The Advocate proved to have a very clear and competent grasp of the detailed intricacies of the case and confidently fielded all questioning presented by the Assessor. The process was quite prolonged but was tirelessly and skilfully handled. Thank you for all the time and effort obviously employed in formulating our case.

Unsuccessful outcome even though we had a very strong case. Different people dealing with the claim. Expensive to use with no good outcome. Contact you when you leave a bad review to try and get you to change it, bribing with vouchers/money off. Please dont reply to this review. Very flawed system and a con! I don't believe most of the 5 star reviews.

The Compass representative fully understood the needs of our Mother, was very professional in her approach, but also ensured that the family were fully informed, supported and aware of the process. She explained in detail and ensured that all parties understood what was being discussed. We feel that their involvement has been really helpful and are hopeful of a positive outcome.

Compass prepared well for the meeting, had a good grasp of the case notes and articulated our case clearly and professionally.

We recently attended an extremely challenging second checklist meeting about our relative’s healthcare.
Without the input, guidance and professionalism of our CHC advocate Amin, it would have been the most distressing meeting we have ever encountered.

Compass have proven to be a good companion on the CHC journey. There can be times, where frustrations in the process can get on top of you, but they remain calm and collected and help you to control your impatience.

I am currently working with Compass CHC to apply for funding for my elderly relative. While the outcome hasn’t been decided yet, I’m very happy with the advocacy service in particular so far and feel it’s an invaluable add on. Having initially felt I could tackle the process on my own, I was proven wrong the moment I received the very detailed documents from Compass. I feel the expertise provided during this process is going to give us the best chance of securing the funding and I have been particularly impressed with the professionalism and understanding of Madison, the advocate assigned to my relative’s case. They collated the correct documentation and preaented it in a strong , positive and clear manner. The last lady that took it to NHS England for us was particularly concise and had exceptional presentation skills.

The advocates input during the DST meeting which was of three hours duration was invaluable. She was persistent and insightful and argued the points effectively. There was also follow up with the ICB following the meeting regarding contentious points. Without this support I doubt the outcome would have been positive.

This review is based on representation from Ana at the LRM assessment meeting. We have been represented by 3 advocates over the process so far and were particularly impressed by Ana. I hope her management takes this on board.

Ellie was professional throughout the consultation and defended my families needs above all else, Ellie’s closing of the meeting even brought a compliment from the NHS reviewer on her depth of knowledge.

I have had a very positive experience - we are yet to hear the result as to funding but if we are unsuccessful it will not be anything to do with the effort and professionalism of Compass CHC. CW was my representative and he knew the case inside out. Any questions he asked me were based on a thorough understanding of the problems we were encountering and he completely understood the situation. I would have no issue with recommending Compass CHC to help others based on a situation where there is the potential for a funding application to be successful

Initial cost is £8000 aprox, which is expensive but, if it achieves "continuing funding" it appears to be worth the risk. However, beware, in the first place CHC funding is VERY difficult to obtain. At this stage the extra costs from Compass will "kick in". The price goes up and up when you discuss "next steps" , CHC almost 100% refuse any requests for continuing funding, it's a massively flawed system. Compass then start to quote different figures to go through the next stages of the process and the first thing I noticed was the figures change, there is no consitency. I've had (approx) figures quoted, £3200, £4000 and now over £7000. To date, this has been going on since around Christmas of last year, nothing at all has been achieved by Compass, they are now asking for over £7000 to continue the process. Do not get drawn in by their first figure, that is NOT what you will pay, it will be probably double that and then it becomes a major risk. I am requesting an investigation through my MP and the Office of Public Guardian, £8000 is a lot of money for a disabled, 100 year old pensioner (my mother) to pay out for nothing in return.

UPDATE:
Due to serious health problems I have only just been able to review Compass' answer. I haven't changed my view, this is a Company to avoid. We were drawn in by the first "offer". This was expesive enough, the OPG told me to be wary. Then came all the additional costs if you actually want their support, that started to build up to over £15000!! £8000 paid, zero achievement, beware of this Company. I am now discussing the situation with my MP, how many nore people have lost their money to these people?

UPDATE: 2/9/2026
I have not had any "offer" from Compass to provide me with "something" that was worth the inital £8000 fee. The OPG were wary of them, for good reason. This is not "good value for money".

With reference to the advocate representing me Miss Ellie Murphy, I can’t thank her enough for her professional and knowledgeable support to my case. She did her utmost to help and in my opinion couldn’t have done more.

No matter how you proceed through the NHS CHC process you will find it both daunting and stressful. If you are also 'caring' full time you might also be mentally & physically tired and not is a mind state to deal with the process without significant support. If you are sure as you can be that your LO should qualify for funding then what Compass will do for you is to put together the best possible case for you and if required will act as an advocate at either (or both) the checklist meeting & the review. There are significant costs associated with the support but I felt assured that everything was covered and that my Compass Advocate ensured that nothing would be miss-said or not said when it should be during the checklist and review.
I have just received notice that my application on behalf of my LO was successful. Would it have been successful had I not used Compass - possibly it would have been; but if I had to go through the process again I would definitely employ Compass. I do think their contributions made a big difference and I see the cost of the service as a good investment and would feel the investment still worthwhile even if funding was not granted.

Data provided in support of my appeal was very clear and extensive.

The advocate (Ana) who presented my case at the appeal was very knowledgable and gave excellent answers to questions asked of her as well as presenting the case in great detail.

I was very pleased and now await the outcome.
