone of a number outside of the uk.

I honestly couldn’t write one good thing about this retailer.

Refusing to cancel an order outside of agreed Consumer legal rights.This company claim they are UK based on their website then after payment you find out they are based in Berlin.I did not receive a dispatch notification and on chasing this up 2 days later they did not respond.I then tried to cancel the order and seek a refund via a PayPal dispute having read the dreadful reviews. They refused to refund me only 4 days later claiming the item was due to be dispatched today or tomorrow and it was now too late to cancel the order.They referred to the vague reference online of shipping within 6 to 10 days saying it constituted a customer dispatch notice which is clearly untrue.Their extremely unhelpful advice was to refuse the order on delivery so I could then obtain a refund. I am now out of pocket waiting for this to happen whilst they sit on my money. I can think of no other company I have ever dealt with refusing to cancel an order in these circumstances such that I question the legality of it.

UPDATE-Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, often abbreviated to CC (ICAC). This law came into effect from 13 June 2014, replacing older “Doorstep selling” and “Distance selling” law
Customers have an automatic right to a 14-day cancellation period for a consumer contract formed off-premises or at a distance after purchasing online goods,services or digital content.
When you sell goods, services or digital content then the customer has the automatic right to cancel the order.This can be carried out by the customer informing the company that they wish to do so, and they do not have to give a reason for doing so.
This is only the case when the contract is formed off-premises (for example, at the customer’s house) or at a distance (such as by mail order or through the Internet).Customers do not have this right by law when sales are made at a shop,office or other business premises.
I have now escalated this matter further via PayPal on 26.01.21 to a formal dispute following a phone call to Paypal.It is confirmed that their refusal to cancel the order and provide a refund after only 4 days of the order is illegal.

This company are shocking . Not based in the UK despite a .co.uk address, Take weeks to respond to emails , Fake phone number on website . Lights took 6 weeks to arrive and were then damaged. Said to package them up for them to look at despite photos sent. Company should be banned from selling .

Ordered a light way before Christmas, never arrived no response to emails or phone. Dispute raised on PayPal.

FIRE RISK beware. Took ages for my wall light to arrive, it’s been fitted two month and has melted the plastic housing, the components inside the driver unit have exploded and burnt the housing, it stinks of sulphur a d has clearly caught alight. I contacted the company as it’s a fire risk. After 2 emails I received a standard thank you response and they have ignored my messages. Buyers beware shocking service and poor quality products.

There were lots of issues with this company, firstly the dispatch took ages and lots of sending queries over 3 weeks on my behalf.
When they eventually arrived, the lamps all had 2-pin (European) plugs on, which is not stated on the website.
I contacted them again and a week or so later 3 adapters arrived (I bought 4 lamps). The adapters made the plugs so bulky that they were not suitable for me.
I returned the parcel and after in excess of 10 emails, over 4 weeks, asking for updates I have finally been sent my refund.
This is not a UK based company despite its .co.uk address, the service was slow and always needed prompting. The products do not have UK plugs on. The emails from the customer services were polite, if somewhat inefficient.

Placed an order more than 3 weeks ago only now to be told it was not going to be delivered ( 2 days before Christmas ) I had no communication from them and found myself having to chase them for information.
Very poor customer service in my opinion.

Hopeless customer servce. Emails are ignored, telephone calls not answered and product included defective parts.

Odd that so many have been delighted to give this outfit glowing reference. I wonder how many are bogus.
