Teacher Horizons Anmeldelser

My experience with Teacher Horizons started well and ended extremely badly.

As long as everything was going smoothly, they were friendly, helpful and responsive. The real test came when I had a serious problem with the school they had placed me with.

I relocated to another country in good faith and, once I started working, discovered that important aspects of the position and working conditions were different in practice from what had been explained to me before accepting the job. I eventually decided to resign.

That was when I learned an important lesson about Teacher Horizons: the schools are their clients. The teachers are not.

When my interests came into conflict with those of the school, I felt Teacher Horizons’ priority was very clearly the school.

Their Terms & Conditions allow them to charge teachers $1,000 for leaving within the first 12 weeks, although those same terms allow the fee to be waived when there is a “legitimate reason” for leaving. I explained my circumstances in detail. They rejected my request and offered to reduce the charge to $700.

What particularly bothered me was their repeated emphasis on the costs and inconvenience my departure had caused Teacher Horizons and the school, while seemingly giving far less consideration to the fact that I had moved countries based on information provided during the recruitment process and had also suffered considerable financial and personal disruption.

In the end, I decided to pay the $700 simply to put an end to the dispute. I do not consider the charge fair.

My advice to other international teachers is therefore very simple: do not mistake friendly recruitment support for someone necessarily representing your interests. Read every line of their Terms & Conditions before accepting a position.

When everything goes well, Teacher Horizons may be very helpful. When something goes seriously wrong, remember who pays them.

After this experience, I will never use Teacher Horizons again.

Helpful and responsive staff and an easy to use website.

What I appreciated most was the honest and helpful communication. The team was responsive, professional and genuinely supportive throughout the process. Everything was explained clearly, and I felt I could rely on their guidance.

Thanks to Teacher Horizons, I was able to find a great teaching opportunity and take the next step in my career. I truly appreciate their dedication and support, and I would highly recommend Teacher Horizons to teachers looking for international opportunities.

My experience has been great because Teacher Horizons offers high‑quality school options across different countries and curricula—not just the limited, impossible options many other platforms provide. The adviser supporting me was exceptionally kind, diligent, and transparent. He shared accurate information about how each school operates and what their packages include, which made the process clear and trustworthy.

Teacher Horizons played an instrumental role in helping me secure my dream job. Throughout the entire application process, their agents provided comprehensive support, from the initial interview stage to offering tailored job suggestions that matched my resume and experience. They also guided me on how to perform well in interviews and how to evaluate job offers by considering both my professional experience and the cost of living in the destination country, including realistic projections for potential savings.
What makes this even more remarkable is that the entire recruitment process is completely free of charge, yet the quality of service is truly excellent.
I would highly recommend this platform to fellow international educators seeking overseas teaching opportunities. If you're considering a career move abroad, Teacher Horizons is well worth exploring; their team is genuinely dedicated to helping you find the right fit, and the level of personalised support they offer, at no cost to candidates, makes the entire process significantly smoother. The agents were truly exceptional throughout my journey.

Teacher Horizons made my international job search much easier to navigate. I appreciated being able to track the progress of my applications, as well as the support I received throughout the process. It made everything feel more transparent and much less stressful. I'm happy that this journey led me to a leadership opportunity overseas, and I'd recommend it to educators considering an international career.

I highly recommend Teacher Horizons to any teacher looking for international teaching opportunities.

From the very beginning, my experience was extremely positive. After my initial meeting with Sophie Peters, she took the time to understand my background, experience, and what I was looking for in my next role. She was incredibly supportive throughout the entire process and made sure to connect me with the right opportunities. Sophie followed up consistently, guided me through each stage of the process, and connected me with another member of the Teacher Horizons team who provided additional support and valuable insights. Her support did not stop after the interview process, she continued to guide me before, during, and after receiving a job offer.
Thank you, Sophie, and the Teacher Horizons team, for helping me take this next step in my teaching career. Searching for an international position can feel overwhelming, but having someone knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely invested in your success makes a huge difference. I truly appreciated Sophie’s professionalism, encouragement, and personal support throughout my journey.

A brilliant experience job hunting with Teacher Horizons. Alison looked after me very well and the support makes a huge difference. Thank you

My experience with Teacher Horizons has been excellent. I received full support throughout the recruitment process and continue to feel supported during the transition as I prepare for my new position.

What has stood out most to me is the strong personal touch. I have really appreciated the ongoing communication and interaction with everyone involved. Their advice has been consistently professional, thoughtful, and exactly what I needed at each stage of the process.

I would highly recommend Teacher Horizons to any educator considering an international teaching opportunity.

I had an outstanding experience working with Olivia Norris at Teacher Horizons.

From the very beginning of my international job search, Olivia believed in my profile and connected me with opportunities that genuinely matched my academic background, IB experience, and professional aspirations. Throughout the entire recruitment process, she remained supportive, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping both the school and me navigate what became a lengthy and complex hiring process.

What impressed me most was her professionalism and honesty. She consistently kept me informed, communicated with the school whenever clarification was needed, and always made herself available to answer my questions. Rather than simply acting as a recruiter, she served as a trusted adviser throughout the journey.

Thanks to her guidance and recommendation, I have now accepted a position at Colegio Colombo Británico in Colombia. I am sincerely grateful for her encouragement, patience, and commitment from the very first conversation through to the final offer.

I would highly recommend Olivia to any international educator looking for thoughtful, professional, and genuinely supportive guidance in finding the right school.

Lots of jobs on the site but if you cannot get two references verified (even though you have no control on a public school in Uzbekistan not having an official email address) Good site if you have a PGCE. If you have an iPGCE I would maybe look elsewhere as you won't get many opportunities and what you do get will be the schools that no one applies for.

I have the opportunity to meet great international schools through teacher horizons and I felt 100% supported during the whole process.

I had a fantastic experience with Teacher Horizons. They supported me in securing my current role as well as my previous position, and I can confidently say they are exceptional at what they do.

The team is incredibly professional, responsive, and highly effective in facilitating communication between candidates and schools, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. They are also genuinely kind, supportive, and always willing to help at every stage.

A special thank you to Emma, who has been especially helpful throughout my job searches. Her guidance, communication, and dedication made a real difference.

I’m very grateful for all their support and would highly recommend Teacher Horizons to any teacher looking for opportunities abroad or a new role.

Very badly managed and biased. They never answer emails and they have deleted my previous reviews. Don't go there.........especially if you have over 24 years of teaching experience!

I had a wonderful experience with Teacher Horizons! A huge thanks to Alison Mitchell, who was incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. She guided me from the initial interviews until I successfully secured my job, checking in regularly and making sure everything went smoothly. Highly recommend their professional and caring service!
