Iv have a hitachi (58HK6100U A) tv and out of nowhere it’s just stopped working! The tv is on but no display at all! Iv tried a different hdmi cable and still no good. Out of all the bad reviews did anyone actually get their tv fixed?
Faulty TV
Faulty TV. I bought this Hitachi 58inch TV LED Ultra HDTV 58HK6100U from Argos, Uk last year and just a little over a year the screen went black. Just happened exactly as experienced by others in the reviews. First, the screen goes black, no picture but with sound on and then next day no sound and no picture, just dark screen. Very, very disappointing and waste of money. I wish I had read all these reviews before buying this TV. I will not recommend this TV to anyone.

Brought a Hitachi 58 inch from Argos. I had it for 18 months. All of a sudden lines apeared at the bottom and then the screen just went black . It has sound but no picture. Hitachi should be at fault for this after just 18 months is shocking. Don't buy this tv

Don't buy Hitachi 58 inch 58hk6100u
After just less than two years Hitachi 58 inch 58hk6100u packed in black like shadow sweeps in from the right side of the screen making screen go black also flickering at bottom of tv when first switched on don't buy Hitachi tv 58hk6100u or Any other Hitachi tv giving the rest of the reviews on here disappointed but after nearly two years warranty has gone so I've lost out.

This is quite unbelievable that every review is basically about the same 58" TV all regarding the faulty screen happening between 12 -18 months after purchess and like my TV came from Argos but the culprits are Hitachi who must be aware that there's a major fault within that model & size TV that happens within 6months of the warranty running out. Hitachi don't seem to keen on replying to reviews so perhaps Trading Stands mite help as it's not a random fault ever review is for the same model Hitachi 58" tv

It looks like is the same story. Bought a Hitachi 58 Inch Smart 4K UHD HDR LED Freeview TV 18 months ago, and a couple of weeks ago while watching a film the screen turned black, however there was sound. Tried to contact Argos and Hitachi, but because is out of warranty they will not do anything. They've advised to get a report done on the TV, but it feels like there is no point going down that route. I was thinking to get it fixed, but I might fix a part and than a different one might appear. The problem is investing lots of money, replacing the faulty part and than the one that caused the issue will/might damage the new one.
Now I can only try to sell it for a few quid. We've got a Sony, it's about 7 years old, and man, that is a good quality TV.
Never buy a HITACHI, unless you are offered 5 years warranty and get another 5 on top of it. But be ready in under 2 years or less you'll get the same 'good' quality.... learned my lesson...
Potential Resolution
Similar to what has been posted in this thread, the screen just faded with a few green/grey lines appearing, during a film.
Update - If you have been through the process of speaking with tech support and customer services, you will by now have been informed that you will need to commission a third-party to receive an independent report stating the product contains a manufacturing fault. I decided to try out this method at the cost of £135 (pick-up, report and delivery included) and the results proved the product had a faulty TCON board. Argos live chat put in writing that they will cover the cost of this if a manufacturing fault is proven. Today, after submitting the report to their customer services HQ, I received confirmation that they will issue a pro-rata refund on top of the report cost. The pro-rata rate was worked by deducting my ownership time from their 6-year duty of care (about 20 months for me). I'm losing about £100 in total - It's not the most ideal or simple resolution and not a full refund, but it's something. I thought this may be useful if there are some considering this option but were put off by the cost of the report in comparison to the TV.
Side note - the cost to get it fixed was near enough the cost of the TV brand new (about £50 difference). I'll be returning the TV instore for the refund and reimbursement once I receive it back from the independent report company. Hope this helps.
58" 4K TV from Argos only lasted 18 months
Bought the 58" 4K TV from Argos 18 months ago. Turned the tv on the other evening and was greeted by a white screen with blue stripes as the screen had gone. It's past its 12 month warranty so nothing Argos could do that wouldn't cost me a fortune to sort out. Not damaged, not recently cleaned the screen, nothing happened out of the ordinary to it. Obviously there's something wrong with the Hitachi 58" as this is happening to others clearly. Disgusting waste of money.

Bought this 58” hitachi tv in November 2020 and yesterday 29/09/22 turned the tv on for the kids to watch cartoons and after about 15 minutes the screen went a blue/grey colour with stripes wouldn’t mind but the tv in the front room is hardly used dour to having one in the kitchen/dinning area and kids having them
In their bedrooms I contacted argos they passed me onto hitachi who both fobbed me of as I purchased it over a year ago surely they can not get away with this
I have since been on live chat with argos and they have confirmed in writing that I have to pay for a registered engineer to have a look at my tv and confirm that the screen is faulty and also pay for a report then to send it to argos head office she put in writing that she guaranteed my money back or a replacement tv plus my money back for obtaining the engineers report.
