Telephone waiting times are too long
This is the 3rd time today I have had to call the cooperative bank, first to arrange a transfer between my two accounts,I was told it would take an hour after nearly two I called back. First call took over 20 minutes, second over 25 only for the phone to be hung up once the operative answered, now trying for a third time. Honestly I have been with this bank for nearly 50 years but its customer service is now so bad I am considering transferring to another bank.
I have finally got through to a representative Nina who was really helpful so third time lucky. They really do however need to be able to answer calls quicker than 20 minutes. I have adjusted my response from 1 to 3 stars because of Nina’s assistance.

I now have a headache.I have been trying to reset my online log in details all morning and it's not going well. Cooperative are so suspicious of any single thing you do that , it's now locked me out. Every time it asked me to reset my password, it kept going wrong.And when you try to phone them, there is always a twenty-minute why??? I know i'm going to get a lecture about fraudulent activity , but I really do think that your reset of details needs looking at

Since complaint about service, wait times and payment stops with zero communication I have three times in a month had the app crash and no response to my complaint other than a holding letter while they ‘investigate’ further. I can only think that the folks praising this bank are visiting branches and not trying to use online services or calling customer services. Perhaps the average co-op client doesn’t mind 15 minute waits for the phone to be answered and the app failing time and again but i do. I actually pay for the account too! Moving back to my previous bank forthwith after this dismal experience.

Truly awful experience
Truly awful experience. The incompetence has had them compensating me financially for their errors at least 4 times in the years I have used them. The final straw is that since their tech upgrade the website is glacially slow. Every click takes about 30 seconds to register. If you click again it decides you have double clicked which isn't allowed and logs you out. This is on a fast fibre connection and no other website behaves like this. It is painfully pathetic. It's by an order of magnitude the worst banking experience I have ever had.

What on earth has happened to this once great bank? Service seems to have hit an all-time low. They even reply from 'no-reply' email addresses to cause greater frustration.
Just as well they have plenty of excellent competitors happy to take my business...

Safe guarding your account
I received a call from the bank questioning a purchase I had made
The service was none invasive and professional, checking that I had sanctioned the payment and was happy for it to proceed .
I assured the person that I was very happy to receive any advice and checks that reduced the instances of fraud
So yes I would recommend the coop bank for the safe guards that will help keep your payments safe

There were no long queues, customer relations was top form. Cashiers were helpful, polite and friendly - service with a smile which is always a good sign. Well done Team!
