A terrible company, unethical, uncaring, garbage. Stay clear. They are always changing their requirements and have the WORST customer service. If there is a worse company, I have not seen it. We have wasted so much time with these clowns (payasos). We HATE them unreservedly.

Use another health care service.
I have been with Asssa for 9 years or more and have on a few occasions over the years wondered what I was paying for! Every time I have used their services and it hasn’t been much, I am met with a long wait before I received things as simple as physio. Some doctors that are under Asssa are not authorised to suggest treatments until you get a referral from a trauma department. Then you have to wait for Asssa to authorise the treatment. If I had something more serious wrong with me, I’d probably be dead. Example, pain in neck and shoulder. It’s now a month since I had the first doctors appointment which took 3 weeks to get and I am still waiting for authority from Asssa to get treatment. I also do not understand why I should continue to pay for a service that I am not receiving! It’s a yearly contract in Spain with any health insurance. I would of been better off saving the thousands given to Asssa over the years and when needed, pay for my own private treatments with a doctor I trust. When you produce your Asssa card at the doctors receptionist, you can almost feel that they don’t want to deal with patience’s from Asssa. It was the receptionist that cancelled my physio in the first place because the doctor did not have authority! Before signing your health away to any health insurance because they offer a great price, do your homework.

Run away and do it quick!
Horrible customer care, confusing and time-consuming process and the selection of service providers is shocking (the will send you to the shadies clinics that are not even appropriately equipped).
They will tell you that the service is covered and then inform you that you will be charged for it after you've completed it.
Any condition that your doctor identify, they will claim is pre-existing and it's not covered by the policy.
Save yourself the trouble and look for a proper insurance company.

I had a truly pleasant consultancy experience with ASSSA. Ms. Rosa Ruiz was exceptional throughout the entire process.
I was exploring suitable insurance options to support my job-seeking visa application in Spain after completing my studies. Ms. Rosa Ruiz responded to all my detailed questions with clarity, patience, and professionalism. Her responses were timely and very informative.
Moreover, due to some personal circumstances, I was unable to respond to her promptly regarding my decision. Despite this, Ms. Rosa Ruiz kindly followed up to check on my situation, showing genuine care for the customer and great dedication to her work.
Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, I had to return to my home country and leave Spain, even though my intention was to stay and continue the process. Otherwise, I would have certainly proceeded with ASSSA insurance, thanks to the outstanding support and attention Ms. Rosa Ruiz provided.
ASSSA Vera office
At renewal my policy was upgraded from Standard to Master plan at no additional cost in order to satisfy the Spanish government private medical cover requirement for renewal of none lucrative visa's. We also now benefit from the well man and well woman annual checks.
Recently needed to make use of the policy due to having a heart attack. Karen at the Vera office has been fantastic in helping us manage through this difficult time.

Shady organization
If you are american do not use Asssa!! After my 1st year I wanted to cancel. Now they are trying to sue me saying im not allowed to cancel. Craziest thing ever! This company is a fraud and scam..
Update: Please everyone pay attention to the scam like behavior!! When 1 person gives a truthful negative review, the very next day they have bot profiles give false testimony, these long positive reviews that are clearly employees trying to falsely defend the company to continue to scam others!!

Die Deckung muss erst abschließend geprüft werden, bevor ein Termin gemacht werden kann.
Sobald die Deckung geprüft wurde, senden wir Ihnen Ihre Genehmigung (wenn der Eingriff gedeckt ist), damit Sie einen Termin vereinbaren können.
Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
ich wende mich mit dieser formellen Beschwerde an Sie, da ich die Entscheidung Ihrer Sachbearbeiterin, die dringend notwendige Operation an meinem linken Auge nicht zu genehmigen, in keiner Weise nachvollziehen kann.
Am 12. Juni 2025 wurde mein rechtes Auge aufgrund eines Cataracts erfolgreich operiert. Seither besteht zwischen dem operierten rechten und dem nicht behandelten linken Auge eine erhebliche Differenz – konkret liegt beim linken Auge eine Fehlsichtigkeit von +6 Dioptrien vor.
Diese Differenz ist nicht durch eine Brille auszugleichen, was mir durch meinen Optiker auch schriftlich bestätigt wurde. Eine Brille mit diesen Werten wäre in ihrer Ausführung physisch untragbar und würde weitere Beschwerden verursachen. Infolge dieser unausgeglichenen Sehstärken leide ich unter dauerhaften Kopfschmerzen und visuellen Beeinträchtigungen, die meine Lebensqualität und Alltagstauglichkeit massiv einschränken.
Die empfohlene Operation des linken Auges stellt keine optionale Maßnahme, sondern eine medizinisch notwendige Angleichung dar – im direkten Zusammenhang mit der bereits durchgeführten Operation des rechten Auges. Es ist für mich absolut unverständlich, wie eine Krankenversicherung diese Maßnahme unter Verweis auf eine vermeintlich fehlende Deckung ablehnen kann, obwohl eine klare medizinische Notwendigkeit besteht.
Darüber hinaus stellt sich die Frage nach Ihrer Verantwortung, sollte es aufgrund meiner eingeschränkten Sehfähigkeit – etwa im Straßenverkehr – zu einem Unfall kommen. Diese Situation ist weder mir zumutbar, noch mit dem Auftrag einer Krankenversicherung vereinbar, die Gesundheit ihrer Versicherten zu erhalten und zu schützen.
Ich fordere Sie daher auf, den Fall umgehend erneut zu prüfen und mir eine schriftliche und nachvollziehbare Begründung für die bisherige Ablehnung zuzusenden. Darüber hinaus bitte ich um klare Angaben dazu, welche Unterlagen oder weiteren Schritte ggf. noch erforderlich sind, um die medizinisch notwendige Operation doch genehmigt zu bekommen.
Sollte ich innerhalb von 2 Tagen keine zufriedenstellende Rückmeldung erhalten, sehe ich mich gezwungen, mich an die zuständige Aufsichtsbehörde sowie an einen Rechtsbeistand zu wenden.
Ich habe keine Worte für diese Vorgehensweise.
Es handelt sich hierbei um eine Versicherung aber Anstatt pro Kunde zu sein zählt nur das Geld...

Cambio excepcional y necesario. Hemos pasado del antiguo y obsoleto cheque en papel que entregábamos en consulta, a como la inmensa mayoría de compañías, nuestra tarjeta. Además de un cuadro médico más amplio y la cobertura en muchas más ciudades de España en la que puedes hacer uso.
Deseo resaltar la profesionalidad de los trabajadores de la oficina de Córdoba. Son muy resolutivos y siempre te reciben con muy buen trato y una sonrisa, que siempre es de agradecer.

In good hands
When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer towards the end of 2024 we were devastated and all the worst case scenario's fly through your head. It was a very stressful time to say the least. However, we needn't have worried because we had a wonderful woman on our side in the shape of Sabine Monika Segelcke based in the Quesada office. She held our hand throughout diagnosis and treatment, she is kind, helpful and dedicated to getting a positive outcome. I finish my eight week radiotherapy treatment on the twelfth of June and hopefully all will be well. I would also like to mention the doctors and staff at Quiron salud, very happy with the way I've been treated.
I am seriously thinking of leaving…
I am seriously thinking of leaving ASSSA. On starting the policy, I was informed that the premium charges would not increase. Unfortunately, this is not true and have increased in six years from 85€ to 115€ per month today. I am also finding that they also have lots and lots of clauses listed under “general conditions” which mean that they do not cover many issues. I fail to understand why I will have to pay hundreds of euros on tests that will hopefully diagnose my issues. Surely, these tests will diagnose future problems and save expensive treatment in the future...this is ASSSA madness.
When I have had treatment, I have found that I have to purchase the associated expensive medication, these are not covered by ASSSA.
The private hospitals also leave a lot to be desired. No better than the poor ones in the UKs NHS.
Recently I had a designated timed appointment.. I faced over two hours waiting times.
On one occasion, I required emergency treatment. The emergency line was not answered.. so much for emergency cover and a private ambulance.!
One positive. The staff in my local ASSSA office are excellent.

When one is not feeling well the girls there always have a smile on their faces and couldn't be more welcoming and helpful.
They really are a great team.
