Ordered a POS system that came with everything, ready to go out the box from EPOS

Was not aware they opened a contract with this company

When I got a new pos system, I had to go through 4 different companies to close my account with evo

Upon doing so, was charged 495$ as they never received a notice to close an account 90 days in advance

Avoid this company like the plague - literally no one is happy with them

If I could give a no star rating …. I would!! This company is a complete fraud. Do not use!!!!!!!

Terrible company full of scams. Look on all these bad reviews, they don't even reply. They don't care, they are out to steal from your business.

Very dishonest practices, dishonest contracts and sales, they raise your rates without letting you know, hidden fees and awful costumer service.

I wouldn’t recommend EVO to anyone not even my worst enemy. We are finally canceling with them after 2 years of every month the fees being different. We have paid from 50.00 a month to 400.00 a month no small business can do that. They can’t explain your monthly fees bc they say it changes every month. We have called numerous times and tried to get an explanation for the huge amount taken out of our accounts but they always say they alerted us in our statements and emails which we never got one time during the two years with this pathetic company if that is what you would even call it. It’s a scam you will be ripped off and unfortunately we had to learn the hard way so please go elsewhere.

We are a small organic farm trying to grow healthy food for are area. We have had the most unbelievable experience WITH Evos. They are very unethical and unprofessional. They always have an answer for screwing you. Went to cancel our services after 3yrs and found out that we needed to cancel by first if January so now we were in another 3yr contract. Going to cost us $495 to cancel it. Plus they ripped us with a supposedly free wireless reader to use at farmers market. Went to return that and cancel that account. Ended up since we returned the reader late, they charged up with $695 event hough they did receive equipment, plus a;$495 fee for canceling that account. I have a lot of notes, so I'm looking into further action against them. Oh, found out they have been taken over by another company recently. Don't ever do buisness with them

As far as I can tell, this company has a criminal pattern and practice of giving its customers the “run around” as a way of avoiding its legal obligations. I owned a small, successful, auto repair business in Denver Colorado. I was a customer of Evo Payments for over 12 years, and had 3 “chargebacks” during that time, all of which we won. I closed my business in September, 2022, and won the last chargeback dispute shortly thereafter. Evo placed the funds that were once in dispute into a “reserve account” and has refused to provide my money to me, despite repeated phone calls and correspondence with them. On September 8th of 2023 I received a letter from them asking for information necessary to disburse the funds, and which, informed me that they were going to charge my “reserve account $90 a month unless I provide them with that information! I promptly provided them that information in the form of a letter, and THE RUN AROUND CONTINUED! I’ve since called them multiple times, and have been given all sorts of inaccurate and untrue explanations, including: “we issued you a check” , “we attempted to wire the funds into your account, but the wire failed” “we will have someone in dispute resolution get right on this and call you”… that are no doubt on their pathetic customers service representative’s “run around script”. I am reporting them to the FTC and the Consumer Protection Agency, and will file a lawsuit against them this week. In the meantime they have held my money, earned through my hard work, for over 13 months. They are reprehensible!

Do not use this company. I wish I had read the reviews prior to sighing a contract.
The hidden dues and fees is astounding. Two pages worth of fees!! I am a small company and I can't absorb these fees so I discontinued my account only to be charged another $495 for early termination. I will save that amount of money in two months with Square.

All business owner avoid this company if you can. I cancelled my account after being a customer for 13 years due to hidden fees/charges. A few months later I was billed an early cancellation fee totaling $1400 for a portable machine which was useless and the other payment system. When I called to cancel my service, the customer rep never disclosed this fee nor that I had 90 days after notifying them to avoid this fee. EVO Payment system does not value their client as they should, because if they did, they would have been more transparent about their fees & monthly charges. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!

My name is Michael and I’m a small business owner that is part of a network of karate schools that use EVO for our payment processing. Our schools are aimed at helping youth learn valuable lessons early on in life. We have been customers for many years

We use EVO because the school management software we use requires it. However, we are moving to a new software that better meets our needs plus saves us money, which as a small business owners, is critical to us being able to provide for our families.

The new software uses Stripe so we need to migrate from EVO to Stripe. We found out that to do this, EVO wants to charge each of our schools (each with a different mom or dad that owns it) $750 plus $1.25 per card. I was shocked by this because for someone whose livelihood is the school, this is a significant cost. I reached out to some other SMB owners I know and they say they’ve done this but the fee was always fixed and less than $400.

I was hoping you’d be able to help us and myself migrate from EVO to Stripe at a much more palatable cost.

So I signed a 3 years contract. Great. Never had a problem with yall always work ok. But apparently when u sign a contract they have another small area 13A on contract that said after yall 3 Yeats Co tract we gonna renew for you with out letting you know. So I went to cancel after the 3 years and surprise, I signed in 2020 that contract that they would renew my account.

So I canceled they didn't tell me anything about this. After 1 week I received a bill $495 for late fee cancelation.

Never again Never recommended to a friend. The worst. Steeling by contract. Worst costumer service to not even let me know u gonna get charge when u cancel

The POS system I chose came with a 1 year contract with EVO. 1st year was ok, some overcharges but the 2nd year was constant overcharges, the customer service has gotten worse and worse. None of their cust serv numbers work, emails unanswered, worse are their undisclosed auto renew contracts. I've had enough of this miserable rip off company.

Use literally ANY other company! I was robbed by evo payments for years. Hidden fees, contracts that auto renew and horrible customer service. Beware! You've been warned!

scam alert this company will debt your account for life tried to cancel account due to using a diff processor gave me run a round for 1 year debted my acc every month with out providing any service over 4k lost

After being a loyal customer for over 3 years I was hit with all sorts of unnecessary bills after trying to stop their subscription. Companies like this should be shut down by the government and the people in charge should be barred from employment and sent to prison never to see the light of day.

The place to go if you want to be ripped off FOREVER!!! NO WAY TO SHUT ACCOUNT! You will keep paying tons of $$ FOREVER. Staff are mean, threatening, unhelpful and vicious. They will debit your checking account FOREVER! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! They billed me for months after I stopped using them & threatened to bill me $500 for equipment they never gave me. They are dangerous to your business & they helped kill mine. BEWARE!!!

Absolutely worst experience with a company I have ever had. STAY AWAY FROM EVO! My business was destroyed by a fire on March 9th 2021. Lost everything. Joe Fink with Piedmont Cash Register referred me to EVO. After the fire Joe and I via a 3 way call spoke with EVO Payments and informed them of the situation. They assured me that the account would be closed and that they would assist in getting me setup with my temporary location until my new location was established. Once my new location was established we Joe Fink and I made another 3 way call and had everything closed and switched over to the new location. We sent the equipment back to them. They sent all new equipment to the new location. On April 15th 2023 I noticed the charges were high. After calling EVO I was informed that I was being charged for ALL THREE ACCOUNTS. I called Clover and pulled their equipment immediately. Clover installed their equipment on the 17th. I called EVO Payments on the 17th and closed all accounts with them. Then the hit my account with 3 separate charges of $495.00 them 3 times after that they charged my account an additional $250.00 they took over $2000.00 in a month. AFTER I DEMANDED they take nothing from my account. My bank couldn’t help against these thieves because of the coding that EVO Payments used for the transaction. EVO Payments refuses to help me in any way shape or form. I had to close my account at the bank to stop them from taking anything else.

I recently cancelled my account after being a customer for 12 years. A month later I was billed a $495 "early cancellation" fee. I was never told about this fee and how can it be considered an early cancellation after 12 YEARS! This is the exact reason I cancelled my account. They continually add more and more fees to your bill until it makes no sense to use them anymore. Avoid this company.

After 10 years you cancelled me? And you're holding 10% of my money for 6 months? Plus, crazy big fees that creep up! Don't use this company.

As a loyal customer who never had any issues with their account. This company ended up holding my money for 3 months. Worst company stay away find anyone but them
