Waited and waited for an installation date. The date finally arrived - 5 August! 2 installers eventually turned up at around 10.00am when they phoned me at work to tell me that they needed electricity to charge their battery packs. I had to drive from work back to my house to open the garage. I then drove back to work. The installers then phoned me again (whilst I was busy at work) to advise me that the drainage couldn't be built to plan and it needed to be moved from the right hand (out of the way next to a wall and gulley) to the left (next to a walkway). This now meant that it would drain all over the patio instead of a drainage channel built to the drawing. Hence when it rained last night the patio was soaked where the entrance would be causing a slip hazard. As they have caused a hazard, by not following the drawing, the drainage/pillars now need swopping from left to right (as the drawing) and the installation is on stop. Meanwhile, I have a garden full of glass/upvc. Because they need to be swopped, I have been informed I have now lost my guarantee, although the problem was caused by the sunspace installers. I am now back to square one, waiting for an installation date. Perhaps I should send Sunspace/Greensquare a copy of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (reasonable time and reasonable care and skill).

UPDATE 10 SEPTEMBER: Still awaiting for seals to be fitted, sealant to be cleaned off new patio and large pallets to be collected from front garden.

UPDATE 23 SEPTEMBER: Pallets collected but using a kitchen roll a day trying to stem the rain in wet weather. Roof also leaking.

UPDATE 27 SEPTEMBER: New installation team came out this week to fix the leaks and clear the silicone. Yes they did fix one leak but somehow they managed to create a worse problem and last night water flooded the sunroom so much that the furniture was sitting in an inch of water - I so wish I could upload images. This installation has been both disappointing and stressful. I have had to time time off work while team after team over months and months have called out, I worry and have to mop up water every time it rains, furniture and carpet has been soaked, silicone is still there plus new sealant dropped on outside patio. I should have taken more notice of the poor reviews and not the '5 star ones'. I truly wish I had never contacted this company.

30 SEPTEMBER 2024: Another team arrived on Friday - I had to take half days leave to supervise. We run a hose pipe on the structure and there were leaks on all 4 corners. The team were amazed that it hadn't been sealed during installation - although one of them had actually put the sunroom together. They sealed the building and put temporary silicone in a corner that the rail had been cut too short on. It should have solved the problem. On the weekend I cleaned up muddy boot prints and more spilled silicone and hoped for the best. This morning I woke up to a half inch of rain flooding the sunroom. I have been trying to contact Sunspaces / Greensquares but no one is answering the telephone.

UPDATE 7 OCTOBER: Same installers came out for the third time last Friday to fit a part and assured me the problem was now rectified. Yesterday it rained and the sunroom was leaking in at least 3 places. The saga goes on.

UPDATE 8 OCTOBER: Still leaking, 2 installers called today and one thought it was condensation. As the 'condensation' is soaking under the rugs and not on top on the rugs, I can safely say that it is not and it is still leaking. Spoke to their 'director' Jarad, and he basically said that my guarantee is worth nothing as after today and they will not be sending out anyone else to fix the leaks.

I guess from this, they are authorising me to arrange to get it rectified and claim back the cost and compensation for inconvenience. They have left me with no alternative.

UPDATE 10 OCTOBER: Sunspace have replied and say the water leaking into the conservatory is condensation - however, I cannot see how there is 'condensation' - only when it rains!

Jarad did inform me that Tuesday was the last time they would be sending out anyone to look at / rectify the issues and, in my opinion, that is voiding the warranty.

I object to Sunspaces calling me aggressive and abusive - the same team has called to the house three times and they informed me that they had to send different teams as their installers are in other parts of the country. I have had other operatives on site when they have called who will confirm that I have not been aggressive and abusive.

However, one their operatives was discourteous to both me and my colleague when they called them an a@@@hole. My friend was, at the time, politely trying to describe how condensation works and that those conditions were not present in the sunspace.

UPDATE 14 SEPTEMBER: Rained again last night and water came in through a number of seams

From the day we enquired about a veranda the service we have received has been first class. Luke was amazing keeping us updated with phone calls and emails. He along with Ben made suggestions, such as bungalow brackets as we didn’t want to cut into the main house roof. The installation team were amazing and worked so hard in snowy conditions. They fitted it in 3 days and were extremely tidy taking everything away with them. The quality of materials used is excellent.
Having had a conservatory in our previous house which was too hot to use in the summer we are so glad we chose to go for a veranda. We have a glass screen on one side to keep wind and rain off us and it’s just perfect in all weathers. We are extremely happy with our purchase and would highly recommend Sunspaces.

Really pleased with our Aspire+ Verandah that was fitted at the end of May.

All was fitted on-time and as as scheduled in just over a day by a friendly and skilled installation team.

The entire process was seamless and stress free, and everyone has been really impressed by our new outdoor space.

Only one small gripe was lack of communication over pallet removal (which I did myself in the end). Shame as everything else was spot on.

Our Greensquare Sun Room has just been installed and we are “over the moon” with the quality and service. From the outset we have received brilliant service from Luke, their Sales Manager and the team taking us through the various options and costings. We visited their showroom in Merthyr and we were impressed with the quality of the product with excellent service and attention from Ian and Mike.

The installation team, Neil, Chris and Jamie were brilliant and fitted it in 3 days with plenty of cups of coffee and biscuits!

We are so pleased we opted for a Sun Room and not a Conservatory as we can open all the glass doors when it’s hot and close them when there’s rain or wind. The electric Awning is superb as are the spotlights and the Blue Tooth Electric Heater.

I hoped choosing a local company I was supporting welsh business and expected a more personal experience. Ben wasn't a pushy salesman and let us consider other alternatives before making my decision, even untied us to the showroom to see the quality. He was fantastic, that's where everything went down hill. Installation date was shifted 3 times, the language chasing for payments was threatening. I had major leaks over the winter and took over 8 months just to sort them. I held my final payment and was chased and told to pay otherwise they wouldn't finalise the remaining leaks, I reluctantly paid and my fears came true as I'm a further 2 months later and still haven't had them come back. Fantastic quality structures (which is why I've given 2 stars) let down by horrendous customer service. 12 months is a ridiculous time to wait for the issues to be solved. I've now downgraded to 1 star as still haven't received an update as to when my leaks will be solved.

Well, you haven’t actually installed the veranda yet. We have been rescheduled three times so far, so I can’t understand why you are asking the question. Not too impressed.

We’re very pleased with our veranda, which was constructed in 3 days. The administration was a bit slow but the surveyor was excellent and produced detailed plans which enabled the landscapers to construct the patio base with confidence ahead of the job. Craig and Chris who constructed the veranda had great attention to detail, they were cheerful, tidy and considerate and really knew their stuff. They could have done with a better van and removal of pallets has been slow but the end result is just as we hoped and has been much admired.

Our new (3m by 6m) Aspire+ with side gables is a fabulous addition to the house!

The whole process from our initial enquiry - through specification - to installation was prompt and professional. The end result is a really good value, stylish, quality product

Really enjoying our new sunspace. The entire experience from initial contact through to sign off of the finished product was positive and above our expectation. We really disappointed with the after sale service,constant telephone calls and emails have been unanswered. The job that was supposed to take 4 days actually took 4 months, We held the final payment back due to the leak, once it was completed we made the payment and was subsequently offered £200 gift vouchers, we have still not received these vouchers, we would not recommend this company or use again.

After much researching into what might suit our requirements and situation best, we fell upon SunSpaces and in particular their Ultra Veranda.
It is their biggest and boldest structure, but appeared to fit our requirements and looked fantastic.
Jason, the company MD/owner made an initial site visit and talked us through all the possibilities.
If we were going to have a new veranda, we wanted it as usable and 'Wow' as possible, so we bit our teeth and decided upon a structure that would span right across the entire rear of our house - 9 mtr wide and 3 mtr deep - approx 1/3 as a glass room and 2/3 open veranda - to replace our tatty old UPVC conservatory.

We went ahead and placed an order, slightly anxious that the veranda we had decided upon, might be too big or dominant for our garden.
What really helped our decision making process was the amazing set of 3D virtual rendering that we were sent - giving us a real feel for how the veranda would look.
We had laid a new patio area in readiness for installation of the veranda.
After a slight hiccup with an inexperienced installation team, the in-house expert installers came, and within 4 days they had constructed our stunning new glass-room/veranda.
One bit of advice - if you do go ahead with a SunSpace veranda, insist on the in-house fitters. They were great guys - friendly, helpful and a pleasure to have on site.
And as for our veranda - it has simply changed our lives. It is the most beautiful, stunning space to sit (and eat) in. We got ourselves an infra red heater, and have enjoyed sitting in the glass room all the way through winter, cozy, whilst watching all manner of terrible winter weather.
As the weather has improved, we have increasingly slid back all the doors and are living the dream. It feels like we are living in a swanky, beautiful boutique hotel.
Everyone of our friends and family also think it is the most wonderful garden room structure they have ever seen.
And make sure you opt for the LED lights set into the beams - they only further enhance the beauty of the space, as the night draws in.
All our fears about the structure being too big and dominating the garden were unnecessary. It has massively enhanced both our garden and the rear of our house, even though it is a big, bold, very contemporary structure.
Basically, we can't speak highly enough about it - or the company. Communication throughout the whole ordering and installation process has been fantastic.
If you are thinking of getting a new veranda / glass-room, don't go near an old style conservatory - go for one of these structures. We absolutely love ours - It will change your life! And worth every penny!
And the guys at SunSpaces have all been great to work with too.

We had our veranda done in february. It cost us money but we don't regret, it is our life saver for the rainy days. I don't put clothes in and out and monitor weather any more.
The guys that were putting it up were very polite, friendly and approachable. Answered every question with patience. We are happy customers.

Sunspaces worked with us to coordinate our veranda plans with having external wall insulation fitted. They sent a surveyor out and sent over technical drawings to enable our rendering company to put the necessary measures in place to accommodate the veranda. They then coordinated with our landscapers to provide technical details of where to place the footings for the legs. The fitting team were great, really friendly and professional. The veranda is beautiful and really good quality. We had it fitted with heat and UV reflective, slightly tinted glass which is definitely helping to keep our kitchen cooler on warm days. Very excited for our patio to be finished so we can start to enjoy our outdoor living room.

The reason for the low rating is that we were quoted and ordered a sunroom of 4,75m wide, which would have fit perfectly in our space and someone from the back-office decided to reduce the size to 4.65m, without even let us know.

Additionally, they decided to locate the sunroom separated from our fence, and leaving a big gap to it, again without even asking us where we wanted it to be located. They thought that we would have liked to waste all that space (between the fence and the glass room) in our patio so we can clean. When we realised about the wrong location, they fitters showed us their plans (that someone decided to make without communicating to us at all). However, they offered to move it into the right position. This resulted in having to drill our wall again, making 20 unnecessary holes in it. We have a new built and we are not happy about this at all.

The fitters were kind and professional, but when they left the patio was a mess and the garden full of aluminium bits. When we cleaned our patio, we noticed that there were silicone stains all over our tiles (almost new). We had to spend the weekend removing them, we tried every cleaning product, white spirit and lot of scrubbing, still struggle to remove it. It looked like they walked around the patio after stepping on the silicone, so the whole patio was stained.

So, summarising, after spending north of 20k in the sunroom, we received a smaller product than the one we paid for, was located in the wrong place and they messed up all our patio. The company offered to discount £200 for the inconvenience.

We are now adding a glass veranda to the other side of our patio and definitely avoiding this company. Please stay away from them.

The Sunspaces team are professional and friendly. Everything, from our initial enquiry, through the survey and quotation process and on to the actual installation was handled really well. The installation team were fantastic - really friendly, conscientious with great attention to detail and very tidy (all waste being removed once finished). It was obvious that they cared about doing a good job! The Aspire veranda we purchased is a very high quality product and looks fantastic in situ. We would highly recommend Sunspaces as a company.
