All was good until…
All was good until we wanted to open a new joint account. Went through the hour long call, all fine but one of us needed to go through ID verification. Links in email for this did not work but as the email they were sent in was a ‘no reply’ email we couldn’t do anything about it. They sent a number of follow up emails with non working links. We called, waited ages in a queue, made an appointment for a video call (2 weeks wait- but ok) appointment arrived but no call. No reason given, no apology… opened an account with another bank.

I am a pensioner who received 5 letters…
I am a pensioner who received 5 letters with poorly perforated cheques at the bottom, unable to use scissors due to arithus; she spent minutes detaching them. I am a Smile account but she was excellent and courteous and deserves longer than half hour lunches.

Excellent security advice.
We had received a suspicious phone call with someone purporting to be calling from the Co-operative Bank security branch. We ended the call and contacted the Co-operative Bank security directly. The call was answered very quickly and the operative listened to what we said and gave us good advice.

Depositing a cheque
Nice to have a branch not far from us the branch was very open and clean the only trouble was only having one person on the till had a little queue had a problem with the person at the till.

20 years with coop bank and now screwed because of changing packaged accounts. 7 days waiting with no insurances and still no answer. Phoned 7 times 180 minutes but still waiting for Team to make decision. Well done coop bank

Telephone waiting times are too long
This is the 3rd time today I have had to call the cooperative bank, first to arrange a transfer between my two accounts,I was told it would take an hour after nearly two I called back. First call took over 20 minutes, second over 25 only for the phone to be hung up once the operative answered, now trying for a third time. Honestly I have been with this bank for nearly 50 years but its customer service is now so bad I am considering transferring to another bank.
I have finally got through to a representative Nina who was really helpful so third time lucky. They really do however need to be able to answer calls quicker than 20 minutes. I have adjusted my response from 1 to 3 stars because of Nina’s assistance.
