Absolute praise to Pawel and all who work at Tesco Opticians, Surrey Quays (3205) I cant thank them enough for all that they have done to ensure that my glasses give me the very best vision possible, by working with me and listening to my concerns. In addition they encouraged me to try contact lenses which is something I thought that I would never have the confidence to do. Throughout the entire process of learning to fit and remove the lenses they were endlessly patient and supported me until I finally managed to get it right. This has made a big improvement to my quality of vision and also my everyday life. I would highly recommend this opticians to everyone that wears glasses as their customer service is first class with the added bonus of their frames looking far more expensive than they actually are. 11/ Many thanks from Karon.

Worst pair of lenses I've ever had. Paid £60 for two pairs of single lenses (didn't buy any frames from Tesco, I used the ones I already have).
When I collected my glasses, they were in bubble wrap bags, without the cases they were in when I made the order, when I asked about the cases, the woman kept me waiting for 15 min, returned, gave me the cases without even a "sorry about that" and turned around without a word! So professional NOT!
Lenses are made of very cheap material. Lenses weren't made properly for my prescription, at first I thought it's just a matter of time to get used to it, but even after using it for weeks I still see blurry! The first pair I got from an online shop was fantastic and around £15! Tesco such a waste of money!!

Arrived on time for first appointment to find that the store had had a major disaster with their drains and the place reeked of sewage! No one had contacted me to request a reschedule so I had already wasted the journey and taken time off from work. With much pursuading I was given a partial exam for glasses as one machine wasn't working, I wasn't given any of the contact lens exam despite having booked all.

Returned for second time a week or so later to complete my prescription exam only to be informed that they didn't have the contact lenses for me to try (they knew my reading from first appointment).

Another week and another appointment to be given the new contact lenses, but because I had astig correction in them now I would have to come back another time after wearing them for a few hrs to see how they had settled!

Fourth appointment to check fit and comfort of contacts and I was told I'd have to discard the lenses rather than set them aside whilst they checked my eyes. I told them I didn't have any more left to use and they had nothing to offer. They didn't have a bulk amount available for me to purchase so I would have to come back again to collect or get them delivered!

Each time I saw a different optician, all lovely people but collectively the experience was so shambolic and at no time did the manager recognise that the experience had been completely unnecessary and make any offer to make amends.

So that's 4 appointments, 5+ weeks elapsed time and a collection I had to inconvenience myself for with specific journeys and arrangements around work. I only bought 1 month's supply of lenses because they weren't competitive on price either because of bulk purchase or in acknowledgement of the difficulties their poor service had created.

I very much doubt there will be a response from the branch or Tesco after this review but it would be a nice surprise if all of us customers did see something suitable published in response.

After being drawn in by Tesco advertising I thought my eyes are in safe hands and things would run smoothly and efficiently, how very wrong I was. After arranging an eye test online over 2 weeks prior of my appointment for Saturday 18th March I received a phone call on Fri 17th saying it was cancelled, not to happy, I asked for an appointment straight away, reluctantly the assistant asked me to go straight to the store, when I turned up at the store at 16.45 they told me my appointment was for 17.30, I went home and returned at 17.30, the eye test was carried out by Matthew in a very professional way and went well, Matthew ordered my multifocal disposable lenses and told me 10 days. The plot thickings ! I then tried to make an appointment for 10 days time only to be told no appointments until 23rd of April. A complete waist of my time. I left the store no further forward and now finding myself looking for a new opticians.

Almost a year after my compliant and they have the cheek to send me a letter offering an eye test.. ha,ha, "you couldn't make it up" !!

i have lens plan with Tesco and I have always attend the lens/sight test check up as required.

back last December my lens hadn't been delivered, when I enquired at the store they were unable to find me as a customer ! eventually after some searching I was found on the system and was told they had stopped sending lenses as I not been for my yearly test/check

as you can imagine I wasn't amused as I had kept up to date with my appointments. I was told that it was a system issue and that they would order a 3 months supply for delivery asap. great problem solved !...until today......the same has happened again!

the same explanation given again "system issue"..so now another order has been placed.
to make matters worse i'm unable to have them for a few weeks as the store is closing for refurbishment until 3rd of April.

to be fair I was asked if i'd like to collect them at another store but as the nearest store is 10 miles away this was not an option I could take as I don't drive.

so now I have to struggle for a few weeks until I get my new order...

Poor customer service. I booked an appointment with Tesco optician ( Maidenwell Ave, Hamilton,Leicester), for my daughter. Got an appointment one month later at 16.50pm. Run to the appointment quickly after collecting my daughter from school with my other baby but we were not served by blaming the system although I received a reminder text message that confirm the appointment !!!?
I left the place me and my daughters.

I was told by 2 members of staff that if I purchased a pair of glasses at £140.00 on the buy 1 get 1 free offer I could have free basic varifocal lenses and if I wanted to upgrade then I could have £49.00 off the upgrade price. When I started my order I was told if I had the free varifocal offer then I could not get the free pair on the buy 1 get 1 free offer so in effect I could either have £140.00 frame free or £49.00 varifocal free. I asked about the 25% discount for being over 65 and was told that I could have the 25% discount instead of the free frame so in effect I could have £35.00 off £140.00 instead of the free frame worth £140.00. Why do Tesco advertise offers that are not worth getting.

Gave own glasses to be reglazed. After 2 weeks asked if glasses were ready only to be told that Tesco could not reglaze as frame I gave them did not have ce mark. The CE mark was slightly faded. However they could have advised of this before sending off. They should have at very least rung to say that the order had been cancelled. Time wasters. Avoid.

I have recently purchased my new glasses through Tesco Opticians, and I was delighted with the assistance I received when trying to find new frames that I liked. The Lady there spent a lot of time going through my choices and coming up with her choices, to ensure that I got the perfect fit and design to suit my face - so important when they are on your face almost 24/7. I would not hesitate to recommend getting your glasses at Tesco Opticians.

Awful service from the optician in the Dover store today. She made me feel like I was lying to her when answering her questions during the examination and even laughed if I didn't give the answer she was expecting. Almost walked out half way through the examination. Will go back to another opticians next time.

My husband asked for me about getting gas permeable contact lenses - the assistant said I should speak to a manager. I could not get through on the phone so went in myself.

The manager said they are very hard to fit and get hold of, and I have to keep my lenses out for 48 hours beforehand. I need to get my previous measurements otherwise they will be very difficult to measure.

Rang Boots opticians. Easy to measure, no other info required. Easy to get hold of. No need to leave out for 48 hours, no idea what Tesco are talking about. Had a feeling that the Manager there didn't either. Went back to Boots.

My first visit after issues with old optician.
They helped me pick out the style of glasses as I was on my own
Clearly explained costs which were a lot cheaper than my old service even with specialist lenses.
They turned up within 2 weeks
And then...I needed them adjusting yo get fit right and they did this for me 3 times with no complaint.
Excellent!

Glasses purchased june 2016, had to return in January due to coating lifting/clouding.
Returned 9th Jan called to collect replacements 18th Jan but wrong lenses had been put in so had to be returned to lab again!
Telephoned 6th Feb and told glasses had only been sent on the 4th Feb and should be with me by the 20th.
Very disgruntled customer without her glasses still!

I found the staff friendly. My glasses came very quickly. Thank you

All very good, the test was free and the staff were professional and not at all pushy about buying glasses there. I'd go again.

Staff have to much attitude especially the person making me read the words on the wall!! Maybe try wearing sun glasses whilst driving at night? Really?
