Zero stars

After ordering snes classic for Christmas, kids opened it up a week late. It would not power up, after finally contacting Max, he sent a new console. This one turned on, but the games were bery sluggish. Decided to just cut my losses snd return the product. I contacted Max to get instructions for a return. No answer. Finally found return procedure on the website. I sent it back 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing. I’m beginning to feel like I’m out $100 plus shipping. Do yourselves a favor, find another place to buy this.

Not worth your money

I’m pretty sure gamegear deletes comments (definitely the negative ones from their website!). They were super helpful and responsive until you buy their faulty product, after that they went completely silent! No way of returning either! After posting negative comments they started responding and sent me a card that was meant to improve play, which it didn’t too much. Horrendous customer service! This is not an honest company.

Final assessment: GREAT!

Update on previous review:

I purchased the snes famicon mini classic edition ultimate remake in December. The product didn’t work, and I worked quickly with Max fu to get the console returned. It was returned on Friday January 8, confirmed by tracking. In the time since, I have sent multiple emails to coordinate the timeline for the new console to be sent. I have received no replies. I’m looking for resolution to the agreement around the return of the defective console.

Update: Feb 5 2021

The replacement console finally arrived! Better yet, IT WORKS! It’s been a long but worthwhile process. These guys will take care of you! Thank you for all your hard work!

waited on refund for over a month

Been waiting on a refund for over a month and they have confirmed that they received the return. They stopped responding to my emails. Shady business. 2 star bc I did receive an item that works fine.

Update: Communication resumed after the bad review and explanation was only offered on the trustpilot page so it feels like it was more so to save face with future customers. Nevertheless I was refunded after the bad review so Im satisfied now.

Details

Update: The console itself works really well and has no issues. As for the second controller, the company did send out another to honor what the original description and box said. I would recommend ordering from them just make sure to read all the details and know the packaging may not be correct.

Original: I ordered a NES basic console which should have came with 2 controllers “as stated in the details” at the time I ordered and is also still stated and pictured on the console packaging. However when I received it, 2 weeks after it was supposed to be here, there was only one controller in the box. I emailed 3 different times over the last month and finally received a response to say “we haven’t been able to update the packaging yet, but the console now only comes with 1 controller and to read the page details.” Yes the page details now says 1 controller but at the time I purchased I know it said 2 because I specifically looked for that detail when ordering! I will not give this so called company any more money and you shouldn’t either.

Chinese scam or fraud

At first tried to order from their website. Their paypal account was closed. Asked them via msg and a day later they told me they have a Walmart seller account. Finally ordered a Nintendo on Dec 13. They created the mailing label and did not ship the item. By Dec 19 I got worried and asked them whether the item will arrive on time. They finally shipped the item on Dec 21 (8 days after the order that was "in stock"). The console never arrived, USPS showed shipping was delayed. Then in January they marked as delivered and I did not receive anything. I asked them to refund the purchase by Dec 29, and opened a credit card dispute on Dec 30. The merchant sent a message on January 11 that USPS should have delivered and I have to go ask USPS.
This is a chinese scammer (name is Max Fu from what I found online) who pretends to sell Nintendos in his free time. There is no real seller, no company, no customer care, no responsibility. This is just a guy who runs with your money.

Dorian, with the USPS website saying the package was delivered, and a credit card dispute already opened beforehand, there isn't much we can do. The simple fact is, you get your money back and we lost the product. Nobody has control over USPS and we are a legitimate business.

I have written several emails and never…

I have written several emails and never recieved a response. Snes games are at less than 1 fps and audio is horribly chopped to the point i cant tell what it is. I even tried the games that were tested to no avail. But the fact this is my second request for a review and i havent recieved a response to my several attempts in weeks leads me to leaving this review. I even gave a tip....

After review i was contacted about the issue and shipped a new memory card that has fixed the issue. Everything works now and i would recommend the product.

I purchased the Nintendo Dec 2020

I purchased the Nintendo w some 2000+ games Dec 2020, with the 2 controllers for my bf for Xmas. I was excited when we plugged it in and everything worked, with the exception of some games. It is a cool looking gift, he was surprised and loved it

UPDATE: 2/3 (Resolved) Unit didnt work-- Seller refuses to respond-- Beware!!

UPDATE 2/3/21- Seller finally responded again and agreed to send out a replacement unit. Unit arrived and is working without any issues. Although it took some time and multiple requests, seller did ultimately make things right and I am happy we finally were able to get this resolved

Update 1/21--Seller has gone MIA again- Said they would send a replacement out on Jan 10 and have had zero response since then. (Also was given the same bad response about the missing 2nd controller as others have posted when I asked about that) No tracking, no order confirmation yet after sending multiple requests. Very frustrating as I was a repeat customer. Sad too as there is a huge market for these and just very minimal testing(literally just to see the unit powers up and loads correctly after the SD card is loaded.. how could there be so many reviews for consoles showing up DOA?) and customer service could go a long way. I NEVER post bad reviews but feel like this is the only way to try and get thru to them. All I want is a working product. I have no problem updating this review if this is ever resolved but I am losing hope at this point

Update 1/10- Seller has responded and said they will send out replacement

Unit didnt work, wouldnt power on at all. Seller is MIA, wont respond to any requests for replacement or a refund. Buyers beware!!!!

Worst purchase in purchasing history

Worst purchase in purchasing history, I’ll never by front his company again. The Nintendo I bought was broken into pieces. I sent gamegear an email with pictures about a week ago and still have not heard back.
Gamegear is a trash website to by things from. Y’all suck

UPDATE 2/1 - Snes games playing better with new card

**UPDATE 2/1** Max and Gamegear sent an updated card which seems to be doing a better job with SNES games. it's not 100% perfect but given the improvement in some of the key games we wanted to play it is good enough. In my limited experience, Super Mario Kart works this time as does Super Mario World which both had not worked with prior card. Star Fox and Madden 98 still do not run well enough to play but overall the NES and SNES game experience has been good enough and with working games the kids are happy so i'm happy.

PRIOR REVIEW:
I bought this for my kids and the snes games are super laggy to the point where its unplayable. I emailed support twice and texted them and have not heard anything back. Very frustrating and disappointing.

It was holiday and our CS was off and we greatly appreciate your patience. The SNES performance can be fixed by a software update, we have sent you a new system card. Just replace the old MicroSD card and you are good to go.
