good experience on the JFK-OTP flights
My son and myself flew Hisky from JFK to Bucharest and back, on their new direct flight. It was an unexpectedly good experience. Both flights were on time, very well organized at both ends, and the flight itself was comfortable and smooth. The attendants were friendly and serviable, and the services were good (including decent food and movies during the flight). Attention to detail, and the funniest instructional video (I don't know if I was the only one giggling). Everything went well, and there were no hickups of any kind (yes, the online check-in worked great too, and avoided the airport fee).
I fly from the US to Europe for work at least once or twice a year, and I have worked with many traditional airlines, and encountered problems along the years with every one of them (from cancelations, to lost luggage, to communication and refund issues). To have a problem-free trip was so very comforting and unexpected. I will likely stick to this flight when traveling to Romania in the future. It was better than other much fancier options, and almost half the price.

Changing program of flight without carring about passagers bookings
We have booked a flight and we supposed to fly at 12:15 but The company changed The hours to 18:15 and we arrive at the hotel at 21:30-22:00. They don't care that we loose a Day of accommodation. Also The back flight we supposed to fly at 14:15 an The company changed The ours to 00:55 in the night... I the circumstance that we have to leave The hotel room at 12:00. So we have to stay with our little baby 12 hours on the road and with no accommodation for The change of The flight program by this patetic aerline company! 😡😡😡😡I totaly not recomand! 😡😡

8 hours delay without any explanation. The flight was to Antalya, a lot of families with small kids in the plane. In the future we will avoid this company.
Good for budget airline
Good flight overall, very smooth. Flew from JFK to Otopeni. Good value for budget airline. $15 in person check-in, which isn’t really disclosed anywhere. Otherwise, food was okay but better on the return trip and service was good. Toiletries provided, two meals included, and relatively comfortable seats. Good option if you’re looking to visit Romania.

7 hours delayed and no compensation. Shocking service, no staff came to inform us why the flight was delayed! Trying calling to find information and had no luck. Wouldn't book again. Submitted for compensation under eu law and they send some legal bull saying why they don't have to pay out. Wouldn't book again

If you have a chance please avoid this company to not face unprofessional service and surprises at the airport like us. The website is very unclear in what is included and what not neither that there is a layover in another country for 20 hours.
They charge for airport check-in and for a cabin bag. This is not communicated clearly and transparent to the passengers in advance, no emails, sms or anything else.
The staff at the airport is very rude. Never again!
Der gestrige flug (3.8.24) n. Bukarest 2.40h Verspätung
Der gestrige Flug (3.8.24) nach Bukarest um 15.55h startete mit 2h40 Verspätung von Frankurt und landete kurz vor 22h in Bukarest. Somit wurde die Entschädigungspflicht ab 3h knapp umgangen. Da die Flüge von Frankfurt immer verspätet abheben sollte HiSky dies mal erklären. Die ab 2h kostenlos zur Verügung zu stellende Verpflegung funktionierte ebenfalls nicht. Daher ist diese Fluglinie keine Empfehlung wert!

They increase the price in the last minute before being able to pay. Also I just want to mention I was using their website directly and not a 3rd party. Unfair practices
They do not protect the traveler
Moldovan company working with Romanian scam agency, I lost a refund of two tickets and they credited them to a phantom company (Flygo) they did not want to credit my account.... they do nothing to protect the traveler, if possible I will not take these flights again.
They forced me to pay extra for check in
Really bad experience! On June 10, 2024 we traveled from NYC to Bucharest using HiSky. We didn’t know this airline but as they were offering direct flight, and we were traveling with a baby, we decided to try. I had problems trying to check in online the day before. Their website kept asking me for further information even if I put everything, but as I was traveling with a baby didn’t surprise me. It happened in the past that airlines requested in person check in as I was traveling with a baby. Anyway I sent texts to my husband and also screenshot explaining what happened. Next day, we got the surprise in the jfk counter that I have to pay 15$ per passenger for check in at the airport. I made the complaint and after half an hour they offered me a reimbursement after the flight. Otherwise they weren’t allowing us to travel. So I was forced to pay. Since then, I made phone calls and emails after emails where this company keep asking for proof that I sent few times already, receipt, screenshot of the check in, just to avoid the reimbursement. This company is just not reliable at all, I will not recommend it,
Flight originally delayed with 12hrs
Flight originally delayed with 12hrs - from 11:55am to 12am the next day. Then they said that we will actually fly at 1pm and that we should get to the airport. We got to the airport with a taxi since the transport was no longer covered by Detour and after waiting, the flight got delayed to 14.40 and then again to 16.00, all of this with no notice, just the airport screen with the flights. Then, all of a sudden, at around 14:20, they opened the gate and started boarding and we took off at 15:00. I read on the news that they said it’s the customer’s own responsability to get to the airport and catch the flight. Shocking. They didn’t apologize, they flew almost the whole time with toilets closed due to turbulence that wasn’t even strong and didn’t serve anything during the flight.

18June2024 I was flying with my wife n 2kids from Dublin to Bucharest. When I went for check-in n give all our passports, when she saw my Bangladeshi passport n Cyprus residency card she said I can't fly. I ask her the reason, instead of giving me correct ans she started to be rude same time the guy was there on duty also rude behaviour. There so unprofessional that they don't even know basic rules and regulations, when I'm holding a Cyprus residence permit n my wife from Romania I can fly Romania without visa n without return ticket. In the end she said I will give you pass you have to cut returns tickets for all, what nonsense n stupid n unprofessional ans as I went in Dublin from Romania on 15th off June by Ryanair n 18 off June returning to Romania by Hisky, why I have to cut returns tickets for Dublin again what nonsense. After all this speaking when I started ro be nervous they call another lady to call Romania airport Immigration. N Immigration said that I have right to fly Romania n stay there for 90 days visa free then she accepts my baggage n did the check-in. Never again with this airline again.
Also was more than a hour flight delayed.

12hours delay and NO EXPLANATION for flight H4 8622
I am forwarding my father's comments regarding HiSky and its personell involved in the Antalya - Bucharest flight H4/8622 8621 from 15.06.2024: My name is Nicolae Chioveanu and both me and my wife Elena have been involved in the incident/huge delay caused by Hi Sky's airplanes not being able to take off from Antalya to OTP, and also being delayed initially when we left from Bucharest to Antalya for more than 12 hours.
Thank you for your time today in handling my case and please note that I am reaching out to you with 2 purposes:
1. Trying to find a solution/compensation for the fact that in total, Hi Sky's planes had a delay of over 11 hours for both inbound and outbound (H4 8621 / H4 8622) flights. Despite the fact that we were treated like animals in the plane H48621 (being ordered to leave it and threatened with the police both me and a friend when we asked for more details, and also being denied a conversation with the captain) we were left for more than 9 hours in the airport, with a a can of juice and a cold sandwich. But the MAIN issue here is the way we were treated by your entire personnel both from the plane and at ground, the way the yelled at us and the fact that they gave us NO EXPLANATION for 9 hours, blocked inside the airport. I am suffering from Diabetes, my wife Elena has a heart condition that requires medication and a stress free environment. Besides the fact that HiSky and Karpaten Turism ruined our vacation, you also endangered our lives.
2. Having a legal proof of reaching out to you to resolve this peacefully.

Stay away from this airline!!!!
Stay away from this airline. We were supposed to fly with them at 6 AM, but they changed the flight to 11 PM! They don’t care that customers are losing one full day and half of the first night of their booked vacation. They offer no compensation for this and just carry on. Nobody is doing anything, and that is why these airlines get to do whatever they want. Avoid them!!
Impove timings in this not busy airport
They can improve by changing the timing in connection with other flights. While 100 people were waiting in the plain ( which was ready to take off ) for another 3-4 people landing from Frankfurt. I never seen these pasangers that we were waiting for over an hour.
This is how over 100 have lost their other connections, busses, etc for 3 people that never came on board.
TERRIBLE
TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE company to deal with. After buying classic range ticket, where I can modify the fares by paying the difference if it's more expensive, on a £1 price difference flight I was asked to pay £104. Then when I sent them an email, to customer service, I got a delayed reply, saying it is an error in their system, I only need to pay £44, would I want to go for that. I replied, yes I would like to go ahead and do the change, but no reply since. Very very bad customer service!
