Wickes - Leeds Roundhay Anmeldelser 

Well what an absolute shocker this has been.
(A little side note: multiple problems and conversations are missing from this review just because of how long it already is. But I can tell you now, this review is only a quick summery of how bad this has been)

So first things first. We decided to go to Wickes given it’s a big company, we assumed that given this was our first time decorating a bathroom we wanted as little hassle as possible and wanted a big company that we could contact if we needed any help or advice. We also was willing to pay a bit of a premium to have the process completed by one company rather than having to go between multiple different venders and fitters.

So we booked an appointment and had Simon come round and measure. We then went down to wickes to pick out our design. During this process multiple things happened that meant we was under the impression everything was included from fitting, as well as all bathroom items and tiles etc. To give you some examples when we chose our tiles, we were told that if we weren’t 100% happy with the choice, we could supply our own and they would “adjust the price accordingly”. We also had another experience where me, my partner and my mother (via phone) (who’s the landlord of the property) all asked at the end before paying “does the £11000+ price include everything?” Simon replied “yes, that’s everything”

A month later the fitter came to inspect and it seemed like a pretty normal job according to him. However it was only now we where told that the tiles we picked in store was just for a laugh, as these weren’t included, he even admitted he’s had this problem before and that the shop doesn’t seem to explain this very well. I then contacted the shop to find that they aren’t included and was basically called a liar over the phone when i explained what we was told. Now it’s worth noting on this phone call Simon wasn’t available because he was on jury duty. Personally I can’t understand why I have to wait for somebody to come back from a minimum two week jury duty to get an update. But this was then made worse when they tried to figure out a solution. One of the solutions was the special works bill. Taylor said on the phone the £1700 price was already a little high and they could look into this…. A day later I got an invoice from the fitter saying the special works price had gone from £1700 to £2300. It also included work like fitting a new extractor (we had a new one installed) or full plastering (the fitter said they wouldn’t be plastering, they would board instead). So the solution seemed to just be increasing the price and charge me for work that isn’t been done….

I did then get in touch with a person called Karl. He asked me to send the full invoice to an email to investigate what has gone wrong. 2 week later I ring to find out what’s happening given I’ve heard nothing, turns out Karl has left and nobody knows about this. I then asked for a new manager to be told he’s busy. They took my number to give me a call back and that’s where I am at right now.

It’s also worth mentioning that I’ve actually missed out loads of other issues here just because of how long this review already is. But for anybody thinking about using wickes, this is the level of customer service you will get whiles handing over well over £10,000. Now imagine if something goes wrong, I can’t imagine how hard to would be to claim a warrant etc.

We were extremely pleased with customer service at Wickes Roundhay Leeds, where Karl was very helpful explaining how to lay the laminate flooring with panels that we bought at this shop. He is a very experienced carpenter and was willing to share his knowledge with us, as it was our very first attempt at doing our flooring ourselves. His expertise is invaluable and customers like us are very grateful for his time and effort to help us understand the process, materials and what we would need. He explained what additional items will be required, showed us on the shop floor where and what to find and what to choose helping the decision making process easier. We hope our DIY will now go smoothly and we certainly will share with him our experience after the work is completed. Wishing Karl and Roundhay Wickes all the best. Very grateful Greg and Simona.

Went to the Wickes store at Leeds Roundhay and was met with the best members of staff, specifically Karl and Stephen. I was welcomed by Stephen who helped me get my list of items and Karl graciously assisted me in getting them together and eventually into my car. They were kind, humerous and put me at ease. I was glad to have gone to this store.

My personal designer Simon at the Roundhay branch, was nothing short of amazing, he was very knowledgeable and helpful and designed the perfect kitchen and bathroom for me and my partner. He has continued to give support right up to delivery and is always on hand should I ever need help or advice. Thank you Simon for giving us a no hassle experience!

Karl from the Leeds Roundhay store was extremely hopeful and made our experience effortless in Wickes. Really commendable service helped us from start to finish. Knowledgable around screws and what sizes to use. As a female this was a breathe of fresh air and we are really thankful.

Top class service during our appointment designed just what we wanted even tho we have changed are mind on a couple things after the appointment but we got what we asked for, we will be going back and ordering kitchen once we are ready for it to be installed

I purchased a kitchen and the staff members were a great help, offering knowledge and design support at every step.

Particular thanks should go to Taylor who made the process easy and enjoyable, especially aa he always listened to ideas with patience and understanding. Even though the kitchen that I was purchasing was only small, I feel that Taylor provided the same exceptional service, that I imagine he offers to customers who are purchasing much higher value kitchens. His customer service skills, and design knowledge should be applauded
I have other kitchens to replace soon and will certainly be using Wickes again as a consequence of the fantastic care and customer service by both Taylor and his manager Justyna

Visited to sort our some wrong size timber sheets - popped in on a bank holiday Monday...team couldn't have been more helpful and upbeat. Particular credit to Karl the store manager who was entirely positive and sorted the exchange for me straight away. Great service by the Wickes Roundhay team!

I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Pam, the Manager at Roundhay Wickes, for supporting our street’s 100th anniversary celebration by kindly donating flowers for our community display.

Her generosity helped me create a beautiful floral display that was admired by so many neighbours and visitors throughout the day. It was a wonderful gesture that showed real community spirit.

Carl and team do an amazing job. Very friendly staff who are alway willing to help and make you feel welcome.

Simon was very insightful and helped us with the design stage and was very up front with the pricing.
The store was well laid out and we we able to wander around and peruse the the kitchens and bathrooms that were on show.
The home visit went well, Simon arrived on time and made the necessary measurements.

Simon was great to deal with we got there without an appointment and squeezed us in and within 10/15 minutes he’d beaten B&Q’s quote for the exact same kitchen appliances sink everything by almost 2 grand and came out the very next day to measure up. Highly recommend the process up to this point has been smooth

Visited Roundhay store today as I had ordered 40 paving slabs and 8 bags of sand via Click and Collect which wasn’t the best idea I’ve ever had. We were absolutely delighted with the way we were treated by a member of staff John.
He loaded both mine and my father’s vehicles up with all the paving slabs and sand and was extremely considerate and helpful. He went above and beyond. He is a valuable asset to Wickes. Thank you John. Pippa and Eric.

Dave was really polite, Helpful and friendly I had to ask him a few questions which he was happy to assist me.
He made my visit easier with his knowledge

A very good service when buying and the set up of my £19,000 solar panels and batteries, but in March of this year I changed my broadband provider, my LuxCloud stopped working. After numerous phone calls I have been passed from pillar to post even given a number in London to ring, who then passed me back to Solar fast.
The after care service this company provides is none existent.

Adam at Leeds Roundhay gave me really good service today. Very friendly and helpful. Thank you Adam.
