I had paid for 24 hour delivery but the package took 72 hours - I emailed customer services and they promptly refunded my postage.

I purchased a pair of Zara silk trousers online at T K Maxx, the seam came apart after one wear, disappointed as I really liked the trousers but you can see the seams did not have enough fabric. I drove to my nearest store, who refused a refund or credit note despite admitting the trousers were clearly faulty. The reason they gave was that the purchase was made 2 months ago. My understanding of consumer rights is as follows;
Rights Between 30 Days and Six Months
If you discover damage after the first 30 days but within six months, the retailer must first offer a repair or replacement. If this fails or causes significant inconvenience, you can then request a refund or price reduction. Provided you can show the item did not last a reasonable period given its nature and price.
One wear in 2 months is clearly not reasonable.
I have purchased a lot of items from T K Maxx over the years and this is the 2nd time I have had a faulty item they refused to do anything about. So this is the last time I will be buying from T K Maxx, discounted items do not mean they can choose to ignore the law.

Customer service is absolute dire

You order something via click and collect states it will be in the store on a certain date. They don’t dispatch the item till it’s the day it is meant to be in the store.

Catherine was Very polite and efficient

Daniel was pleasant, friendly & helpful. He asked relevant questions about the fault and requested photos, without making me feel uncomfortable.
Almost immediately as I sent the photos, the refund was being arranged despite it being amongst closing time for the phone lines, asking with a pleasant email.
This was a good customer service interaction.

UPDATED: The item I purchased was fabulous - well worth the money. It arrived 5 days after I ordered it. It took a long time to reach Royal Mail after being 'dispatched' - 3 days. This isn't the buying experience I expect when ordering online in 2026. I paid for delivery (not next day). The cost was over £4. For that, I would expect to receive ordered items in around 3 days. To be a relevant force in online retailing, the brand needs to speed up dispatch times.

TK Maxx were let down by their delivery company (Royal Mail), who left a parcel in view of the street. It was stolen within 4 minutes, all caught on camera. I called the next morning and got through quickly. The customer service representative, Anna Maria, was excellent, and after asking for a single photo showing where the package was left, confirmed a refund would be processed. Great service, even if I would prefer if they used or gave the option of DPD for higher value packages.

Bad service and unhelpful people like usual once they receive tiur money they wont even answer the phone

Click & collected boots in store - when I examined them at home (30 mins later) they have significant damage.... Took clear photos and a video and contacted customer service asking for a returns postage label (as its inconvenient / expensive for me to get to store and I shouldn't have to pay return postage for a faulty item).

Received a bit of a robotic reply - 'Sorry to hear the condition your boots are now in - take them to store and we'll assess them and decide whether you can have a refund'

Confused re 'condition the boots are 'now' in - they are in the same condition as when you sold them to me - damaged!

Obviously didnt even read the email re I cant easily get to store and would like a pre paid label.

AI 'customer service' that is NOT helpful....

Items are obviously seconds / faulty though NOT advertised as such..... Return postage not covered (even for faulty items - pretty sure thats illegal)...

AVOID purchasing anything from here if you like easy resolve to any issues (or prefer not to receive dodgy items in the first place).

Spoke to James on the phone to voice concerns on behalf of my partner. I was met with the utmost proffesionalism and a personal touch that made my partner feel secure and appreciated. A truly exceptional customer service exchange!
