Gab seems like a free speech platform and brags as being one, so I joined. I never threatened anyone or posted any illegal or violent comments or content. Im conservative, a Trump supporter and a Bill of Rights activist. I never violated any of Gab's policies, and I really enjoyed being able to speak my mind, or so I thought... I woke up this morning, logged into Gab and Zuckerberg, excuse me... Torba had banned my profile for no valid reason. But of course, he reserves the right to ban you at "his discretion". So much for freedom of speech...
As for being a right wing site, I would have to disagree. Trump would do well to avoid Gab as he has no stronger supporter than myself, and this is how Gab treated me. I am not racist, nor am I violent. I don't support any groups that promote criminal activity. I have a petition to give Florida the ability to RECALL so we can remove anti-Constitutional politicians like Rubio, Wasserman-Schultz, Crist and others in Florida that oppose free speech and the Bill of Rights. I'm fighting to protect our Republic and the Constitution and Gab suspended me for it! I am Patriot party and an activist for American freedom. Yet I don't deserve to have a voice in Gab... I have seen violent content and people promoting hate in Gab and all I seek is freedom and I'm banned? Hypocritical to say the least...

This is where systemic racism is not only encouraged but preached. This app is used by racists and white supremacists and is dangerous for our societies.

I recently joined Gab and expected operational problems since they were undergoing unprecedented growth. My problem wasn't with technical issues, but rather when a new visitor would sign up for GabPRO which upgrades your account features and you have a distinctive visible identifier showing that you are subscribing and supporting the website, your payment is accepted then your account is not upgraded. When I tried to bring this up with help, I noticed my posting there disappeared. My priority on the site seemed to diminish to the point where I couldn't function at all without extreme difficulty, and I found myself basically talking to myself, I had no apparent visibility to others... and I paid for this... In the end I documented that I never received the service I paid for, and then deleted my account. Too bad, I think I would have been a good customer otherwise.

Tried to sign up for a GAB account today 15/1/21, but upon submission of the sign-up form, an error is returned saying I've used an "invalid email address". Dunno what that is about, but I assume that they have some badly coded filtering on the email text field which is incorrectly rejecting correctly formatted email addresses.

I always find it strange when coders do silly sanitisation on form field entry boxes. I see them from time to time on ecommerce checkout forms of smaller companies. For example... rejecting an entered telephone number, because it includes a space between the trunk code, and the local number. I mean, why don't the programmers just take the space out at the filter stage, if they don't want a space?

I've never seen my email address rejected as invalid before, by any site...?

Google/Wikipedia: "Gab is... a haven for extremists including neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and the alt-right.. ." Gosh I never in my wildest dreams thought I would fall into this category... just for standing up for free speech, the right to breath oxygen and not be medically experimented on!! Whoever said the Fascists of the future would call themselves Anti-Fascist were right. I am just grateful to have a place where Alternative Medicine & Vaccine Discussion Groups are not removed. Thank you Gab!!!

Free speech is valuable, even if you disagree with the other person.

Haven't used it for over a year. I wanted somewhere to escape the MSM and online left dominance, but some Gab members were extreme on the other political side. As soon as I had an independent opinion I got attacked for not being right wing enough. I realised it's just as pathetic as anywhere online. OK maybe not as bad as Twitter, Reddit, Facebook etc. But even these free speech platforms eventually become circle jerks and unfairly appose opinions.
I had a look on it again and apparently nearly 2 million had signed up in 5 days. It doesn't look as bad as it was. May give it another go.

Although the site is currently laggy due to the new influx of users, Gab is getting their own hardware to ensure uptime. Although people are quick to call this network far-right, Gab advertises that you, the user are the consumer and not the product being sold, that they promote and encourage "free speech". What this means, is your political views won't get you banned from this network however, if you promote or get involved in illegal activity (contrary to what the guardian and other media outlets suggest), you will be banned.

The only thing that can be improved would have to be the website's news. It should have various categories and "politics" being one of them, rather than every new article being blown in your face. This could be a start to encourage people regardless of their political views to join Gab.

Funny how people who go looking for 'bad' things are upset when they find them. The left has been raised to embrace "Political Correctness" which is a code word for "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" but which represents no idea or mechanism for actually addressing the cause of the topics that "Political Correctness" sweeps under the rug. The rug has a lumpy mess under it now after politicians have swept reality under it for 60 years in the name of "Out of Sight, Out of Mind."

As "ThatOldLibOnGab" I was a Gab member from just after the November 2020 election until January 6, 2021. I made numerous quality posts during that time and many times even received "likes" from conservatives. On my last day I was very critical of the Capital attack in D.C. and suddenly without notice or explanation my account was deactivated ("You don't have permission to view this page" everywhere) and all my Gabs were deleted. The owners of Gab have the right to implement any moderation policy they choose but their claims of "freedom of speech" are blatantly false.

Unlike the other big tech social media platforms, it's not about censoring freedom of speech. The interface is fairly clean and posting functionality is far better than the platform with the blue bird logo.

I'm by no means an influencer on social media, but I'm considering Gab Pro to show support and possibly to also try and get the nice blue checkmark on my profile, since I don't see any way to invest shares currently.

Blocks you when you say something they disagree with.. But yet claim they are about free speech. Its full or horrible people with horrible ideals.

I have tried at least a minimum of a DOZEN times to get help with my PRO account and every email has landed on deaf ears.

I think greed has taken over and customer service for PAYING CLIENTS has gone to the wayside.

I will NEVER donate to them ever again!

Been on the Gab for awhile now and I can't imagine ever using any other platform to engage with. I am not the product here, Gab is, and by golly they've stood their ground. I have complete control of what I see on my feed. I have unfettered access to all MSM editorials and information that tech ogliarchs might not want you to share. If you are not breaking the law, you are free to say what you think. To be honest I was shocked when I fist signed up with Gab, the complete freedom was unnerving, then I thought, freedom isn't just physical in nature. Sure, I can buy what i want, go where i want but not say what i want? I have to think quietly lest i offend someone? Not any more.
