I booked an excursion in Cabo San Lucas last year in May. They never showed and till this day I have Not received my refund. They will not response to my emails. DONT BOOK WITH THEM!!!!!!

SUCKED, big time!
It sucked. Took Chukka catamaran in Jamaica. It cruised out 10 minutes from shore, allied 30 minutes to snorkel. Then cruised 5 minutes and just floated. It was a boozed “Float,” not a cruise. Could see our dock whole time. Crew promoted twerking by 90% passengers. It was disgusting. I would’ve like to actually cruise the coastline to see some of the island. Worst crap ever! Just complete garbage.

I wish they had a 0 option
I wish they had a 0 option. We come to the Dominican often. This time we used Amstar and we got through customs and were escorted to the amstar van where we waited 40 minutes after traveling all day. The reason we were given was they were waiting on some other people from our flight. That wait should have been no longer than 10 minutes. But I guess while we were waited shut up in a van for over half an hour these people were getting a bite to eat. After 10 minutes Amstsr should have taken us to our resort and taken the other people when they were finally ready. We paid for our transfer. Also after us waiting we were dropped off last. There was no group rate. We will never use Amstar again anywhere!

DO NOT BOOK WITH AMSTAR DMC!
DO NOT BOOK WITH AMSTAR DMC!! Would give them ZERO STARS if i could! Traveled to Dominican Republic for our honeymoon last week. Paid for an excursion. The day of the scheduled outing, I woke up with a fever and told them i would not be able to attend. I requested a refund and it was refused at the resort stating that i needed medical documentation. When i asked where to go to obtain that, i was told it was pointless because it would cost more than the excursion. The representative at the resort asked me, 'why i didn't just go to the excursion even with a fever.' YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! The next day i flew back to the US, and took a COVID test, which was positive. I provided proof to Amstar that i was positive for COVID, one day later, and they still refuse to refund me the money for the excursion. WILL NEVER EVER book anything through them again!

I had to wait an hour upon arrival it…
I had to wait an hour upon arrival it was no problem, upon returning they claimed they went to the bell boy and asked for us and didn’t find us !! We had to pay a taxi to take us back to the airport! TERRIBLE service!!! Not even a phone call to say they were there !!!!! No Customer service could be reached and when they were finally contacted did not care about the complaint !!

Stay away, you’re better off taking a cab!
READ IF YOU ARE TRAVELING ABROAD AND USING THIS COMPANY FOR AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION!
If I could give this company a negative number of starts, I certainly would. I booked roundtrip airport to resort transportation in Punta Cana from 8/4 until 8/12 with Amstar DMC for 11 adults and 2 children under 2 years of age. On 8/11, a day before our departure from Punta Cana, I met with the Amstar DMC representative at the hotel lobby to coordinate the details of our return. The Amstar DMC representative contacted his customer service team to update the departure time on our reservation and a confirmation email was immediately sent to me showing the pick up time and location. On 8/12, our pick up at the resort was scheduled for 2:00 AM at the hotel lobby and we were all ready to go by 1:45 AM. The only problem was— NO ONE FROM AMSTAR DMC SHOWED UP TO PICK US UP! I waited 45 minutes at the resort lobby, at 2:00 AM, with 2 children under 2 years of age and 11 other family members and friends, to catch our 5:00 AM flight and our Amstar DMC driver never showed up! Upon calling customer service several times from my cellphone and the hotel lobby phone, I finally reached the representative I met with the previous day. After I explained to him that our driver didn’t know up, he proceeded to tell me that I had woken him up and that he wasn’t feeling well. He said he would reach out to his supervisor and get back to me but recommended that all 13 of us take a cab to the airport so that we wouldn’t miss our flight. After calling him several times without a solution for the problem, we finally took a cab to the airport and made it just in time to catch our flight. Upon my return home, I called the Amstar customer service line to request refund and reimbursement for the taxi services. I was told that I would receive a full refund and reimbursement within 7 business days. Later on, I received an email from
an Amstar DMC customer service supervisor stating that a full refund and reimbursement for the taxi services would not be possible, only the return transportation charges would be refunded.
Therefore, if you want a reliable company to provide airport to resort roundtrip transportation while on vacation in a foreign country, I urge you to please consider a different company as Amstar DMC has proven to be unreliable and unprofessional in various ways. Beware!!”

Camilla at Ocean Coral Spring Hotel is the BEST!!!!!
My friend and I planned a trip to Jamaica. the day we were supposed to leave American Airlines cancelled our flight. Camilla at Amstar in the Ocean Coral Spring Hotel was SO very helpful. When our hotel was full that night, and we needed a room til our flight the next day Camilla stepped up to help us. The hotel did not offer to do anything for us or help to find another place. Camilla got online looking and making calls. She found one that was connected to our property so we didn't have far to go. I feel our hotel could have done that but they offered no help. Camilla went way out of her way to help us and totally saved us. She made sure Amstar was taking us to the airport and even emailed the next day to be sure we were getting there in time. She is a GREAT employee and hope Amstar knows what great customer service she gave us when it wasn't even her responsibility. Thank you Camilla!!!! We are so grateful!!!

Horrible service back to the airport
Horrible service back to the airport , driver was a no show, after admitted to be at the wrong hotel , to hold for him for 5 mins turned out to be a NO SHOW,
Had to ask for taxi to get me to the airport as I was running late to the airport, never received the service as private yet was charged full price for this poor service.
If you have another choice please do so , AMSTAR is not reliable.

Horrible experience with these people
Horrible experience with these people. I had booked trips with some people at our resort and we were completely blindsided the whole time. My first trip booked with them was horrible. The transportation fee was $30 and should’ve been included for this trip. When we got there we were charged by the taxi driver $20 because he was never paid. We had no organization of transportation back as we thought we would have.
We had to walk back all the way home as we didn't have extra cash besides the $20 and tip for the travel guide. Additionally, we were given the wrong time for the excursion and we were about to not be taken in. We were also told this activity would be three hours long however it was only one hour long. I was completely shocked by the whole experience and tried to cancel my other trips and they gave me the hardest time about it. I thought I could rely on them but they’ve truly only ruined my trip. They lied and scammed to our faces countless times I would not trust them.

I will give them less than one. But that's not an option period we were at the hotel at 9 o'clock as required. And although they say someone showed up, nobody did period they refused to give us a reimbursement. And so we ended up paying extra money to make it to the airport. If you're gonna use this company. Just be aware they are scam artists.

They're SCAMMERS! BE AWARE AND DO NOT LET THEM STEAL YOUR MONEY!
My husband and I made a round-trip private van transfer reservation (between hotel and airport) with Amstar Transfer before we came to Cancun for our vacation. When we arrived at the airport, they made us wait for more than 30 minutes despite our scheduled pick-up time and the private van was just a random taxi. Even worse, for the second transfer (from hotel back to airport), they COMPLETELY MESSED UP THE PICK-UP TIME and came early in the morning even though our requested pick-up time was supposed to be in the evening. They refused to pick us at the time we've already requested when we made the reservation; then they LIED to us by saying it will take 2 hours due to roadwork to get to the airport and the only way they can accommodate us would be through a bus even though we paid for private transfer at a later time. They CHARGED US FOR SERVICE THEY DID NOT PROVIDE. Ultimately, we had to call a taxi and it was way more convenient and took less than 30 minutes to get to the airport, not 2 hours and regular taxi was available whenever we needed, NOT LIKE AMSTAR. Avoid Amstar! They're unprofessional and don't care about passengers. There are much better options out there.

Do not use Amstar for anything. Absolute scammers. We paid in advance for our transfer from/ to the airport. Our representative Natanael Fernandez( Amstar) did not show up and never scheduled transfer back to the airport from the hotel. We are paid additional for taxi to give us a ride. Previous day he confirmed 1 pm pick up, but no show. Absolutely unprofessional and bad experience. Be aware. Thank you

Worst customer service . They will take your money and won’t even flinch. They will tell you that I’m going to Indy when you take it to the hotel hotel people will walk away say it’s not us and we cannot do anything so nobody’s here we accountable for the money you spent with them.

Not to be trusted
We stayed at the Riu palace peninsula, we booked three excursions with your service representative Axle the first Excursion we went to Tulum, or so we thought. we raced through every step barely spending a half an hour at each place. we spent all day driving. we spent more time in the van than we did at any excursions. they switch vans on us three times during the Excursion as well cramming all of us in a much smaller van. we brought our concerns back to Axel and told him that we did not want to spend all day driving he suggested other excursions to which we agreed. we chose the dolphin excursion, their driver was a half an hour late which resulted in not only getting complaints from the employees at the aquarium. " telling us you should have been across the Bridge 15 minutes ago"- to which they were incredibly aggravated that they had to go through all the directions once again. we also missed half of the Excursion not being able to go through the aquarium or see any of the activities on the site. we again brought these concerns to axel and all he had was an apology. our next Excursion was an ATV, we were told to drive would only be 40 minutes considering once again we told Axel we did not want to be driving all day. an hour and a half later with no traffic whatsoever, we know what traffic is we're from Chicago, we finally arrived. the excursions themselves were great, but the information that is given by your representatives caused a complete disarray in our schedule for the day we rely on you being in your country to give us proper information so that we can plan our trips properly. that information was not given and when concerns were brought up it was pretty much meant by well I'm sorry. we have spent almost 1500 with you on three excursions and this is the service that we get. we constantly use your company every time that we travel because we trust you, that is to say we used to. this is absolutely absurd that we are treated this way. just because we are on vacation doesn't by any means mean that we are rich we saved for 4 years to be able to do this. this is incredibly unacceptable and I can't believe that you would treat people this way, I feel completely discriminated against for being foreigners and like you guys could absolutely care less. when all these concerns were brought up to excel all he said was he had a gift to offer us I don't want to get you wasted my time you wasted my money I was lied to was somebody that I thought and that I was told that I could trust. this needs to be fixed.

They sell tours and then cancel the tour.
They sold me a tour, and then cancelled it because not enough people bought the tour at the resort. Why sell a product if you can't deliver. Amstar did the same thing in Cancun last year.

Choose a different company!
I should have read reviews before booking this company. Usually I'd opt to rent a car but I didn't think I needed one for my trip to Curacao. On getting to the airport, there was no "sign card" of my name and the email confirmation made no mention of where to meet the person so of course I missed the pickup. I waited around and tried to call the many numbers listed for Amstar and they were all not working, I had to ask someone from a different airport transfer company about Amstar only for him to point me to a lady who was standing a few feet from me next to the Sandals sign. To my dismay, there was a list of other companies and theirs was on the bottom, in terrible lettering easy to miss if you were standing a couple of feet from it. Luckily the driver returned and was able to pick me up.
Now to my return, someone messaged me the day before and confirmed a driver would be picking me at the designated time. Of course, 12:38 pm on my confirmation email came (nothing) so I figured the time was probably in AST not EST. 1:30 comes around and nothing, I reached out to the guy from the previous night to confirm what time the driver would pick me because my flight was boarding at 2:38 PM and nothing. I left a message and called a couple of times. At this point it was getting closer to 2 PM so I made alternate travel arrangements for a taxi so I could get to the airport.
I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone and I would give them a zero stars if I could. I plan to dispute the charge once I get back home. The service was abhorrent and non existent. Use them at your own risk.

Booked a tour in Costa Rica
Booked a tour in Costa Rica. Waited in the lobby of our hotel for 30 minutes longer than out departure time at 730am. Amstar no showed us and didn't contact us to advise the tour was canceled due to lack of bookings. At 730Am we couldn't reach anyone at the 800#...fortunately our hotel concierge had a friend that worked for the tour company he called on his cell phone and was able to let us know what's going on. We made the best of it by moving around our other bookings but the no call no show is unacceptable. Will never book with Amstar again.

At the initial pick up from the airport, we were provided our paperwork. The paperwork included our confirmation tickets for the trip from the airport to our hotel and back. The representative reviewed the information and stated the pick up time from the hotel to the airport for our return trip.
On the day of return, the driver showed up to my hotel 4 hours and 30 minutes before my departure. The agreed pick up time was 3 hours before my flight was to take off. Driver told me he had to go and didn’t have a phone # for Amstar. Definitely wouldn’t ever use them again.
