Eckman dont go there.
At well over 75 years old as you can imagine I have dealt with many companies. Without doubt Eckman is the worst by far.
I ordered a long reach hedge trimmer almost two years ago. I cut my hedge once before lockdown, everything seemed fine. When I came to use it again in May this year it would ony run intrmittently. On checking with Eckman and online it seemed that it could be the dual pole trigger switch. I asked Eckman if they had a switch, theyfinally said yes. After a few days to confirm if they had it in stock I ordered one £2.99 but the postage with Hermes was disappointing @ £4.99 for an item the size of your finger end. I was told it would take 5 days. I did ask if ( because I waned to use it over the Jubilee break) could it be posted in a padded bag for a couple of pounds, I was told no as ALL our items are posted out at £4.99. I think I paid £12.99 in the first place, so that was a lie.
When the switch finally arrived,6 days later 2 switches plus postage £10 97 I set to work fitting one. Oh dear it still did not work. I decided to strip down the electric motor only to find that the brushes were worn out. Bear in mind the hedge trimmer had only been used twice.
I phoned Eckman again and was told the machine was out of warranty, even though in their writing it clearly say 2 years. They said motor brushes are not stocked (a wear out item) and could not be ordered, a joke.....

I am now stuck with a hedge trimmer that is no good to anyone.
How are people allowed to sell machines that are not reliable, is it all about profit and not customer service. I though that a supplier had a duty of care to keep a spare parts stock.
I am disgusted with this company and suggest that if you want to buy reliable garden equipment with a good back up service LOOK ELSEWHERE. I certainly won't buy another Eckman product.

This company is awful! Shoddy product and took ages to get refund which eventually had to come from my credit card company.

I bought a lawn mower from Eckman which came with a battery and I also bought a spare battery. After only two weeks the lawn mower would not work. To start with the grass collector never stayed on the lawn mower and then the handle seized up and got stuck. I was less than a week over the 30 days refund period. I explained that the delay was due to my dad, having dementia and communication difficulties, and not understanding how to return or contact for a refund. On explaining this to Eckman’s they had no sympathy and that I would only get a replacement. I am a sole Carer who works full-time and delays happen. I explained that I did not want another lawn mower, as apart from it being broken, it is of very poor quality, it is like a toy lawn mower, very plastic and flimsy. I also have to spend over £20.00 and organise a courier to return the two separate parcels. Customer Service is beyond rubbish, all they care about is taking the money and making plastic, poor quality items. Surely it should be the trader’s responsibility to collect or pay for postage when returning an item that was never fit for purpose.

Please Please Please don't buy from this company. The companies they sell your data to are unreal. I am being literally bombarded with huge amounts of physical junk mail, brochures, begging letters, magazines. All for absolute tat. And all from companies that have been sold my data by Eckman - worst company I've ever dealt with.
Just to the product i bought from them was absolute garbage and went from unwrapping it to going straight in the bin as it wasn't even worth the cost of returning it

They took several debits from my bank account last year i have never purchased anything from them. They are tied in to several other companies owned by the same scammers. Including Healthy for life and Stauer watches..When will the Trading standards stop these people from robbing us...just read all the bad reviews.

Disappointed with Eckman, initial order arrived 2 months late… no correspondence had to chase them…and box was extremely damaged. Put the Telescopic hedge trimmer together and it kept cutting out when it moved from side to side. Customer service were good, arranged collection and replacement. New product arrived, but instruction manual was for a Branch Lopper. It states lightweight product, but it is heavy and awkward to use. Not impressed.

Think this is a scam business; there is not customer service. Send out rubbish, will not refund, will not accept returns, phone number ae for all centers not company and as for 30 refund total nonesense

Sold my details to a number of different places without my consent.

I have received excellent service from Eckman relating to a replacement item. Their response was quick and accurate. This is a genuine comment.

Still waiting for telescopic hedge trimmer paid for 48 hr delivery emailed company twice still no contact how can this company be allowed to trade and rip people off

I bought a cordless strimmer off Eckmans, which i recieved then had to pay extra £69.99 for the battery and charger pack as well as £4.69 for next day delivery! That was in June and ive not heard or seen anything even after speaking to a tele sales girl who informed me they dont have express delivery? Even though i paid it. What do i do? Im disabled and needed it during the summer months now im stuck with a strimmer i cant use and they haven't contacted me at all, but the cash came out of my bank?? Help please

I ordered an outdoor paddington station clock for £24.99 plus p&p. The very next day I tried to show my husband what I had ordered and the clock was nowhere to be seen on the website except a similar but smaller clock for £39.99 plus p&p. The order confirmation had an email address which it said I should email if I had any questions regarding my order. I emailed them 3 times but no reply and I never received the item I ordered instead a different clock came which was tiny which I have the hassle of returning. They basically conned me into ordering it then sent me something different. Terrible company I would never use again!

This was eventually sorted after I had left my previous review

I later received a e mail offering to send me the correct item and arrange delivery for the incorrect item
I'm giving them 4 now as they did resolve this after that time and did arrange collection of the leaf blower they had sent me instead of the leaf shredder vacuum which I ordered

In the end I did receive the correct product

I hope Eckmam continue to work on providing good customer service so customers faith is restored and they receive good reviews from now on

I recently bought twelve fruit trees. Not only were they all completely dead when they arrived, but I have since left four messages and no one has got back to me. Wish I'd read these reviews before I made the order..... appalling product and customer service

I made the mistake of purchasing a long reach hedge cutter from Eckman it eventually arrived 10 day’s after ordering it. Upon removing it from the box it revealed what a poor quality item the hedge cutter is.
Please don’t make the mistake I made purchasing this item.

Without even going into the issues I’ve had with customer services regarding our order. The product has now arrived and is absolutely shocking. Please do not use this company!

I would not recommend this company to anyone, I bought three fruit trees from Eckmans 2 of which were just expensive sticks, after emailing several times and sending photos of expensive sticks I have had no response. I have given up trying and would not recommend them at all. I would not even give them 1 star if there was the option to give minus stars!!

Terrible company. Bought 3 fruit trees from them. A thumbnail scrape of the bark indicated that 2 of the trees were dead. Hardly surprising as one had very few roots and the other had no roots at all - it was a stick. Emailed the company twice about the trees and received no reply. Wish I had checked the company out via Trustpilot before buying from them.

I ordered 2 sets of 3 pillar fruit trees on 13 July. When they arrived they looked like sticks with barely any root on most of them. Nevertheless I duly soaked them and then planted them. I did however email support@eckman to complain. To date I have had no response.

The 2 apples have developed shoots. After some research I learnt that if you scrape the trunk section, about halfway up, gently with a thumbnail and it is green, the plant is alive. If it is brown underneath, the plant is dead. I tried this on my trees and sure enough my 2 apple trees with shoots are green but the other 4 trees are all brown and woody underneath so they are dead.

I rang Customer Services and was asked to carry out the above test. I advised them I had already done this and 4 trees are dead. I was told I needed to take photos of my trees and email them to support@eckman. This I have done, asking for a refund as according to my paperwork "customer satisfaction is guaranteed" within 30 days. I mentioned that I had already complained by email and had no response and I was told there is no specified response time.

Wish I had read these reviews before purchase as I definitely would not have bought from them. I am not convinced I will get a refund without a fight!

Very poor service . Despite promises to respond to emails within 24 hours , 3 emails sent no response . Charge to take calls and then staff member puts phone down . 3 trees bought 1 doing very well 1 looking poorly 3 has died . Don’t use this company
