After having my phone stolen on holiday, I thought well at least I am covered with my insurance to then discover this company couldn't grasp the concept of a pickpocket. I explained that I was told by my hotel that reporting it to the police wasn't done as they wouldn't provide me with a crime number, so my claim has been denied. To be honest even before they knew that I knew it would be denied considering the email I received asking how a phone could be stolen out of a zipped back. Clearly a company full of bright sparks! What a waste of money and an extra stress I didn't need on top of an already stressful situation.

Really frustrating insurance company to deal with. Wont be using them again through holiday extras who use Taurus for gadget cover.

Had an incident on holiday which resulted in the loss of my beloved photography and video gadgets. Claim process was smooth and made me aware how important is to keep all receipts, boxes and all documents in the event of a claim. The Taurus team have been professional at all times.

Never use these guys, or post office insurance.
I insured my gadget with them through Post Office and my phone got missing after a few months, after providing all what they asked me to provide, these guys declined my claim because of the fact that my visa will soon expire..ITS A TRP AND DO NOT FALL FOR IT PLEASE

You claim I do not meet your policy criteria, you should have done your checks before accept to cover my phone.

You tried taking payment from my account even after saying you were going to terminate my contract and pay a full refund.

You need to pay for my lost phone
That’s all I want cuz I have been paying my insurance

Good company, it was through Sainsburys travel insurance but very easy to use, transparent and clear

Wouldn’t really recommend. The process was extremely slow and they take ages to respond via email. It took about a month to sort out and most of that was due to slow responses. I got asked for soo many things and i provided all of them but i still didnt get paid out in full for an item i lost due to me buying it from eBay and the original seller not being able to provide proof of purchase! (which is ridiculous considering the item was bought 4 years ago and that shouldn’t even be an obligation.
That cost me around £1500 which i will now have to replace myself.

Required a lot of information to complete the claim,but once in place the money was bank transferred in just a few days. Really good communication along the process.

Had to send the duplicate information and additional information that could have been requested in the first instance such as ID etc...
Plus the replacement equipment sent out was the wrong one, insures fault, had to be returned first before correct equipment was released, still waiting for the correct item to be sent, I have to say this is a joke1! Submitted initial claim 10 days ago!

This company needs struck off.
The behaviour of staff across all four companies they utilise for travel insurance is appalling.
Their systems don’t save.
They can book appointments.
Can’t forward a network.
Give incorrect legal advice pertaining to financial products.

Took it straight to FCA - complete negligence and failure in DOC

My claim with Taurus is still ongoing after almost a month of back and fourth after my device was stolen, I took out a travel insurance for a long trip which was very expensive.

However when my phone was stolen, they are requesting proof that I have my box when i have repeatedly said I am not in the country and one does not typically travel with their phone box.

In addition, I have not had my phone for half my holiday which is very inconvenient and I have spent many hours collating information which is almost impossible to get at times when in another country.

I do not recommend for travel insurance.

Unfortunately I am insured through this sham of a company through a work related package. If I had a choice, we would go elsewhere.

Having never had to use or claim for gadget faults before, I thought this would be straight forward. I enquired about the issues I faced and was told in no uncertain terms that this would be covered and would I like to arrange a repair through them, or take the item to Apple and be reimbursed later. I chose the latter.

I then submitted the documentation, only then to be told it was not covered and tough, please accept their apologies.

I complained and was offered an apology - great thanks. I continued to complain and was offered a measly £50.00. A far cry from the costs I incurred.

I am aware of claim policies, however it seems this company have staff employed that don't know what they are - in which case how are customers meant to know.

This review is not about obtaining more money, or even having the claim accepted, however advice to be wary of using them. Happy to take monthly fees, however when it comes to basic communication and the claim process they aren't good enough.

Disgusting service. Why would I insure my phone without it being covered for theft?

New phone received! Took gadget insurance out through Tesco travel insurance. Phone stolen on holiday and I submitted my claim on the 13th of May, new device received today 28th May. Excellent communication throughout, thank you Taurus 🤗

Clear instructions during the claim submission process. Effective automated communication once claim was submitted to manage expectations. Super efficient settlement of the claim.

So refreshing in what can often be a cumbersome process.

I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for travel insurance for gadgets. The fine print in their policy basically makes their cover pointless and geniuses claims appear are rejected!!!

The worst company ever! please don’t insure your devices with these. They had my macbook and money for 1 month and a half! and then told me they couldn’t fix it. scam and an absolute joke

No hassle, straightforward claim. Which was dealt with promptly. Communication was also excellent.

I like left a trust pilot review for this company a couple of weeks ago which they replied on here they would contact me directly they will have not (disappointed)also as I said before I paid them around 450 pounds in insurance cover plus 125 pounds in excess for a phone which is reconditioned and they would have paid around the 250 mark this is a terrible service they offer you please avoid and put the cash away if you don’t lose/damage phone quids in profit if you do .you would still be in profit
