This is not a bad review for Compass they did let us know nothing is guaranteed and they did try their best, but this is a review more about the system. Our mother is bedridden, cannot feed herself , and can get aggresive at times, we all thought it was a slam dunk case us compass and the social worker. On the day of of the final assessment the social worker never even bothered to turn up, we had spent over £10,000 on this only to be turned down for continuing healthcare. So just a heads up think very carefully before spending .The 5 stars are for Compass who did their best.

From my first phone call to Compass CHC I felt reassured that I was in good hands. The man I initially spoke to gently talked me through the process and I felt no pressure , just reassurance that they would represent my friend well at the meetings . I am her LPA . They have the knowledge and the experience to know what CHC requires and won’t take on the case unless they feel confident that she has the healthcare needs required. Also due to my own commitments it took a lot off my shoulders to leave it to the experts.
I did attend the meetings incase there was anything to add although you don’t need to, but the lovely lady who represented my friend had requested all the relevant documents to challenge anything she differed on. She rang before the meeting to prepare me and afterwards to process it so I felt well supported.

I had a CHC Checklist Assessment carried out for my husband earlier this week.
An Advocate from Compass attended on my behalf.
I was so pleased i asked them to represent us as their knowledge and understanding shone through.
This was the second time I had had representation from Compass and the two Advocates differed immensely. The most recent one communicated more deeply.

The total professional approach to our situation together with the understanding, advice, care and attention to detail that was experienced from the outset of our initial enquiry, to the expert presentation
to the enquirt team, and the report submitted on our behalf to achieve a suiccessful conclusion.

CHC application is a challenging and drawn out process. Our legal representative, Maya Bates was very helpful in providing a comprehensive report for the Checklist process and appropriate advocacy during the DST session. There are no guarantees for the fumding but I feel that Maya’s help gives us the best chances.

UPDATE - Unfortunately , Continuing Health Care was turned down by the ICB. With the benefit of hindsight, we know now that our parent’s condition needed to be much worse before funding would have been granted.

Christina has represented us twice now. We have been very impressed with her knowledge, her confident approach and her professionalism.

I predict that paying an advocate to apply for nhs continuing healthcare will be a future scandal along with the previous endowment miss selling and pip claims etc. I would love to know exactly how bad your health has to be to successfully claim for nhs chc. My mother is bed bound with severe Alzheimer’s and terminal breast cancer and yet still got turned down for chc. I took a gamble with £8,000 of my parents money and lost for which I feel guilty and regret getting involved with compass. Compass dont publish their success rate, probably because only 21%of nhs chc applications are successful. Every healthcare professional that I have spoken to have stated that getting accepted for nhs continuing healthcare is almost impossible. I wish I had known this before parting with my parents money. They all share the opinion that compass chc are preying upon the desperate and vulnerable. This review has been flagged by compass as containing harmful or illegal content’ it’s no wonder that there are so few negative reviews as compass will do everything possible to remove them. Dont trust this company when then tell you that you have a very good chance of obtaining funding. The truth is that you only have approximately a 20% chance.

Genuinely impressive advocacy which has allowed us to progress past the checklist stage. Our advocate was completely on top of all the details and we would have struggled without her.

Milla who was my advocate for my father’s funding request was excellent. I cannot praise her professionalism and compassion enough. I would definitely not have been able to do the assessment without her and would highly recommend anybody applying for CHC funding to use the advocate service Compass offer. Compass CHP have done a fantastic job up to this stage with communication and representation for my fathers continuing healthcare affairs, my advocate today was Amin and he was very helpful with the pre meeting call which gave guidance on what to expect once the meeting started . Compass have guided our family over the last 3 1/2 years through, what we found to be, a complicated, long and confusing process when trying to apply for Continuing Health Care for our mother (now deceased).
