Absolute disgraceful customer service
Absolute disgraceful customer service! We have been locked out of our account for some reason and trying to get this reactivated is a nightmare. Up to 3 working days apparently. In that time we are receiving no orders and our company will probably not survive due to their incompetency
Customer Service has gone.
They have removed the ticket system and don't answer live chat. Now need to find a new provider, doubt I will get a refund.
Awful customer service
Awful customer service: I cannot get into my account & need some help but cannot contact 123 Reg. They have a high cost 0345 phone number they do not answer, idiots on X that do not help at all & they ignore Facebook posts: Domains are important - Avoid like the plague.
Just tried contacting 123-reg customer…
Just tried contacting 123-reg customer support via the live chat. After waiting more than 40 mins I gave up. Their service has become very poor since they removed ticket option. The live chat and phone service does not tell you how long you need to wait. It simply keeps on sending an automated message saying sorry for the delay. This poor service is not good enough and you need to so something urgently before customers start leaving you. We have been using the service for many years but now thinking about leaving.
terrible company
terrible company. Avoid using them for email. Nothing but trouble. Currently no email is working.
Yet again email down recovery emails…
Yet again email down recovery emails never sent to the recovery email address, waited for a call which never came, customer service non existent, very quick to take the money but slow to fix things.
Not so Deluxe "Upgrade"
Felt pressured over phone conversation during which I stated "I don't trust you" and "I feel I have no choice" to "upgrade" to a deluxe hosting package which seems to offer nothing of any significance than what I already pay for, plus I had to pay five years upfront. I had to contact them again to gain access to the terms and conditions of my new package. The chat service is like talking to a "computer says no" Ai bot of no real help or customer service skills whatsoever. I had to pay immediately then wait for the SSL and other services to be renewed. The new package crosses over services I already have but I get no refund on the crossover period. This is on a product that almost doubled in price without notification. So they obviously hiked the price to get customers to "upgrade" to a service that lowers the monthly fee they'd previously hiked in the first place. How dodgy is that!??! Black Mirror!
My web hosting was via TSO Host and…
My web hosting was via TSO Host and they were the best ever. Then some execs had to decide they wanted to take their golden parachute and sell us all down the river to 123-reg. They are nothing like TSO was. Their online interface is complicated beyond requirements because they have to always throw marketing in your face when you're just trying to do a menial task. Mail servers are a constant hassle as it takes up to 1/2 hour to get an email from someplace common like gmail. This is a nightmare when you are on a website that wants to send you a confirmation code, doesn't ask how, and sends it to your email. About 1/2 the time the code has expired before you get it. And the false alarm marketing... "Oh, you're about to lose all your products! Renew now to save them!!!". It's a hosting account that I pay monthly, manually. Religiously. When it is 27 days until the next renewal date, there is no reason to send those alarmist emails. It's just hassle to get you to sign up for automatic payments. Server response? Don't care. Haranguing you into signing up for auto-pay? A corporate priority. Customer service seems to only be able to say, "That was TSO Host, not us. We don't understand". Yeah. I KNOW you're not TSO Host. How about- maybe- looking at why they were loved and try to emulate just a tiny bit of that?
***UPDATE***
OK. This how shady they are. After I published this review I read the others and realized I should cancel the domain's auto-renew setup that bills once a year. When I went to the site I was truly shocked. Look at their rating here. And guess what's at the top of their home page? Rated Excellent 4.2 out of 5 stars based on 20,122 reviews...followed by the TrustPilot logo! So, they announce on their home page that they are committing fraud and will lie to you, first thing you read.
They breach the The Payment Services…
They breach the The Payment Services Regulations 2017 and do not care - claiming that they are not 'UK based' so don't have to comply.
They've taken unauthorised payments through a paypal account which had been de-authorised, and for much more than initially stated for the package renewal. They refuse to refund stating 'they can't' (they legally have to) and then when you threaten to open a dispute they threaten to cancel/delete your domains and hosting packages. We bought a hosting package including SSL, which they then refused to acknowledge that SSL is included and wanted to charge hundreds for a cert. which they declared 'must' be provided through them. Since this, when trying to renew domains using a company card, they are again forcing payment through paypal, without giving any option whilst processing the 'basket'. To make matters worse, you select your renewals and when you go to make payment, they change your selection to include further renewals/packages/longer subscription windows. This is outright fraud. When challenged they refuse to discuss without opening a ticket, which just gets dismissed. They cannot be trusted, stay away.
**** ROGUE COMPANY ****
**** ROGUE COMPANY - BEWARE ****
Do not give this company your money, they will find any excuse to switch off your website on a friday night and guess whate, support is Mon - Fri !! My website has be switch off 5 times this year even after I Made all the necessary changes they talked me through. I then spend 3 hours on the phone and still no access.
terrible service and product
Service was always spotty. Final straw was them randomly changing my billing frequency and it shooting up considerably without any notification or permission. I opened a complaint on the 29th May via their chat, which was then a ticket. As of the 26th June I still don't have a reply. I have now left them as a user. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.
123-Reg deleted my mailbox!
I stopped receiving any emails to my address hosted at 123-reg for no reason. Webmail did not seem to exist and when viewed on the control panel it was clear it was gone.... some mails still existed under the domain but this one gone. When contacting support they told me I must have deleted it, then changed the story to this can happen when I fail payments...
Now escalated to a ticket. I'm hopeful the mails are restored, but likely all that is lost.
I've had the address for over 15 years (back when 123-reg seemed to work), quite irritated is an understatement,

Email compromised, data lost, no apology, surly customer service
I hadn't received email for 48 hours. Tried to login to my account; failed to recognise password, so rang the help line. First person I spoke to was blunt to the point of rude. First he told me I had to reset my email password on the dashboard. No reason given, so I asked why. He said there had been a "problem" at 123; no details offered. I asked if there had been any breach of my private data - a reasonable question, I think. Response: 'what private data?' I specified: emails, account details and credit card. Response: 'No'. At no point was there an apology. Minimal information. I rang off and called again to get a different person. They were very helpful (although again, no apology). The problem turned out to be a missing / broken SPF record - no small matter when it comes to data security. The fault lies with 123, as they host my email. The person I spoke to fixed the problem, but didn't know if I could recover the 48 hours' worth of missing emails or why the problem had occurred; for that I had to submit a ticket, which I'm now waiting for a response on.
Once I've worked out if I can get my email back, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Even though it's clear that 123 has suffered a fault affecting numerous customers, it hasn't so much as bothered to put a banner notification on its website and it doesn't apologise for the inconvenience and likely data loss. As several other people have commented, 123 used to be a great company; I chose it on the basis of the reputation and it being UK-founded. Now of course it's effectively a brand for Go Daddy, and it's as if most people working there couldn't give a monkeys about the customers.

Really heart broken with the shadey way…
Really heart broken with the shadey way they deal with reminders and domains that have recently gone out of date. After 1 day I had the anxious experience of paying out£££ for 3 new domains and and "Right to negotiate for my old domain "
Which was presented as YOUR DOMAIN IS STILL AVAILABLE £70 ...at no point did they say, you have a grace period, no need to fork out... they had my mobile number, but only give option to text codes to a land line IN ORDER TO RECOVER OLD LOG IN DETAIL. Purposefully out of step and difficult.
Shadey bad practice & money grabbing in my opinion...
Could easily trade much more kindly
Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company. They have no contact email address and there call centres do not want to help you. I no longer have a domain name with them yet they are debiting me for the cost despite it having a different owner.
Just a terrible company who gladly take your money and then blank you thereafter.
shockingly incompetent
my old email inbox got deleted, i messaged them about it to try and recover it, they didn't and now more than 15 days has elapsed they've said it cant be retrieved.
I begged them to do it because I couldn't navigate their horrible UI, and now all my emails are gone.
This fluff up will have real world consequences on my career and the emotional destress this has caused me cant be articulated at this point.
They couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery
My website used for my business
My website used for my business was transferred to this bunch from webfusion/TSO Host and now I have read the reviews find that my experience is not unique.
Website still offline with them claiming they didn't have my details yet they were able to take the domain and hosting fees OK from my bank back in March.
3 days or more to reply when I answer their questions the latest being the email I supplied cannot be used because it is already on my account (which was setup by them). It is my only email address.
They now want an alternative email which of course I do not have as I only need and use one.
Tried the on-line chat to try and sort this out but they could not find my account because they had set up an account for me using my existing email which was on a different server?
Absolutely useless company
If you are reading this then check it out with the other reviews which from my experience are all genuine
