Goede ervaring met Firsty!

Firsty uitgeprobeerd voor 2 weken in Canada, werkte super! Instructies voor het opzetten van de eSIM waren erg duidelijk in de app en op de website. Ik had het Comfort+ pakket specifiek voor in Canada en daarmee kostte het 1.80EU per dag om te internetten. Snelheid en coverage was prima, en gewoon super relaxed dat je na touchdown meteen lekker connected bent!

It’s a scam/ update

It’s a scam, they give a good price €1/day if you buy for 30 days. When you want to add more days after, the price is almost double €1,90/day if you buy 30d.
After contacting Firsty, they say prices per county can vary. Strange, if I use my other eSIM where I not yet bought days, the price is €1/day if I buy 30d. So they also lie in the chat. And when I confronted Firsty the disappear.

I received a mail with apologies and compensation, what I appreciate. But all this wasn’t necessary if customer service, had listen and took action to investigate from the first mail. So thats why my score is now 3 stars instead of 1.

Sorry to hear you feel this way, we totally understand your frustration. Our pricing is based on local rates, and while we aim to keep it consistent, there can be differences between countries or over time. We definitely don’t intend to mislead anyone.

If you saw €1/day in one country and €1.90/day in another, that’s likely due to local cost variations. But if there’s been a misunderstanding or you feel you were given incorrect info, I’d love to look into it personally.

I had big issues. On second try it worked well.

I had issues, after escalation, everything was resolved. At first, I had a terrible experience. Bought 1 day Premium tier for Czechia and the connection was extremely intermittent, giving out for hours at a time in a place with good coverage. The customer service was not helpful, responding with huge delays, no notification of new response and in the end I got basically no value out of my money. They said later (after my subscription expired) that they somehow fixed it. Later, I was contacted directly by their sales rep, who apologized for the technical issues and the delays in customer support. I agreed to give Firsty another shot during my trip to Ukraine. This experience was much better. The only outage for 1,5 hours was a global one for the large telco from whom they buy service. All in all, you may run into some issues, but hopefully in this unlikely case, you will get support to help you.

4 countries, 4 people different experiences

Overall I want to say it has been a great experience to be in 4 different countries and not having to change the SIM, it has been almost seamless for all of us except for one of my sons.
Let's start from the beginning, I contracted 4 eSIMs with Comfort+ for the 4 of us, with same characteristics, EU, UK, USA and Dominican Republic.
Connectivity in EU and UK has been good 4G mostly but very slow speeds, max 4Mb download, enough when you are moving around, when we were in USA it worked mostly except when we were underground, although most people around were using their mobiles we could not, I know because my teenagers sons were complaining all the time we went into the subway.
For a couple of days that we were in Niagara (US) it did not work, I contacted 24h support and they managed to do something and it went back working.
But since that point the connection from one of my sons stopped working, he was the only lucky enough to have 5G connectivity most of the time, the support managed to apply something and he got connectivity for one day but next day same issue, and then we went to Dominican Republic (main reason to use Firsty as many others don't cover that area) and whether 3 of us had connectivity, VERY POOR but connection, even after contacting support and making changes, but my son did not get it, he could not have connection outside of the wifi. So it was a bit of nightmare to him.
Anyway as I said overall the experience was good, the connection slow but enough for most of the needs, but we had one of our sons with very bad experience, still rating it as 4 as the support helped when there were issues except with the final country.

Great Value and Solid Performance – Even Better Support. But not AI

I’m currently using Firsty while in Turkey, and it’s been a fantastic experience. My UK provider, Vodafone, was charging £7.00 per day for roaming – instead, I disabled my SIM at the airport and activated Firsty. For just €15.50, I got 15 days of solid 4G coverage with no need for Wi-Fi. It’s been fast, reliable, and simple to use.

I also signed my wife up, but unfortunately lost the referral discount due to a hiccup with their AI chat bot. Thankfully, a real support staff member quickly stepped in, agreed the discount should be applied, and resolved it without any hassle. That kind of service builds trust.

If you want a 5-star review: do away with the AI chat bots. They only get in the way when real help is needed.

Highly recommended for travel – affordable, easy to set up, and great support when you reach a human.

Absolut empfehlenswert!

Ich habe die Empfehlung für die Firsty-App von einer Person bekommen, die diesen Dienst bei ihren Weltreisen permanent nutzt.
Und... Ich habe es nicht bereut! Eine simple und intuitive Installation, tolles Interface, schneller und zuverlässiger Chat-Service durch die Mitarbeiter!

Zum Anfang hatte ich ein Einrichtungsproblem mit der eSIM-Karte auf dem Smartphone. Schon in der Nacht habe ich mich damit beim Chat-Kundendienst gemeldet. Die reagierten sofort, waren super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Und es war definitiv KEIN KI-Bot. Das Problem war leider etwas kompliziert, ich musste immer wieder die Screenshots senden und es dauerte mindestens eine Stunde, bis wir eine Lösung gefunden hatten. Die ganze Zeit über wurde ich nett und geduldig vom Personal begleitet. Einfach top Service - danke!

Letztlich hat es alles geklappt und ich hatte mit Firsty einen wunderbaren Empfang fast überall auf den Seychellen. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Installing the eSIM was…

Installing the eSIM was straightforward, no issues there. The problem is the false and misleading ad. The free tier says the following:

Watch an ad to unlock free data for email, maps, WhatsApp, and iMessage.

The fact is the speeds are just too slow at 256 kbps to actually access any of these services (I did not) despite trying. It's effectively useless and don't let any reviewer say otherwise. I work in IT!

The other is their claim they have a 4.6 rating on Trustpilot when it's 4.3 with mostly a reviewer with a one or two review history.

Free tier is only good for one thing and one thing only: Uber.

Firsty helped me in a great way…

Firsty helped me in a great way chatting online when my phone settings were not right. After cleaning and resetting my phone, deleting all e-sim cards and re-installing Firsty, I even got my running contract back without extra charges. Great service !

Issue with eSIM, but great support and resolution

Updated Review:
I initially had issues with the eSIM — it showed as active in the app but didn’t work, and after removing it to try again, I found out I couldn’t reinstall it without paying. At the time, this wasn’t clearly communicated.

However, Conrad was very responsive once I reached out. He acknowledged the issue, offered a replacement, and even upgraded my plan for my upcoming trip at no extra cost. He also confirmed they’re improving the app and communication around eSIM removal.

Great support, and I’m happy to give Firsty another try!

I was trying out their eSIM a few weeks ago but didn’t use it for a while. As we're about to travel soon, I decided to try it again, but the eSIM was no longer functioning—even though the app showed it as active.

I didn’t want to bother support right away, so I tried to solve the issue myself by removing everything and starting fresh. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake: reinstalling the eSIM isn't possible without buying a new one.

My account was still active, but the app wouldn't let me install a new eSIM. Only after contacting support did I learn that I had to purchase a new one. It’s only €0.90, but out of principle I don’t think I should have to pay for something that broke due to a technical issue on their side. Also, they should have communicated clearly that deleting the eSIM from your phone would mean you can’t get a free replacement. Had I known, I would’ve asked support to troubleshoot instead of trying to fix it myself.

So, just a heads-up: don’t delete your eSIM if it’s not working. You might end up paying the price for a technical issue and poor communication.

You’re absolutely right: we should have communicated more clearly in the onboarding of the app and our FAQs that deleting an eSIM makes it impossible to reinstall without purchasing a new one.

Misleading and false advertising

The website is very misleading. It shows "Comfort+" includes 1.5GB of high speed data that slows after that has been used. However, customer service will tell you that it's actually only 500MB of data and they refuse to acknowledge the misleading information on their website

The support here was wrong, the data cap is indeed 1.5GB, but the confusion comes from the fact that it is a tiered system, and after 500MB, the speed is deprioritised somewhat, but not fully throttled. I'm sure our support has confused that with full throttling. But even with full throttling, the speed you posted about should not be happening. Some structural changes are being made to increase the customer experience.

In Azerbaijan hat es tadellos funktioniert

In Azerbaijan hat es tadellos funktioniert, ich habe die Free-Variante benutzt und so alle 30 Minuten eine Werbung geschaut, wenn ich Internet gebraucht habe. Geschwindigkeit war für ChatGPT, Google Maps, Bolt völlig in Ordnung.

Seitdem ich die eSim von Firsty auf…

Seitdem ich die eSim von Firsty auf meinem Samsung installiert habe, kann das Gerät keine Verbindung zu den übrigen (physischen) Simkarten mehr herstellen. Datennutzung und Telefonie ist also nicht mehr möglich. Die eSim lässt sich auch nicht mehr löschen!!! Auch der Support konnte mir nicht weiterhelfen und die eSim entfernen.

Superfijne app! Top om te gebruiken tijdens vakanties en reizen. Werkt in meerdere landen erg soepel en het is erg goedkoop omdat je alleen voor de dagen betaald dat je het gebruikt.

Struggled to register but works like a charm afterwards

I would have put a 5 stars experience if the registering process had been smoother. I ordered an 8 day plan on the website for a trip in Canada put I wasn't able to login on the app for a couple of days afterwards.

The customer service by chat, while being very nice couldn't help in the first place. I was a bit disappointed as I thought I couldn't be able to use the plan I paid for. But 2 ou 3 days later I could login and everything worked like a charm, the 8 day plan was waiting for me to activate. I'm glad I made the order a week before departure.

I think that if you do everything through the app (I subscribed and made the order via the website), the registration must be more straightforward and I suggest to anticipate the subscription (a week before is fine).

So, despite that registration process issue, everything was fine. The 1.5Gb/day at fast speed was more than sufficient and worked very well in Montreal, CA and the surroundings. It's easy to use and I'm happy to know that I now have a plan for almost every place I may go, slow and free or fast and kinda cheap.

ZiggoGo en Videoland werken niet in het buitenland

Firsty voor het eerst in het buitenland (Duitsland) gebruikt. Werkt opzich goed. Ik wil ook streamen, ZiggoGo, Videoland werken helaas niet. Firsty blijkt zijn server in Engeland te gebruiken en dat is een niet EU land.
De chat-support is direct beschikbaar wat fijn is. Al snel krijg je in de gaten dat er iemand helpt die het probleem niet begrijpt. Ik heb Firsty een mail (24 mei) gestuurd en nog geen reactie ontvangen. Jammer, toch maar weer terug naar mijn betrouwbare MiFi met Vodafone sim.

Fijn om te horen dat de verbinding in Duitsland over het algemeen goed werkte en dat je onze directe chat-support waardeerde.

Wat betreft Ziggo GO en Videoland: je hebt gelijk dat sommige streamingdiensten locatie-afhankelijk zijn en kunnen blokkeren als het IP-adres uit het VK komt. We werken eraan om dit soort beperkingen beter te communiceren én op termijn te verbeteren.

Wat minder goed ging — zoals je ervaring met onze klantenservice en het wachten op reactie per mail — nemen we serieus. Dat had beter gemoeten. We zijn momenteel druk bezig met het verbeteren van zowel onze support als het platform zelf.
