Terrible experience with GoCar. I had an incident with one of their cars, filed the report, and followed all procedures, but after more than two months I’ve received no response. They never call back, never reply to emails, and offer no support. I even had to pay two thousand for the insurance without any final review of my case. Awful customer service.

I booked cargo van from 2 o clock,
When i took its puncture before i drive,
They told me take another van from different place,
I booked again, i got it @ 3oclock,
I am late in m50 traffic & i tried to extend the time tgey said another booking , i said i cant reach there on time, they extended the time and took 25euro extra(total 100 euro for 3hr) for inconvenience charge, when i call customer care they said they cant give the money back , then i said i am late because of the 1st van puncture, they just disconnected the phone,
The customer support person i talked , he has no idea about the go car things, he is there for just taking calls i thing.

Absolutely Awful Experience - A Complete Rip-Off
If I could give zero stars, I would. This is an absolute scam.
I had a flat tire, which can happen to anyone, but the way GoCar handled it was a disgrace. I was left stranded with a flat tire, and to make matters worse, there were no tools in the car to change it. While I had a spare tire, it was useless without a jack or a lug wrench.
They refused to compensate me for the lost time, even though it was an issue with their car, and on top of that, they made me pay for everything. My time was wasted, and I was charged for the privilege of being stranded.
This is a complete rip-off. I will never use their service again and I strongly advise everyone to stay away. Save your money and your sanity.

I read the Trust Pilot reviews and I was quite skeptical initially, looking at all those negative reviews.
But my experience was quite opposite.
The online chat facility was exceptional. Despite being a weekend/Sunday, there was a quick response to my queries and whatever issues I was having was resolved immediately.
No problem getting the car and driving it, locking and unlocking.
The online team was superb.
Very economical.
Everything was exactly the same way as it was in online Guide.
It was my first time using their service.

There’s one point I would like to raise. When we return the car and till next person hires the same car ( which could be next day) how do GoCar make sure that a overnight damage to the car will not be put under the last person who used the car ?
I submitted the pictures through the chat portal to register that there’s no damage to the car and the customer service accepted it and updated it in their system. This wasn’t in the App or guideline, but I innovated it just to be safe.
Car exterior was a bit dirty, but that is expected when multiple people use the car on daily basis.
Overall I was quite happy with the service.
Atrocious customer service
I booked a car for Wednesday August 6, at 6:30 from North Lotts Street in Dublin City, until Thursday August 7 at 18:60 (Booking no2199593). When I arrived at the vehicle at 6:30, I noticed the the vehicle had a completely flat tire. I had already started the car, and the trip had technically started although I did not drive anywhere, as the car was un-drivable.
I immediately called GOCar for support but since it was 'after hours' nobody answered. I basically had to report it as crashed to get anyone on the line. When I did finally get through, I was repeatedly put on "hold" - but actually, I was hung up on. Eventually someone put me through to a separate, unrelated auto service company, who informed me that they would be towing the car to a tire lot, which didn't open until 9:00. I did not have time to wait for GoCar to get it's tire sorted out, and felt that it is not my responsibility to accompany a car that was un-drivable by no fault of my own to a tyre lot and spend half the day waiting for this, all the while paying for a trip I wasn't taking in the car. I just left, and ended the booking. The online chatbot which I also contacted informed me that nobody was online, and that they would "get back to me when they were". They never did.
The whole thing took almost an hour and was extremely inconvenient as I missed my trip completely. The other cars were significantly more expensive.
Insane that they don't pick up for "emergencies". Still haven't heard from anyone, still waiting for a refund.

Used few times, first one very dirty car inside with pistachios everywhere and mud, second and third time dirty as well plus few damage inside and outside the car, few problems locking the last time the car after the journey. But phone assistance in the late evening really good

Awful: I have used this company for a good few years and they have a day rate for vans and yesterday I returned the van one hour after I said I would but it was within the day.
They charged me a €50 late fee even though the van was not booked out until the next day, This is it’s a very predatory move and when I asked them to remove the late fine they basically laughed at me…

My First GoCar Experience – A Mixed Bag with Room for Improvement
This was my first time using GoCar, and unfortunately, the experience was far from smooth.
App Issues:
Right from the start, the GoCar mobile app was problematic. It often failed to open, which made essential functions like locking and unlocking the car unnecessarily difficult. This was quite frustrating, especially when you're relying on a seamless app experience for a self-driving service.
Returning the Car – A Major Hassle:
The biggest struggle came while returning the car. I spent around 30–40 minutes trying to find a parking spot at the base location, but it was full. The only available space I found was about a 13-minute walk from the base, which I thought might still be acceptable.
Unfortunately, when I contacted customer support for guidance, they were unreachable by phone—apparently because I had called outside of their support hours. This made an already stressful situation worse. I finally managed to get through to someone via online chat, only to be told that I could not park at the location I found, as it was more than 10 minutes away on foot. They asked me to find a legal parking spot within that limit.
After nearly an hour of searching, I managed to find one that was approximately 11 minutes away. This entire ordeal was exhausting and frustrating, especially when you're trying to follow the rules and avoid penalties.
Vehicle Condition:
I rented the VW T-Cross Auto, which had noticeable pickup issues. For a first ride, this added to the overall disappointment.
Suggestions for Improvement:
Improve App Functionality:
The app needs to be more reliable, ideally with some level of offline support or at least a smoother loading experience.
Dedicated GoCar Parking:
Allocate exclusive parking spots for GoCar vehicles at base locations, where other vehicles are not allowed to park. This would significantly ease the stress of returning the car, especially in busy areas.
Nightmare Experience
On my first and FINAL time using the service, I booked an electric car that had been showing on the app at a charging station for over 24 hours. Picked it up, everything seemed fine-- since it was connected to the charger when I arrived, I didn't notice the car had only 3% charge (3 percent!) until I got an alert while driving less than 10 minutes. Pulled over, looked for an emergency place to charge. Found one, made it there, all chargers in use. Waited as long as I could before having to call a taxi to get to my appointments. GoCar says there's nothing they can do, no refund (except for a small "inconvenience" credit), and they refuse to go out and charge the car and return it themselves. They ruined my entire day, I almost missed my appointments, and I had to not only spend more money on Uber to get to my appointments but also to go back to collect the car and ALSO CHARGE IT on my personal time (or they would charge me again for failing to do so, they said! Unbelievable!) and then return it to the original spot. I DID NOT GET TO USE THE VEHICLE AT ALL. Worst company, worst customer service, would never use GoCar again ever under any circumstances.
EDIT: I can hardly believe this, but after going after the car, charging it, returning it plugged in to charge even more, and using the app to end the trip early, this morning we received an alert that the car was overdue and I had to phone them yet again. Just what I wanted, to spend more time dealing with this idiotic company. At least this second rep was polite.

Booking on the app was very difficult.it would not allow me to complete the booking and when I go back in to try and book it told me I had a booking.my profile showed no upcoming trips.i rang customer service and had great difficulty hearing the agent as a very loud female voice on another call drowned out my agent,then a third voice was competing on the call.i ended up with the booking for 3 instead of 4 hours.after 90 minutes in total trying to book I was offered to cancel.no assistance to find an alternate location.last time I used go car I arrived to a dirty van with a broken tail light.back to hertz hire for me.never an issue there.worth the extra money

En el mes de abril adquirí un vehículo Seminuevos, en la agencia de Seminuevos Toluca, ubicada en Tollocan, al adquirir el vehículo me comentaron que tenía adeudos en pagos de tenencia e infracciones, ya que la unidad tiene placas de CDMX, me comentaron que en un plazo de de 15 a 20 días me entregarían dichos documentos, esa información me la corroboró el gerente de Seminuevos el señor FRANCISCO ORNELAS, el cual hasta el día de hoy ha incumplido con la entrega de los documentos ya mencionados, le realizado visitas a la agencia, llamadas telefónicas, no atiende mensajes; algún día de tantas vueltas que he dado, lo encontré en la entrada de dicha agencia me me comentó que estaba ocupado en una junta y me hizo esperar dos horas, en ese lapso de tiempo llegó el gerente gerente general el señor trevilla, el cual amablemente me acompañó a seminuevos e instó al gerente de Seminuevos francisco Ornelas a atenderme, lo cual hizo de mal modo, es día y hora en que no me ha entregado ningún tiket de pago de la tenencia e infracciones de esto ha pasado más de 90 días y hoy me envió con un asesor de venta copia descargada de la tenencia sin recibo o tiket de pago, porque en eso no quedamos en que la agencia cubriría esos adeudos y me entregarían todos los deudos cubiertos, help me !!! Que alguien me apoye de grupo gocar … solo el asesor de ventas el señor Porfirio Garduño, me ha atendido amablemente, si van a la agencia pasen con el, es el único que apoya a los incautos que llegamos a esa agencia ( a los clientes) con el fin de tener un mejor vehículo,

Less than poor service, atrocious!
Booked a car to take a relative to hospital on a Saturday night. Booked intending to collect car within 30 minutes. When I got to the collection point, there was no car there. Couldn't contact anyone in Gocar, had to hire a taxi which cost me €90.
I emailed Gocar trying to get an explanation 4 days ago, no reply.
Not being able to contact anyone from the company, even on the emergency accident line, is a very serious issue.
I could not recommend this service, unless you wanted to make life difficult for someone!

Black Box Headford rd car park Galway plenty of space to park own car
June 2025 Black box Headford rd car park. Booked a Renault Traffic van for 4 hours to move some tables and chairs as well as over mantle mirrors and a grand father clock, as I had time and was passing Circle K I put diesel in that brought it up over half, hopefully the next user would appreciate that, returned the van an hour earlier than planned €60 I was happy with the van. Would use again
I was renting a van in Swords
I was renting a van in Swords. The vehicle was so dirty and many parts of the dashboard was damaged. There was dirt and cobwebs all over the inside of the van.
The engine light was on and there was no fuel in the van, with the closest Maxol garage 10km away. This is a large chunk of my time getting fuel and way out of my way when I only need the van for a couple of house.
