Wickes - South Shields Anmeldelser 

This is the third review that I have written for the wickes South Shields store over the last few years They are all positive and all highlight areas of excellent customer service .As anyone knows in business , consistency is the key and their customer service is definitely that .
Today I was helped by Dawn who was excellent. I had a struggle to find the right colour match and she took time to compare all options . She helped me to find items without actually being asked . It is always a pleasure to go into Wickes I have never had anything but good customer service. Today was no exception

I use South Shields store almost everyday and have done for years. Staff are great and helpful. Today I was served by Kerry and she was really helpful and professional.

Lynne in the South Shields store was absolutely fantastic. We're doing a renovation and she was so helpful and happy to answer any questions. Her customer service was top tier!

We sat with Sam Liu to get a quote for a new kitchen. He was really helpful, knowledgeable and did not put any pressure on us to make a quick decision.

As a regular customer to the south shields store I always have a good shopping experience. The customer service is second to none and the store is always well presented and well stocked. I was helped by Tanya in the store today who was really helpful with answering questions about mixing paint. She is a valued team member to your business. I look forward to shopping in the store again.

What an absolute superstar Brian is! He is such a polite gentleman, easily approachable and very helpful. He helped me take my goods to the car and even put it all in the boot. Wickes, this guy is an amazing credit to you. Thank you so much, an A* for Brian.

I was looking to buy a palm sander and asked Brian for advice Brian gave me his non biased opinion which one would suit me and then he recommended to me the Bosch one. The sander needs a battery which comes separately and he said that he would check if there was a offer on the battery which there was it came free!
His help was much appreciated and a credit to Wickes

Absolute gem! So approachable and didn’t laugh at my stupid questions over paint yesterday afternoon! Really appreciated his help. Also no judgement when the little one started stimming he just kept talking about Dinosaurs and his little girl. Thanks again Brian!

All I can say from start (to not even finished yet!) is overpromised and under delivered.

From the moment we had an in store appointment until now over three weeks into a fitting of a small (but only) bathroom in our home, there's been nothing but issues.

In the design appointment, we were promised and sold the bathroom on the basis that it would be completed before the due date of our baby boy. However, the fitter categorically said weeks later after we paid the deposit that this was not possible. However, as the bathroom was designed, we thought, what could possibly go wrong, however, things got a LOT worse. We were PROMISED this would take three weeks maximum.

Starting with deliveries, these were all promised in a single day. From 7 deliveries, 4 showed up with 3 being delayed, even though we had booked time of work to facilitate receipt of these. We had to take further time off work to facilitate this.

The fitter then started a day late. Pulled out the bathroom on day 3, and now on day 22, we still only have the old toilet. No shower, no bath, no sink, with a 7 week old baby to look after.

Although plastering was agreed and priced in, the bathroom fitter did not believe we needed this done (did not communicate this with us) so towards the end of the first week when he realised, no plasterer was booked in, causing the first delay. Next delay was the tiling. It appears that the bathroom fitter did not set expectations on the tiling required, so into the second week, the tiler who was already a week late due to a job over running, refused the job due to not knowing it was a herringbone tiling design. Bare in mind we have had rendered plans, surely he would have knew? But guess expectations weren't set with him. A new tiler is booked in for day 24. But are told by the previous tiler it could be TWO WEEKS of work, that's why he turned it down, bare in mind we are already 3 weeks in.

The quality of work so far also falls below the baseline of any bathroom I have seen at Wickes. The cutting out of the floor tiles is very messy and in some cases the pattern on the tiles do not align to the next.

The house is full of dust, with a baby this is very concerning, but every time we call our 'assigned project manager' who is never available, we are promised a call back which never happens. How are we meant to live in a house with a single toilet and no shower for weeks upon end. We don't even have a light, working bath or sink. This is shocking.

So essentially, this is still ongoing, living in a house which is barely inhabitable with very slow progress.

Called in on Sunday a asked for some help with building materials to build my tortoise table,dan who helped me with were the materials are couldn't help me enough she made my shopping experience so much easier and shes a huge credit to the business nothing was to much trouble

Sam was an excellent design consultant. He listened to our needs and ideas for the kitchen and was a keto turn them into a reality. He remembered little details that mattered to us to make our design meeting specialty. He is an excellent and speedy communicator and I would recommend him to anyone
