What on earth has happened to this once great bank? Service seems to have hit an all-time low. They even reply from 'no-reply' email addresses to cause greater frustration.
Just as well they have plenty of excellent competitors happy to take my business...

Safe guarding your account
I received a call from the bank questioning a purchase I had made
The service was none invasive and professional, checking that I had sanctioned the payment and was happy for it to proceed .
I assured the person that I was very happy to receive any advice and checks that reduced the instances of fraud
So yes I would recommend the coop bank for the safe guards that will help keep your payments safe

There were no long queues
There were no long queues, customer relations was top form. Cashiers were helpful, polite and friendly - service with a smile which is always a good sign. Well done Team!

Smartphone required for joint accounts
I tried to open a joint account, but it insisted on verification of the "second" person via smartphone. As I am one of many people without one, it was impossible. This is an arrogant assumption and discrimination against those without such a device.

Too far too long to complete fraud checks
Took far to long to have a suspect payment cleared.
3 calls needed. 2nd call handler had a poor, unempathetic, aggressive and accusatory manner.

It's easy to set up and then to transfer money.
I have also used the card for purchases in Europe ,where it's readily acceptable..

Better banks out there
I have been with this bank 34yrs and to be honest its a relic compared to other banks I get no alerts on my phone of money going in or out. The savings rates are not great, the worst part is the mobile banking its always down, I dont know any other banks with this much disruption to their service! Very frustrating when I need to sort out transactions.

Banking app once again down. Have no access to my savings or accounts that i pay a service to use. No bank i know is this bad. Why im still banking with them i dont know but it wont be long since i go elsewhere

Poor customer service
Poor customer service - long wait on telephone to speak to a customer service representative. Disappointed with the service when did get through to speak with someone - felt staff not empathetic or willing to listen to complaints - little effort from COOP Bank customer service to resolve- called me twice within minutes as I couldn't answer at the time they didn't try again to help ir resolve in person then receive a letter stating their customer service representative was not rude initial complaint ‐ VERY DISAPPOINTING from a caring community declared financial service

The purpose of my visit to the bank was to transfer a large sum of money…
The purpose of my visit to the bank was to transfer a large sum of money. I am unable to do this from my computer at home because the Co-op bank usually try to phone me to ensure that the transaction is genuine. I am deaf and unable to use a phone. The cashier put a note on my account for the bank to send me a text instead of a phone call.
