The skip the line tour that doesn't!
Please be aware that if you book a tour of St Mark's Basilica and it rains so the boardwalks are in use it is impossible to get to the meeting point. The advice the company will give by phone is that you must join the line with everyone else. No refund will be given despite the company not fulfilling the 'skip the line' part of their advertising.
Not impressed!

Dear Peta Honey,
we are sorry you were not satisfied with our service. Unfortunately, the phenomenon of ‘acqua alta’ cannot always be forecast in advance and this may cause problems to visitors or even fully inhibit the access to the Basilica. As per your case, tours are usually suspended only in the case of exceptional high water and we can assure you that you would have certainly refunded, if your tour was cancelled! If the tide level does not prevent the regular operation of the tour, it regularly takes place and participants are not allowed to get any refund, even if the skip-the-line service does not operate regularly due to force majeure reasons . We apologize for any inconvenience but high water is a real problem for Venice and its inhabitants and it may affect the experience of tourists as well. We can assure you that we always do our best in order to minimize any inconvenience to our customers.

Escursione ben organizzata e …

Escursione ben organizzata e dall’ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo, l’unico appunto che mi sento di fare è la gestione della visita a Murano che potrebbe essere fatta senza l’obbli di passare per la vetreria convenzionata in modo da avere la possibilità per chi vuole di visitare il paese.

grazie per la tua recensione! Come indicato online, la visita alla vetreria è facoltativa: i partecipanti che desiderano utilizzare il tempo a disposizione durante la sosta a Murano per visitare l'isola in autonomia devono semplicemente comunicarlo al personale di bordo.

Booked online an entry to S. Marco - turned out the basilica was closed at this particular time and date for some event! Guys, this is 21st century, the times of events are known well ahead!

unfortunately we are not always warned in advance about all the exceptional closures of St. Mark’s Basilica, otherwise we will not sell tickets for unavailable dates. As for Friday 22 September, we were warned about the exceptional closure only in the late morning and we promptly notified it to all the customers who had a reservation after 1.30 pm. We apologize for the inconvenience, however please note that both online and on the voucher we clearly specify: ‘The Procuratoria di San Marco, which is the organ in charge with the baslica management, reserves the right to prohibit visits and access to the basilica at any time and without notice for reasons of force majeure (e.g. high water) and/or safety reasons, religious services not specified on the calendar and/or state visits’.

Sold ticket for closed time

Bought ticket in the morning of 22 Sep for that afternoon. Arrived at the time we purchased but the Basilica was closed for the afternoon, reason not stated. The Campanile and Doge's Palace were also closed, but had not offered for sale tickets for the period of closure. Poor form, Basilica management.

unfortunately we were warned about this exceptional closure only in the late morning of Friday 22 September, this is the reason why you were able to book tickets. As soon as we received the communication about the closure, we stopped the reservation and notified the closure to all the customers who had a booking after 1.30 pm. Firts of all, I really like to buy with you, Thanks a lot.
The only thing that i have to point is the time to choose for enter in the basilica San Marco. It's difficult to choose exactly a time without never went to the city, probably put 8h-10h or 10h-12h for example should be better to programming the visit.

thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately we cannot manage the time slots as you suggested, since we would not be able to guarantee a skip-the-line service... If you had no precise time slot to entry, there would be a long queue also at the skip-the-line entrance and our service would be complitely useless!

RIPPED OFF PLUS AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

We paid 279 Euros for a private water taxi to take us from Marco Polo Airport directly to our hotel in central Venice. When we were collected at the airport we were told that we would have to be dropped off at the Rialto Bridge and would have to walk to our hotel due to high tides. This was understandable as high tides in Venice are very common. However, when we got to the hotel we were told that there were no high tides at the time.
Worse still we were due to be picked up from our hotel at 4.30am for our return journey. We were sent a fax to our hotel the night before stating that we had to meet at the Rialto bridge instead, with no explanation as to why we were not being picked up at our hotel which we had booked and paid a lot of money for, this was inexcusable as there were no high tides. When we contacted Venetoinside to query this, we were completely dismissed and told we had to take it up with the taxi company as it had nothing to do with them, even though we had booked through them. We were unable to get through to the taxi company and had to walk to the Rialto Bridge at 4am with all our luggage. To be honest i was disgusted with the level of service received and feel totally ripped off by this company.

we are sorry you were not satisfied with our service. Actually, most of the facts you complained above are included in the notes you should have read both before booking – the page on which you booked the service online – and after completing your reservation, since these notes are specified also on the voucher. Please find below the notes we provide to our customers:
- Online: For all transfers via water taxi from and to accommodation in Venice city center, the docking for embarkation/disembarkation is provided at the accommodation or at the nearest pier. Because of the particular morphology of the city and the unpredictable conditions of the tide, if the accommodation does not allow for the docking of the water taxi a short walk may be required.
- On the voucher: Due to the city’s particular morphology and the unpredictable flooding events, the hotel might not allow the water taxi to drop you off. You will be instead dropped off at the closest point. Taxi drop off you at the nearest pier. Possible short transfer on foot , from pier to hotel.
The water taxi will wait for you at the hotel or at the closest taxi drop off point.
We cannot know who told you that there was no high tides on the day of your arrival but we can assure you that if the drivers told you that, of course he was not lying! We can assure you that our supplier organizes transfer services daily and, as you see from a quick look at the reviews on venetoinside.com, almost all of our customers are satisfied with the service. Moreover, as specified above, high tides are not the only reason to not be dropp off/pick up at your accommodation.
When you contacted us, you were told to contact our suppliers’ number specified on the voucher to arrange a different pick point directly with them… We are only a reseller of this service and, for this reason, the voucher provides both the office and the emergency phone numbers of our supplier, numbers that you never called to ask for clarifications concerning your transfer.
As things stand, we understand that you could not be satisfied with the service but that you felt ripped off seems a bit extrem considering that we are transparent in informing our customers about how transfer services might be carry out before they book and that we provide all the contacts to ask for clarifications or try to rearrange the service. We regret you didn’t take benefit from this, since everything could have been solved before your return journey to the airport.
