I accidentally placed two orders for the same pen and contacted the store to cancel one of them. Despite it being the weekend, they responded promptly and immediately canceled the duplicate order.

The remaining order was shipped on Monday, and to my surprise, the pen was in my hands by Wednesday! Throughout the entire process, they kept me informed with timely updates, making the experience completely seamless and stress-free.

As a fountain pen enthusiast, I have purchased pens from stores all over the world, but I can confidently say that this has been the best customer service experience I’ve ever had.

Their responsiveness, efficiency, professionalism, and genuine commitment to customer satisfaction are simply outstanding.

A truly first-class experience from start to finish. Highly recommended, and I will certainly be a returning customer!

I bought a limited-edition Leonardo pen just a few days ago. A week later, I was able to hold it in my hands, having traveled across a good part of the globe. I am very pleased with Appelboom's excellent service and the friendliness of their team.

Parker Broad refills paid ,never received .
Numerous inquiries sent ,no response .
Payback never received in my credit card account.
Then got the idea via eventual email correspondence,I was made fun off,disappointing

I have been collecting fountain pens for years. I only recently found Appelboom and just bought a Pilot Custom Urushi from them. Couldn’t be happier. Great pen, perfectly tuned, and an excellent price. Shipped promptly. I’ll be back. Should have mentioned: I live in the U.S.

Like others in the bad reviews I've had a very mixed experience with appelboom.

Ordered my pen in June.
Nothing, no notification, no anything.
So I sent a mail after a month, very quick response from Joost telling me that the pen was somehow on its way. Two months after that I sent another email : the nib of the pen was discontinued and Tom Studio didn't alert their distributors.

I guess it happens but a bit of follow-up and initiative for my order would have been nice.

So then, I was offered advice to find a replacement nib for that pen. I was terrible advice. I admit I'm sort of a newbie but nevermind that, it was terrible advice and very disappointing for a pen shop owner.

The nib I was given (three months after the initial order) wasn't at all what I expected.
I replaced it within the week with a nib from penworld.be, the pen works wonders now.

I'm still giving 2 stars because Joost was very quick to reply and was polite. I'm pretty sure customers can have a great experience sometimes.

But this whole thing must have been one of my worst online purchase, ever.
This whole thing made me trust Belgian shops : penworld and nias are now my way to go.

Very timely and great customer care. I ordered two pens, one fountain and one rollerball. They responded right away telling me of a potential delay due to inventory. The owners are so kind.

I purchased a relatively newly released Italian fountain pen via their website. The pen was/is not available in the US and I needed the pen by a certain date prior to some planned travel. I also asked Appelboom to service the pen making sure the nib was appropriately ground to a smooth finish. With tight timelines and still just relying on their regular shipping, all was completed on time. The pen writes buttery smooth. I also greatly appreciated their re-assuring communications regarding my shipping/timelines concerns. I am a first-time Appelboom customer and to be clear, It is not as if I was purchasing an extravagantly expensive pen from them. They just provided great customer service.

Timely responses to my many questions and dithering about choices. My pen (Diplomat Excellence A2 in Oxyd Iron with a fine nib) arrived in perfect shape, very pleased with the product and service.

I ordered a fountain pen on Thursday morning, and it was delivered to me on Saturday afternoon, Netherlands to the UK. It was securely packed, and beautifully presented, providing a lovely unboxing experience. I recommend these people unreservedly.

Bought two flagship Pelikan Pens (M1000 and M800) - with special requests and nibs. Not only was the price EXCELLENT - the service to Los Angeles was PERFECT. One of the best I have ever had! (and I have a LOT of fountain pens) - I am so thrilled to be connected to Appelboom and Joost. Fantastic Service!

I found the pen on the Appelboom's website and wanted to confirm the price was indeed what I saw. Much to my surprise, I have got the confirmation from Joost directly. I placed the order, and a couple weeks later, DHL delivered the pen. Everything was done exactly as promised, and I even got mini-stroopwafels! This was a great experience.

Recently I purchased a Cleo Skribent Amboyna Burl fountain pen from Appelboom. This pen is not easy to find, but I did find one in stock at Appelboom so went for it. Being in the United States, I do not do much buying outside of the country, but I made an exception this time. The ordering and delivery were among the best I have ever had, and I will certainly not hesitate using them again. I was tempted to use their nib-tune service but decided that a Cleo /skribent nib would most likely not need it, and it did not. Cleo Skribent seems a quiet company in the US, but they make excellent pens, so I am not sure why they are not seen more.

I recently bought two fountain pens (Pelikan M800 and Pilot 823) from Appelboom. I requested the Tune & Smooth service and I am very happy with the nib of my M800. It is truly magnificent. The Pilot 823 F is also very good.
In the same time, I am grateful to Appelboom for the fast shipping, good communication and excellent products. I will certainly come back and buy other products again soon.

I ordered from Appelboom two times, both times items the website said were in stock turned out not to be. One order was slow but arrived within a month. The other I cancelled after five months of waiting and receiving no updates, even after explicitly asking about the expected delivery time they would only say 'still waiting'. They do not appear to know if or when items are or will be in stock. They were quick to give a refund, but I would not order from them again as there's no way to know or find out when your order will ship.

Another great pen from Appelboom. I’d been searching for a specific pen that had gone out of stock everywhere but Appelboom were able to source one and ship it the same day. It arrived in the UK the very next day, gift wrapped and with a couple of stroop wafels! The pen is astonishingly beautiful and a wonderful writer right out of the box. Fantastic customer service yet again. A very happy customer here. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
