Clear and helpful support regarding a historical domain inquiry
I contacted GNAME customer support regarding a historical domain that had been used in connection with a cryptocurrency fraud case I reported to the police.
The support representative clearly explained that requests concerning historical registration or account records could not be handled through customer service or the standard abuse report process. I was also given the appropriate Compliance Department contact channel for formal requests from law enforcement, courts, or government authorities.
The explanation was clear and useful, and I was able to provide that information to the police in Japan.
Although my request itself could not be handled directly by customer service, I appreciated the clear and practical guidance provided.

I am writing this to warn every domain investor and user against dealing with Gname. For 7 agonizing days, I have been subjected to non-stop stalling, misleading promises, and total incompetence from their support team regarding a simple manual refund via PayPal following a crypto deposit issue.
Today, they went a step further: my account balance was officially deducted and marked internally on their dashboard as "The funds have been refunded through PayPal". However, this turned out to be nothing more than an internal accounting trick—NO funds have actually been sent to my PayPal account.
When confronted, support hid behind automated, meaningless templates claiming the request is "still with the Finance Department." Taking a customer's money off their balance while delaying the actual payout for a full week is completely deceptive. Competitors like Namecheap or GoDaddy handle payouts and refunds within hours with total transparency, whereas Gname holds your money hostage with continuous delay tactics.

Many of their hosted websites are doubtfull....
Many of the domains they host are not even companies, and they don't care what happens on their servers. I was approached, and scammed by one of their hosted domain. The domain is not even a company. They work through Telegram, and just keep a wallet on the GName server. GNames acts as the registrar, and they have MANY like that. They want proof, but the proof you send is not enough, and they stop the complaint. Very doubtful, and not serious or honest.
The reply of GName was really next to the point. They register for the domain owners. I assume they do it, because they feel there's nobody known by name. The company zibitcoin.com doesn't even exist, so who would register for that website. I'm not accusing anybody, the only thing I know that I lost money due to the crypto fraude tasks.

Fast, competent handling of a malware abuse report
I reported a typosquatted domain registered through Gname that was impersonating our site and distributing a Windows client containing a trojan — flagged by Kaspersky, ESET, DrWeb and several other engines on VirusTotal.
The first response was a standard request for a trademark certificate, which we don't have. I replied explaining that this wasn't a trademark dispute but a malware distribution case under ICANN's DNS Abuse framework, and provided the VirusTotal report and file hash. The team re-evaluated it on that basis and placed the domain on Client Hold.
What I appreciated: they were willing to look past the intake template and assess the actual evidence. Plenty of registrars would have closed the ticket the moment we said we had no registered trademark. Gname didn't, and a domain pushing a backdoor to end users is now offline.
One suggestion: the evidence upload step only accepts images, so there's no way to submit a file hash, a sandbox report, or the sample itself as text or an attachment. For malware cases specifically, that makes documentation harder than it needs to be.

Me estafó, me llegó un mensaje de correo y cuando entré puse mis datos y me salió de tenía que pagar $1500 pero para el correo Argentino y cuando pongo los datos de mi tarjeta, me empieza a sacar plata, me saco como $15.000, ( tuve que pausar la tarjeta)hasta ese momento no sabía que existía gname. Tampoco entiendo para que es. Pero yo quiero que me devuelvan la plata.Pero ya no confío . Cuando mando mensaje para hablar con gname me dice que no hablan español. Me pueden mandar un medio para poder comunicarme? Encima ustedes no se hacen cargo por lo visto. Los que reciben el pago es el comercio. Serían ustedes. Es rato porque acá se hacen los víctima.
