Had a really good experience over 5-6 months of accutane/isotretinoin treatment whilst on the NhS wait list

I’ve been on their treatment for just over 3 months now and it’s been working great. I’m on a tablet treatment and a cream treatment which they’ve increased over time (the cream).
The team are super responsive and there each step of the way. I’d definitely recommend.

I have been in contact with Zapped about starting Roaccutane. All was going well and I have been getting responses via email rather quick however now that I am ready to pay for a consultation and get the ball rolling, I haven't heard back for 2 days? Do they want my money and to help? Their website states help is 1 click away however this doesnt seem to be the case? I need to get this moving along and start my treatment but so far I dont have much faith.

Waited far too long on the NHS referral so went privately. First consultation was rapidly arranged and I started the roaccutane course as soon as the initial blood tests came back normal. I recommend getting blood test done at your gp if possible as you may find difficultly drawing blood at home using the venous kit. Monthly consultation can be done from your phone and are usually done on the evening so it’s perfect if you have work during the day. My dermatologist Dr. Rajeev has been fabulous to talk to. It does cost money but it is definitely worth it, I finally got a nhs refferal letter after 13 months from going to the gp!

It’s a shame we have to go private in the first instance but zapped were great. Consultant very understanding of teenagers, which made for a more relaxed experience and we liked the online consultation as no time wasted getting to and from appointments.

Zapped team is very helpful, kind and reassuring in dealing with my acne, they’ve been very responsive via e-mail. I’ve been having treatment with them for 3 months now and I’m really grateful that I have run into their website, i’m very pleased with the result of my treatment with them.

Really useful company. Quick replies, sending my treatment was easy and everyone was very helpful.

I like the idea of this company as it’s convenient to access private prescriptions for dermatology without a waiting list, or feeling you are burdening the NHS and I initially thought charges were fair and transparent. The dermatologist was friendly and emails were generally responded to promptly.
Systems and organisation could be vastly improved however. I had to do blood tests at an in person clinic (at extra cost) as it was impossible for me to get enough blood through self-administered tests. These were monthly, I had to work out when to have them to ensure they fitted with dermatologist appointments, and ensure appointments were timed so I didn’t run out of medication. I had to remember to do pregnancy and follow up tests each month a day in advance. A number of incorrect test kits were sent out so I had to check these each time and arrange return/disposal.
I had to calculate the medication dose myself using an online calculator and correct the dermatologist as this was initially too low.
A number of extra charges were added as I had opted to (slightly) extend treatment time. When I queried this I was directed back to the contract, I had expected this to be pointed out/billed for as they were incurred. They included a£100 for an additional 6 minute appointment. The additional charges were wrong (twice), I had to work everything out and point this out, no apology was given.
Overall it was so much time and effort I began to wonder what I was paying for. Surely with a bespoke website etc it is possible to automate many of these things?

I wish I had found ZappedSkin sooner!!! It's been absolutely life changing for me. I've struggled for 14 years with getting support for my acne through the NHS, many hours researching different strategies to try and lots of money on various products.

I was a little nervous about the investment of money for the service at first but I have no regrets now I have completed my care with ZappedSkin. The installments made it very accessible and my skin is the BEST it's ever been. I used to wear foundation every day and I no longer wear it anymore.

The dermatologist, Dr Omair Hameed, was amazing throughout my care. I often brought many questions and he would ensure to answer all of these. I was also a little nervous to try Isotretinoin but Dr Hameed was very reassuring and supportive throughout the process.

The service is very accessible with online appointments and sending medication and tests to your door - it's saved so much time in comparison to NHS apps where you have to travel for all these aspects.

If you're someone who has struggled with acne - definitely recommend taking a leap with this company. They've been wonderful from start to finish.

So glad i found Zapped Skin! The whole process from start to finish was very quick and easy.
Huge credit to the team for creating such an accessible and affordable platform for people who are really struggling with their skin. I have now completed my Isotretinoin journey and couldn't be happier. These guys are truly amazing!

In my experience, the staff at Zapped have been great. They're friendly and very responsive to my emailed questions. However, I wish there was more explanation and time to discuss the treatment in the appointments, as they are limited to 15 minutes long and are often cut shorter than that.
