Hitachi Smart TV - completely broken down
The screen on our 58 inch Hitachi Smart TV (58HK6100U) suddenly went black. The sound was still there. I found the Hitachi customer care number after quite a bit of searching on the internet. Since I had bought the tv from Argos, I was transferred to the Argos tech services. They tried to help and took me through the process of hard reboot. But it did not help. In fact, later I found that the sound was also gone.
This tv is 2 years old. Like many others in this group, I think it has been a complete waste of money.

55 pollici: ogni tanto si spegne e si accende da solo, dopo meno di due anni ha già la macchia nera in alto a sinistra.

Hitachi 50 Inch 50HK25T74U invisible menu
Bought Hitachi 50 Inch 50HK25T74U from Argos Dec 2020, now cannot see any menu options e.g. channel, volume, source, guide.
Turns out you need to do a hard reset, i.e. turn off the power at the plug for several minutes.
8 hours, and faulty.
Not even had it for 24 hours, picked it up at 11.30 this morning. Its now 20.37 and its having a melt down. Menu is scrolling on it own. Taken batteries out of the remote thinking a button is stuck in and still scrolling through the menu on its own 😐 see what its like when its connected to my wifi tomorrow

Ordered the 58HK6200U TV from Argos in April 2022, the telly broke within a month and a half, contacted Argos and little to my knowledge they gave me a refurbished one back, the refurbished replacement lasted a little longer than the brand new one! Refurbished one broke in Feb 2023, contacted Argos and explained how crap the telly is and they agreed to give me a full refund of my money after I refused to accept another refurbished or new Hitachi, save your money and buy a better telly!!

Bought a 50-inch Hitachi 4K TV in 2021 lasting just over 18 months same problem is everybody else will not be buying again I've also noticed Argos to stop selling Hitachi TVs there is a major problem with these TVs and it needs sorting very disappointed and a waste of money that I can't afford

*Hitachi 50" tv worked fine for a year but like so many other reviews on here I experienced vertical and horizontal lines on the image 5 seconds after turning it on and unable to fix through settings and internet forums. I assume the 'S' is missing from the name.
Hitachi Tvs are bad quality
Do not buy Hitachi Tvs. As with everybody else on here, we bought a 50 inch 4k smart TV in November 2021 from Argos. 13 months later, there was a white ball of light in the bottom left corner, vertical blue and gray lines on the screen, black murky background and it stopped working. The TV technician said it was a total screen failure and was disgusted that it was only 13 months old. Save your money and buy elsewhere....

I purchased a 50" Hitachi TV, and after 13 months, it developed horizontal lines across the screen. Three months later, I have more lines than picture. This is this first and last time I will ever buy anything from Hitachi- cannot print what I think of this company.

The same problem everyone that bought Hitachi from Argos i have. I bought the 32 inches Hitachi TV from Argos after my warranty run out the tele went black no pictures and no sound just the standby light. I think Argos should stop selling this brand there must be something wrong about Hitachi tv for everyone to be having the same problem. In summer started getting vertical lines time by time. Yesterday befor going to sleep TV was working, without issues, today tv is with black screen and horizontal line on top and bottom..
Could blame kids for destroying it, but it's hanging on the wall. So only thing what I can blame is poor quality.

two TVs bought as Christmas presents in November 2020. One went wrong 2 days out of the Argos 12 month warranty and the other has gone wrong this year. Two disappointed children who now have no TVs!!!!! disgusting service!

Bought a Hitachi50HK6100UB Sept 2020 from Argos. Only had it 2years and 2 months (1 year guarantee) when the screen started playing up. Any letters or bright colours would be like a curtain going from top to bottom of the screen every 2 seconds. Hard to describe what is was like. Phoned up the Argos helpline and they talked us through a factory reset. No good and they said out of warranty so either get a tv engineer or new tele. After just over 2 years. We got an engineer to look at it and they said "there is a fault with the internal connections within the LCD screen and the only possible repair would be a replacement screen which is uneconomical" We have now bought a new tele not from Argos I should add. Sorry to say this to all the others who have reviewed but I don't feel so bad now. Thought it was our bad luck. I think it is disgusting and wrong we've all had to go through this. My next plan is to email Argos and Hitachi but from what I've been reading will not get any joy. Consumer Rights says 6 years so might investigate that. Order no from Argos 1511588536 on 9/9/20
