Booked through my insurance
At the beginning I was kept up to date regularly - but then after a few weeks I struggled to find out what was happening and had numerous delays that were only communicated last minute (after I’d changed my work plans)… and sometimes only because my car hire was auto renewed.
When the work was done though and delivered I was very happy - and the guy delivering it was fab. There was an issue with the seat so I had to pop it back to site for them to resolve and whilst again it took numerous attempts to organise it did get done in the end. 12947

Poor experience
My car went in for an accident repair and I asked them to carry out a small repair which was nothing to do with the accident This they agreed to do and I signed to say that I would pay for the repair. When the car was returned to me the accident repair had been carried out satisfactory but the small repair had not been done, not only that I found out later that a tire inflator which was in the boot well had gone missing. I reported this to them by email several times and tried to phone them without success and eventually I got to speak to someone who said the service manager would return my call when he had finished what he was doing. I am still waiting!!

High standard of repairs
In general I was very pleased with the service provided by Alton Cars. The repairs carried out were to a high standard and the driver who collected and delivered my car back to me was friendly and professional; I was impressed that this service was offered. On two occasions I found it difficult to get through on the phone to speak to anyone and I would've welcomed a little more pro-activity but, overall, this wasn't a problem and shouldn't detract from my otherwise high opinion of the service provided by Alton Cars. 12921

Everyone I spoke too were really friendly and helpful. Special call out to the lady on reception and your teams who contacted AA to find out why my alloys had been declined and got approval for them to be repaired. They got me in super quick, and fixed them while I waited. 12919

Really impressed with the service
Really impressed with the service. The repair was done to an excellent standard, and there is absolutely no trace of the incident, the car looks as good as new! I would have loved for the repair to have started a little sooner, but I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed from collection to repair and return. I also really appreciated the car being cleaned before it was returned. The collection and delivery staff were very polite and professional, and the courtesy car was great. Highly Recommended

Hadn't heard of Alton Cars before but AA informed me they would be repairing my vehicle. Was contacted same day and informed that my car would be collected the following day and I would be contacted 30 minutes before arrival. Everything went to plan collection and delivery after repair and Paul was great throughout. Very pleased with the repair which was carried out and completed within the estimated time. 12848

My car looks better than new
My car looks better than new. It has had a few older scratches repaired as well. I had a new bumper and new drivers wing put on and it looks like nothing has even happened. I also had the wheel replaced which came with a new branded Toyota wheel trim.
I was called every 72hrs with an update and when I couldn’t answer the phone, I was emailed instead.
The staff were friendly, polite and informative.

Absolutely appalling experience with…
Absolutely appalling experience with Alton Cars. My car had paint runs down it after the repair, and despite it being taken back and supposedly repaired twice, the standard of work was still not acceptable and I rejected it both times.
The staff were extremely rude throughout the whole experience. I had three separate arguments with them, which should never have been necessary. Trying to get updates was also incredibly frustrating — I would call and either get no answer or be told someone would call me back, which they never did.
I have now collected my car and taken it elsewhere, and honestly, it looks worse than it did when it went in after the crash. Dirt marks in the paint work and a part of the door actually came off an hour after collecting
What is also extremely concerning is that 85 miles had gone from my petrol clock despite the journey supposedly being only around 11 miles. I have been given no reasonable explanation for where those extra miles came from. The staff have also said my car went to another garage which my insurance were not aware of.
After everything, I have completely lost trust in this company. The workmanship, communication and customer service have all been extremely disappointing. I would not recommend Alton Cars and I certainly would not use again.
