Very bad customer service, waiting for over 2 weeks now to get business account openend with no luck. Had a different issue before that and took weeks to get a reply with no resolution.

Account blocked without explanation despite numerous attempts on my end to resolve.
I have not done a thing wrong with their vehicle but they have blocked my account and when i call or email they say they cant discuss it with me. Really strange as i only used them a couple of times when my car was off the road.
Its actually really annoying that they wont tell me why !

I recently had a highly disappointing experience with GoCar that left me feeling misled and let down by their service. During my rental, I encountered a tire issue and was left to believe that the cost of replacing the tire would be reimbursed. Acting on this information, I went ahead and bought a new tire, only to later be informed that this cost was non-refundable.
Had I been given accurate information from the beginning, I would have simply contacted roadside assistance to return the vehicle to its original location, saving myself the unnecessary expense and hassle. Instead, I felt I had no choice but to pay for the tire replacement out of pocket.
This lack of transparency and communication from GoCar was extremely frustrating. It’s clear to me that GoCar does not prioritize honest communication or customer satisfaction, and unfortunately, I won’t be using their services again. I would caution anyone considering GoCar to be wary of unexpected costs and unclear policies.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.
Company is crap
Hi I hired a go Car Yesterday. It was a horrendous experience. The car would not unlock, eventually when it did we made our way to Belfast. I parked it in an underground parking. The car would not unlock, fair enough it was underground. It took 4 hours for someone to arrive because it was north of Ireland. The sad thing is that they make it like it is the customers fault with arrogance and cheek.
Their response was
When your vehicle was parked in an underground area, it appears the signal strength required for the app to communicate with the car was insufficient. Unfortunately, this can sometimes interrupt the connection between the vehicle and your mobile device, making it difficult to unlock remotely. In cases where the primary issue is indeed a drained battery, we would proceed with vehicle recovery and ensure a refund of credits for an alternative booking. However, since you were able to continue with the vehicle, no recovery was requested.
"We recognize the impact this had on your plans, which is why we extended an additional €25 inconvenience credit, beyond the usual maximum of €25, resulting in a total of €50 credited to your account. We hope this gesture reflects our commitment to your satisfaction, even if it may not entirely compensate for the time and activities missed."
"Regarding the battery and connectivity concern, if the vehicle could be opened intermittently, this likely indicates a connection issue rather than a fully depleted battery. With our keyless vehicles, maintaining Bluetooth and service connection is essential for smooth operation, especially in areas with weaker signals."
So go car expects me to go to 1 place, park the car and get stuck, wait 4 hours to get it out. When the car is out in the open they cannot unlock it. And then because i drove it back it completes my trip regardless of what activities i am supposed to do! What will i do with a 25 euro credit which in supposed to pay more to book a car..

I was book car than I show up at location there was no car they send me to another location and there was no car either lol, I have important meeting where I was late and I lose money , they tell me to cancel booking soninsid and they do not refund me and do not give me credit as we talk with hep desk useless customer service avoid this company
Extremely disappointing customer service
Extremely frustrating and disappointing customer service. They rang me today to say I had to go back and move the van even though i left it exactly where I found it. They said it was in a private parking and I would be clamped and they'd charge me for it (it wasn't a private parking!!!!). They said there are designated parking spaces for go car but there werent. They told me I should have learned this when i got my driving license, they kept contradicting themselves but they wouldnt tell me where to park. Total waste of time and energy, very rude, unhelpful and absolute waste of time today. I really wish I wouldn't need this service ever again.

If I could give zero stars I would. A Go van crashed into my jeep nearly 2 weeks ago and done over €3k worth of damage to the front. They have completely ignored me and fobbed me off from department to department. They state on the website if you crash one of their vehicles they automatically take a €2000 excess fee from you but they don’t bother to pay for the car they damaged ! Absolutely disgraceful service! See you in court guys !
CAREFUL when collecting vehicle, don't leave the pick-up location until you've taken evidence. CALL at once to signal damage caused by a previous driver.
The bottom line here, always be SUPER CAREFUL when you collect a vehicle - like with any car rental - or else you risk being charged heftily for the damage caused by a previous driver.
I like the idea of GoCar, it's a good service for a city. I am first time user and wanted to hire a van. On the first pick-up date, the van wasn't on location. I called but the agent told me it was there. Eventually she offered a full refund. I rebooked and on the second pick up I took pictures of large scratches. Luckily I realised (from a dash signal) that a side door sliding mechanism had been damaged. I reported that immediately + gathered and uploaded evidence. The agent wanted me to create a case, but I insisted it wasn't my damage - so she offered to update their system herself.
Some FRUSTRATION but at least (bonus rating), real helpful persons (in both cases offering a reasonable solution) picked up my call or interacted in the app, which I find very valuable (I think GoCar are a Europcar brand, so they have proper customer service operations).

Health & Safety Hazard - Avoid
Customer support awful. Low adblue levels on collection / sounded like a loose turbo pipe (leaky air on acceleration) and numerous warning on dashboard. Car about to breakdown so I ended my trip early. I warned the staff about safety issues and they admitted to allowing further customers use the vehicle even after health & safety issue was flagged!
I emailed multiple pictures of the issues & it was disregarded and told me it was not the truth.
Health & safety of this service is massively questioned. Please spend the small bit extra for a reliable and safe vehicles.
Used the service a week earlier and they wouldnt issue me a fuel refund (their policy), which would only be issued as a GoCar credit to continue using their unsafe vehicles. Disgrace.
Car wouldn't start
I was able to access the car easily but once in it, the problems started. The alarm blasted even though I was in the car. Once I stopped the alarm and was ready to go, the screen wouldn't work and the car simply wouldn't start. Customer service tried to start it on their end but had the same issue. They advised me to get a taxi to then rent another car but at that point I had enough. Wouldn't recommend

When i arrived at my car i was unable to open it and when i reactivated it i was charged and it still didn't work i was told to book the car beside i noticed there was damage to it and was told not to take it. I eventually got one . Your instructions on how to operate the app are ridiculous and stupid. I eventually got to my destination and I'm hoping i dont have any further issues

I Booked one of their cars for 24hrs but they changed it on the app to only 12hrs without my knowledge and didn't even bother to tell me that after 50 kilometres they'll charge me for every kilometre and an additional charge for 25 just for inconvenience. After that and ended up Overcharging me three times and instead of paying 55 euro for my trip I had to pay them 118 euros! Don't fall for this scam

Have been using this service for a while but i do not recommend it, when you book a vehicle it may or may not be at the pick up point , the cars are dirty and badly serviced by the company, the customer service is bad and after a certain time there is no help available so if you have a breakdown or a puncture you are on your own, i recently had a vehicle hired and i could not find parking anywhere near the return base so i left it as close as i could legally and they charged me 170,00
so i terminated my account.
Van cancelled day of with no explanation or apology.
A week ago I booked a van for today in order to transport people and materials to a craft fair where said people were due to sell said materials.
This morning I get an automated email from GoCar confirming cancellation of my booking and informing me my refund was pending. I did not cancel.
I call GoCar and the (very nice) man on the phone explained that the van had a technical fault and wouldn’t be available. A couple of very inconvenient alternatives were available but by the time I confirmed with my passengers that these would work, these options were gone.
So in essence, cancelled on by GoCar the morning of the booking with absolutely no explanation or apology, and no alternatives secured by them. Now, as it’s Saturday afternoon, I can’t find a van elsewhere and my friends will miss the craft fair and therefore lose out on income.
Would extremely not recommend.

Hello,We have been surprised to see that when there is a problem with your car (medium fastening seat belt impossible to use due to a kind of button on it ), and therefore impossible to use the 5 places in it. I had previously proposed to go to another close gocar location and to exchange the car to a similar one, or to be allowed to try to bring the system above the button (with the risk of destroying the button...and hurting myself! !!!)
And the only answer was to bring back the car to its initial gocar location (victoria street/zion road in Dublin south) and to be refunded!It is unbelievable because we rent your car for a serious reason : we need to use it !
I have also explained on the phone that I have to walk around 15minutes to the initial location and I refuse to have to do it again AND to have to walk again to the 2d gocar location= again 15 -20 minutes.The lady on the phone was unable to allow me any compensation, I simply asked to have 30 minutes more at the end of the 24h hours booking!
The first time, I had to rent a go car, it was difficult to find it and even during day time, Nobody answered on your Gocar's phone !The last time I rented a gocar the fuel tank door was damaged and I was not sure it would be possible to open it.This time I had to find myself a solution by pulling strongly to place the system above the button on the belt (happily I did not hurt myself nor damage the belt)!Each time I rent a car, I also have to fill the tank!
The maintenance of your Cars is Your Duty, not customers'one!We should not spend time managing it on our rent.
I am not satisfied and I hope you will not continue like that!
car imobilised by company despite extending trip
We rented a van from Go Car and it was brilliant for transporting what we needed. I rang twice to extend the journey and was told both times it was extended for 24 hours - however during our trip driving in a busy street in the middle of the city centre the power was cut off and the car became immobilised in the middle of 2 lanes of traffic very almost causing a 4 car crash.
Thankfully we were able to let the car roll into a parking space however this was an extremely dangerous situation. When we rang back up they were sure we didn't extend the trip (hence why they immobilised the car) however after quite a lengthy call they admitted they had it wrong - as we rang twice and recorded confirmation both times that our trip was extended until the next day.
Otherwise very convenient for transporting goods etc and will definitely hire again. I would have hoped however that the company would have not immobilised a car whilst they knew someone was driving & would fact check before .
Terrible Experience do not use
So me and my gf used Gocar in Dublin. I had used them before with a decent experience. We wanted to go to Kerry and see around a bit we thought Gocar would be the most convenient option (although not the cheapest for long distances) anyhow all was good until we got a flat tyre 1h away or so from Dublin.
To our surprise there was no spare tyre so we had no option but to call support. First it was almost impossible to get someone on the phone, when we finally did they "transfer" us to a different team and nobody answered. In the end I managed to get hold of someone using the chat. They told us road assistance would come in 90min (it was 9pm on a sat evening,imagine). After almost two hours road assitance calls us asking abiut the issue, after we've explained our predicament they told us they didnt have the tools to fix the tyre and there was nowhere open to get what was needed. In the end, we had to call a tow truck to get the car and we had to take a taxi home(all this with nobody from Gocar on the other side and at 12am on a sat night). Now, after paying for the trip which they delegenty charge me for, they say is not company policy to refund for taxis (which is the least anyone would expect). After SOME complaining we got back 120eur (out of 190eur we spent on the taxi). They are saying they done a exception with us and paid half of the cost and 25eur for the inconveniences (i dont what to know what they do in normal cases). All these problems just because they didnt have a spare tyre (this doesnt seem to be company policy). Do not use them, if you have an issue with the car you are completely on yourown, imagine if you have an accident?!
Terrible service
Terrible service, the idea behind is good but unfortunately it is not run well. If you are depending on a car for a specific date and time, go with a reliable rental company, this one will cause you a headache. The customer service is not helpful and quiet useless in their job.
