My fiancé and I got creation crate to learn more about electronics and programming. We really enjoy the product and would recommend it to anyone with a warning that the material doesn’t explain to well why and what things are. If someone has access to the internet they can see what a resister or LED does, why they use some code, and any math needed to calculate voltage. I wish the crate would have that in the booklets. They do however have a classroom online so that helps.

I live in France and subscribed at Creation Crate for one year to give the opportunity for my grandchildren's to create themself special project. That was done with Creation Crate. Everything was fabulous the shippings always on time and received without any problems. Lots of thanks for the team and big kisses from France. Joëlle and Alphonse for our little childrens

My son is 11 and in 6th grade in a virtual home-based charter school in northern Wisconsin, and we were looking for a way to bring electronics and computer programming into his curriculum. We are very pleased with our 6 month subscription after completing the first two projects (Mood Lamp and Memory Game). The projects have all worked, he gets all the components each time, and he looks forward to them. As a parent, the customer service is wonderful - I have received personal, polite, and helpful email responses within 24 hours to all my inquiries. We are very pleased with the product, and would recommend this to anyone interested in computer programming and electronics, and also to those who appreciate good customer service.

A little frustrated to say the least. Loved the idea but the execution is severley lacking. We pre-ordered the year subscription on Indiegogo for a 2017 Christmas gift and after some delays the first box didn't ship until May 30th of 2018. The subscription was for a 15 year old who has already done an AM/FM Radio that required soldering.

The first project, a mood lamp, arrived in June 2018. This was a simple introduction to the basics needed to understand electronics and software. This worked fine and the kid was starting to get excited about the next box.

Second project came in July 2018. This project was the alarm clock. Unfortunately this didn't work due to a problem with the Real Time Clock. A user forum for the projects would be tremendously helpful for situations like this. After triple checking all of the connections and the code he gave up. Searching the site for any help on any of the individual projects came up with nothing.

August - no project.

The third project came in September 2018. This was a robot starter kit. While writing this I searched the site for any information on this kit and still can't find anything. Google searches turn up next to nothing outside of marketing links. At this point he is losing interest in the projects.

October - no project.

It's now November 2018 and we have 3 of the 12 projects. Poor project support and none of the perks we were supposed to receive.

I can't suggest this to anyone until these issues are resolved.

Sorry haven't received our first project yet , but friends have and the projects are great. My child can't wait to receive his project!!

I liked all of them. If I had to choose one, I'd say the weather station was my favorite. I prefer to make things with a practical use.

So far I've only received the mood lamp. The packaging was great, very clever.

Both Creation Crate and their other brand, Girls that Make, have inspired my girls to code. It's fantastic to see them working on such amazing projects!
The Girls that Make cloud pillow has proven to be a very popular creation in our home. Our favourite Creation Crate so far has been the Mood Light.
We thought at first we'd need to help, but the instructions are so good our girls (9&12) can do them solo. And that's the only problem for me (I'd like to give it a go too).
Absolutely worth the money (& shipping isn't cheap in Australia, but it's still worth it).

I really enjoy it and it's challenging but fun. My favorite projects so far are the lock box, weather station, distance detector, and strength gauge. The best part is going through the curriculum and coming up with ideas for your own projects to put together based on what you've learned.

So far we've only completed the mood lamp, and we're having issues getting the coding to work, but we're not giving up on it!

I just received my 3rd box and I'm very confused.
I started learning code by myself and with different good websites. I slowly begin to understand and to make tiny project. When I heard about these box, I was very excited : it was the perfect way to put my learning in reel project !
Since I received the 1st box, it has been disappointing : I don't fully understand what I'm doing as it's lacking explanation, many components are missing, the holes in the box don't fit (project 2), the code DOESN'T WORK (project 2). I've even downloaded the 'solution' and it has the same issue that I have with libraries.You learn a lot by doing and solving mistakes but before, you need to know a bit what you're doing to begin building solution. As it's the 1st time I'm using libraries, I'm lost, I tried many solutions, putting my boyfriend's knowledge and mine to solve the issue, read countless of forum and websites, without success.
I haven't starting the 3rd project yet as I haven't finished the 2nd.
I'm still hoping it'll get better as I have a one year subscription...

The crates are wonderfull, but my last crate was the RFID Reader, my subscription has renewed and i don't receive any crate

I bought this subscription for my son who has absolutely loved each month! He’s so excited to get his package, and is starting to try some of his own projects too.

I love Creation Crate. I love the excitement of when a new box is delivered and I get to see what new item I get to work on.

After determining my son was too busy this summer with lessons and camps, we attempted to cancel our subscription; which we were told we could do at any time. It has taken me over one year to finally cancel!!! I have never witnessed such abhorrent customer service in my life! To make matters worse, we were charged for every single box, even after making several attempts to cancel. I’m sorry to give such a negative review, but hopefully this might lead to some changes. Thank You

While my son was able to assemble the kits we never were able to get them to work with either our laptop or tablet. Part of the problem was you need some sort of software and we never found the right one that was compatible with our devices and the other part of the problem was needing a code to even try and figure out if the software works. If you don't already know and understand the ardwino thing, it is frustrating.
My son is high functioning autism spectrum and it just became to much of a frustration between him and I. Two kits sit on a shelf in a box and the third we never opened.

I couldn't ever get them to work even with support and I purchased about 6 and all still sat in the boxes! Support services were very nice but product I can't comment as wasn't compatible or just didn't work I don't know!

I did catch an error in your code a while back with a project with an LCD. Your code had a 2404 LCD but you sent me a 1602 LCD

Everything else was good. I still reference my project books.
I wish that the components would be different each month. Not just buttons, buzzers and LEDs for the first few months.
I think it would be cool if you looked into using ESP 8266 or Node MCU for some projects.

Very cool projects, easy to understand and fun results.

Love the product, do not love the continuous billing. The reminder of renewal is sent only hours ahead of time and the subscription was renewed before the official renewal date.
