Great customer service and support. Really convenient location just a few steps from the train station.

Location by York station was very convenient. Car could have been a bit cleaner around the sills but they were obviously busy and I was grateful to get the car and be on my way. No problem with the rental. Would use again.

I went to collect my hire vehicle on the wrong day but after a short phone call, Autohorn were able to accommodate me anyway! When I arrived at their Wiggington office, after a short wait, I met the representative, Andrew, who was very efficient & friendly. After completing the paperwork he showed me to the vehicle, running through things I needed to know and answering my questions ! It was a stress free, pleasant experience and I would recommend Autohorn! Thank you.

Booked a 7seater for our family hoilday 3days before pick up a email. Late in the afternoon business hour's received a email saying we can't honour the 7seater

I feel so let down by this company it's messed up our plans now. I'm glad I readed the reviews on the 5th of June one it says alot of bad things about this company good luck with them

Georgina was a total gem, polite, understanding, a joy to deal with. Provided answers to my emails, met us on Bank Holiday to collect and upgraded to an amazing Peugeot. Office is right next door to Leeds train station.

PROs:
-flexible. you can easily set the days for rental - but they charge you for the full month initially and promised a 'refund' for the unused days
-good variety of vehicles to choose from
-the staff I initially spoke to was nice: 1. Tom. he seemed very accommodating, helped me through the process, quick to respond, and even pushed for the vehicle delivery date to be earlier because we needed it.
2. Ken. he delivered the vehicle. he was nice and even told me to contact him if i have any questions about the vehicle. I even drove him to the train station.

CONs:
1. very expensive. the list price of the car i chose is £455. but my initial payment ended up being £906£.
thats double.
-there is a "set up fee" which i don't understand what it is for.
-delivery charge of £60
-insurance of £180
then at the end there is a "collection charge" of £183. why is that 3 times the price of delivery?
2. they delivered the car with soiled rear seats. the whole rear row was stained. with debris in the crevices and the seatbelt and seatbelt holders. this was acknowledged by the the delivery driver.
3. they charge you for existing damage to the car.
at the end of the lease - they billed me for damages to the alloys and the soiled seats.
its a good thing i took pictures of the damages to the car so i contested the claims.
i even emailed in the beginning to express my disappointment about the soiled seats, and they replied to it - that to get it cleaned myself and they will supposedly refund the cost. i did get it cleaned but the stains were too much to get off by the detailer.
4. the air conditioning does not get cold. this summer gets pretty hot - but the AC does not work. this means the vehicle was not fully checked. i reported this and they told me they are accredited with kwik fit - but that means that is time i am without a car, getting the rental car fixed when i rented the car because i need a vehicle.
5. they do not accept credit cards. they ask for a direct deposit and bank transfer. which is very inconvenient and prone to scams and unsafe for your bank account.

I was rushing to rent a car and did not have time to look around.
I wish I had read the reviews online as I now see a lot of negative reviews with similar experiences as mine.

Really helpful team and quick turnaround from enquiry to getting my rental. Would recommend this company and will be using again!

Wrote a 1* review a while back due to charging me for existing damage. Proved them wrong in small claims Court today and won my case getting ALL of my deposit back. This also cost them an extra £300.00 in fees & damages. TBH this should never have got to Court as it was a pretty blatant scam that they were made aware of with photo evidence. If it happens to you, stand your ground and do NOT let them get away with it.

I wish I had checked out the reviews BEFORE I rented from Autohorn. I was a longtime renter from these guys, not the cheapest (in fact one of the costliest) but offered great flexibility which is what I was looking for. Similarly to other reviews, everything ran smooth until they contacted me to exchange the car for which I had to pay over 200 pounds despite me being perfectly happy with the car I had (I had already paid over 200 to have oit delivered a few months prior). And then the difficulties started and all kinds of trumped-up charges for "damages" were presented despite these "damages" being normal wear and tear. They also charged me for the car being dirty inside which was nothing a hoover could not remove in 10 minutes. And beware: insurance excess is "per damage" so if they find 10 minor scratches say and each falls below the excess, the insurance is pointless and you have to pay x 10 despise the total being much more than the excess. Stay away, you would save yourself form a lot of headache by avoiding this company.

Friendly informative and good value. Car clean and good condition just what I needed. Ideally situated next to railway station so perfect for connections. I was told to bring car back with same petrol but I filled it up to say thank you. I will use them again.

I hired a small car on a short term rental, when it was time to return the vehicle I arranged a date for collection but had to change it the morning of collection due to work travel commitments. I spoke to the the driver collecting the car and he said it was fine and emailed customer services to confirm.

Later that day I received very abrupt emails and phone calls from the company demanding the car is returned, they then said it would be passed to a collection agency. I had advised there was no issue collecting the vehicle In a few days once I was back from my work trip. The following day I returned to find recovery agents driving round my estate looking for me who then followed me in their car flashing their lights at me, once I had parked on the drive they then parked behind me blocking me in and were extremely rude. Had I not been so shocked I would have probably called the police.

Do not use this company!

Van returned Sunday 10.3.24. Instructed this was possible. Checks carried out when I was not present. 19 findings from this cowboy firm. Notified 18.3.24. Expected payment £535. 00. Full access cover also taken out. Be warned. Card frozen. Dispute will take place.

Had a Volvo for 3 months. 1 day broke down (told by auto horn not there problem and contact Volvo) since found out by Jacob (rep) auto horn that this isn’t an isolated issue and they have had numerous Volvos with same problem.
Complained to Simon (Manager) who states this wasn’t said. Cover up!!!
Now received a bill for £300 for so called excess mileage even though the rep said everything was ok.
I have spoke. To my solicitor today re this and will be taking the matter further.
These company is very unprofessional, doesn’t know how to deal with customer service correctly, misleads customers and then stings you with bills.
There are so many more companies out there that have a better overall better customer experience than Auto barn.
I am now awaiting a call from the main guy!

Unfortunately for Auto barn they have picked on the wrong customer. Watch this space.

Avoid at all costs, total con merchants, fees hidden everywhere.

Would give 0 stars if possible. Charged (from deposit) for pre-existing damage as shown on delivery report. Delivered dirty on the inside. Case ongoing.

really nice company to deal with, all the staff where friendly from start to finish, the drivers who delivered the car where smart and professional.
would defiantly recommend.
