The Melton Building Society team in Bourne are really approachable and welcoming.
The financial advice I received was extremely good and they structured it really well getting me thinking about short/medium and longterm financial goals.
I genuinely feel they are thinking about what I need rather than whats best for the business which is always the worry with the larger banks.
I thoroughly recommend going to the Bourne Melton building society as, by being local, you get to see the same great team and you are genuinely a customer not just a number to them

Wasted my time to try and open a fixed rate savings account. After taking my time to fill out all the info - the button to submit the application is broken (I then tried a second browser).

One has to wonder what sort of imbeciles are running this bank's website.

As a present customer unable to operate the online system to reinvest so knowing they had a branch on Grantham High Street made a successful visit to a very pleasant, professional employee. I doubt if many uk businesses first ask their employees how they can improve performance.

I liked the interest rate very much. Applying for the account on line was unsuccessful rejected for no apparent reason. I phoned and told an application form would be forwarded, no reason given for regection of form completed on line. Form completed exactly as online. Accepted and account opened promptly. Staff very helpful and professional.

I have always had a professional and friendly service when I have been into the Melton branch. They are always smiling and happy to help.

I have to go to the Oakham branch regularly to sort out a cheque for my Mum’s care fees.The staff are always very friendly & helpful ; today James,as usual was efficient & delightful to deal with.Good old fashioned customer service,which is sadly on the decline these days.PLEASE don’t close this branch 🙏

months after I a review about difficulty in making contact and then no response or acknowledgement to formal complaint, I am no further forward. Very interesting that reviews get speedy responses from Kayleigh in Marketing inviting us to contact her. But my emails got the same deafening silence as the complaint did. I had outstanding sympathy and support from my local Branch, but I know they cannot solve the problem. I had never got beyond an answering service for complaints but she did manage to speak to the complaints manager who replied they could not deal with it as it was half term! Must be a long holiday as I still have heard nothing.

Really know their stuff and provide excellent customer service.

Ben was very polite and professional. Did not rush us with all our questions. Gave us information as we requested. All the staff looked very smart in their uniforms which is a change from other banks etc that only use tshirts.

Just had a dreadful experience logging onto my Melton account to view my OWN savings. Unfortunately Melton BS seemed to have dug a moat around my point of access. Bizarrely I entered log in details, a six figure code was received and entered THEN pop up told me my log in details incorrect. Called savings option 1 (IT assistance) but just a gurgling sound at the other end of the line! Tried again on savings option 2 and a very pleasant gentleman answered pretty promptly. Please sort out option 1 or your Wi-Fi or both . Eventually turned out that as I entered my user name in capital (as I have done on numerous occasions it must now be in lower case! nobody told me. So had to reset user name and password (with the help of your customer support gentleman ( More 6 letter access codes followed some bizarrely by email ) otherwise I would have got nowhere. Following similar problems incurred last year I have real concerns about how this website is currently set up. Please spend some money NOW and sort out your online site and IT. I must have spent almost half an hour just accessing my account and clearly this is NOT acceptable in 2026.Onlr reason I have two stars was because your customer support was helpful.

When ever I have been in our local branch in Bourne the Staff have been extremely helpful the Manager Amanda is very knowledgeable and has helped me with my Isas and other investments I hold at the branch in my opinion the current staff are a great asset to the business well done Brian Rushton

The rate of interest was excellent for me for what I wanted to do. Jess was very knowledgeable about everything and explained nice and clear everything about the accounts I was interested in.

I have numerous financial accounts. Melton's account opening procedure is the most cumbersome and the software programming the WORST I have ever encountered with any financial institution. It took ages and constant re-input of data to finally get the account opened. It was only because of the attractive interest rate that I persevered to open the account. A dreadful experience and waste of my time.

After a failed attempt to open a 4.8% fixed bond on line,I visited the nearest branch armed with a latest statement from a 30 year old nominated account,driving licence,passport and Bus pass.
This morning,I received a call from the head office requesting 3 months back statements and me sensing their reluctance to open an oversubscribed offer I decided not to proceed.
Not sure if this was a marketing exercise to test their worth or something else.On line application are cumbersome and difficult to complete.
Should have trusted trustpilot from the start and not started the application.BS best for Pass book accounts and local residents,perhaps.
