I wish I had read the reviews prior to placing an order , I would never has placed an order. I thought they were a more reputable company.

I wish i had read the reviews prior to purchasing,jwcrc's review is similar to mine. I made to purchases, I was a cream material that actually looks yellowish and i was informed to send 2 photos and was also told I that this has printed correctly and that in the future , they recommend that i order a swatch. I just dont understand, cream is a simple color to replicate. And my 2nd order was supposed to be black and white but it turned out to be dark green and cream, which actually matches the GREEN sofa perfectly.

In looking over your communications with our team, I see that the color did not meet your expectation of "cream", but it did print to how the "cream" color is set up in the design file. We always recommend ordering swatches prior to committing to larger orders since colors can translate differently from screen to print and can be subjective from person to person sometimes. I'm not sure I'd even give full star.07 Your polar fleece is so thin and flimsy i hardly can call it fleece. There was so much white salvage border I lost part of my pattern. your colors online don't match at all. For what you charge you are a rip off. I will never order from you again nor will I recommend you to any of my friends

Horrible quality fabric - don't do it!

I ordered 6 different materials from Spoonflower in two different orders. Only one of the materials is useable, and it is not great. All of the fabrics are not very clearly printed, so there is a notable blur to them. I've ordered a lot of material online and never had a bad experience previously, so I was quite surprised. Also, one of the fabrics was supposed to be black, but it arrived blue. I sent a note to customer service. They were very prompt and requested photos. Photos were difficult to share because my phone photos are actually clearer than the actual material due to its autocorrect or something. The note back from them said that the quality is what they expected (not that it was good) and that I should order a swatch before ordering. This might be true with digital printing, and maybe their quality of digital printing is typical- this I don't know. Regardless, i won't be using Spoonflower for anything.

I wanted to love them but I just dont.

I love the print selection but honestly I will not be using again.
1. The fabric is very thin even with the more "premium" fabric upgrade. It can still be used for the skirt I want to make but it will need to be lined which I didnt want to do.
2. The cost is very high per meter and it two weeks to arrive.
3. It was posted with two addresses on the parcel so I spent two days trying to track down my parcel. Customer services didnt get back to me until after I had resolved the issue myself.
4. There is a two inch white border all around the print so I will now need another meter to get all four pattern pieces without a big chunk of white showing in my skirt.

I’ve been both a business and personal…

I’ve been both a business and personal shopper of SPOONFLOWER. I read all these complaints. I have to say.

- is the buyers responsibility to read all fine print such as return policies, cancellations as well as things like shrinkage during print and Wash
- it is the company’s responsibility to POST it so that consumers can review the terms. By clicking to order you agree to all the terms.

Yes it’s true they cannot retroactively give you discount on an order due to pricing sales. But they can give you a coupon for next time.

Yes there is a printing shrink and a washing shrink. The meter or yard you ordered. Is then printed on. With a white border around it. So. If you needed a meter or yard. You do not order just one yard. You order at least 1.5 so you have room for shrink and all printing process. Obviously it’s hard to understand this on a first order. But they do answer all questions asked. They may be a day or two being you asking to them answering but I’ve found this company to be very responsive. And when items don’t show up. If you wait the allotted time and it’s not there. They make it right. With a reprint. Pronto. I highly recommend them.

THEY DO NOT DELIVER

THEY DO NOT DELIVER. I ordered on July 12, but as of July 27 nothing delivered. The postal tracking code shows that my order has been sitting in NC for more than a week, with no update since July 21. I live in VA. Spoonflower customer service has been USELESS - when I complained THEY DID NOTHING BUT TELL ME TO WAIT. They didn't even bother checking with the shipper. Paying and not receiving is a rip off regardless of the beauty of the products

Customer service not serving

Ordered wallpaper I've been eyeing for quite sometime. Two days later am inundated with texts and emails about a 40% off (!) deal on said wallpaper. Contacted SF to request price adjustment and was told that is not possible. They just don't do that. Pushed back requesting they reconsider. I've never encounter a brand who, within reason, wouldn't match their own pricing a few days after an order. Between my projects and my mom's quilting we've spent so much money here for unique items. This experience is so off-putting I will be going out of my way to take my business elsewhere. Love the concept of artist having a means to deliver their designs to the world but with service like this- major ick!

Updated to add: While I understand you can't retroactively apply a discount what you can do is refund the difference which in my case is about $100. As a repeat customer this is an act of good faith I would expect from a reputable brand. It was 2 days not 2 months! This is not a ridiculous request and potential customer should know what they are walking in to. Our chat correspondence has screen shots of my cart today with the 2x6 ft rolls and 2x1 ft rolls both are discounted.

Customer Service Nonexistent

I just reordered fabric that’s the same print and color and it arrived in brown, not pink like the first order, which was made before the software update. I was rebuked for not having purchased enough fabric for the project to begin with and not ordering a second sample for the new order. They offered me Spoon Dollars for the new order but that won’t get me whole because I have to order 3 more yards of what is now brown so I have two matching curtain panels and I bought the fabric on sale and with a Capital One promotion. and now I have a finished curtain panel that I have no idea what I’ll do with 🤦‍♀️. I also just received another order that is 6 inches shy of the 9 yards I actually need and I need 3 yard continuous runs 🙇‍♀️. None of this takes into consideration the delays that result from all of these issues. I’m still waiting to hear back from them as to how they’ll address these shortcomings. I have been underwhelmed worth the customer service; there no way to reach a live human anymore. The one functioning telephone number asks you to leave a message and my chat request for help has gone unanswered as has my email. It’s been 24 hours. Sadly there just isn’t anyone else who has the same print selection but I’m going to go back to buying regular fabric from sellers whenever I’m not doing interior decorating and even then I’m going to try and plan ahead and shop online and locally as this is just too expensive and frustrating, not to mention disappointing.

Today (July 14) I was told that the shrinkage rate of the fabric is within Spoonflower’s stated tolerances but my fabric has not yet been washed. They told me I have to account for the shrinkage that occurs during their printing process?! I am prepared to accommodate the shrinkage expected after I was the fabric but now this? I have to buy a fourth yard to accommodate the shrinkage that occurs during their printing. I have already accounted for the shrinkage for my project which is why I need a full 3 yards, not 2 yards and 30”. The link they reference in their explanation says nothing about needing to take their process into account when calculating fabric needs, just the typical expected shrinkage percentage is listed. Just WOW.

They also agreed to reprint the first fabric so that I have the necessary 6 identical colored yards needed for the previous project.

Poor service for premium goods is not what I expect. I have wasted a lot of time on these issues having spent several thousand dollars on their products in the last 18 months.

I finally heard back from someone more senior than the front line customer support staff. They acknowledged that the shrinkage prior to washing was in fact not on their website. I received a Spoon Dollar credit for the mismatched color fabric as well as the shortage, meaning they credited me a yard of fabric. Unfortunately that still leaves me short of fabric so I either have to come up with a workaround or I have to reorder the 9 yards of fabric.

I will use the credit and begin to source fabric from other places moving forward. It’s just not worth the hassle to me, especially since it’s been a massive time suck needing to remake something I finished and having to come up with a hack for the fabric shortage.

Poor Quality Fabric

I made the mistake of rushing to catch a sale and ordered fabric before receiving my swatches. I decided to try their satin option, but unfortunately, the quality of the fabric was extremely poor—definitely not what I expected. On a positive note, the print turned out perfect - exactly as pictured. However, since Spoonflower doesn’t accept returns, I strongly recommend ordering swatches first to ensure you're happy with the fabric quality before placing a full order.

Satin is a tricky fabric since there are different variations of it out there, but your idea to try swatches is indeed something we support. Product is nearly unusable

Product is nearly unusable. The activated adhesive is very hit or miss, the whole thing about “shrinking” makes corners nearly impossible and apparently shows very low quality material. My wife picked it out for being hardy and water resistant - one pass with a towel and the image ink comes right out. I’ve read alot on Reddit and this site about why you should avoid this overpriced product. I’m a construction tradesperson and this stuff is just awful. Wish we could be refunded.

excellet customer service

I am a surface designer and a sewist. Amber H. was so helpful - she helped me undrstand how spoonflower's measurements work which helped with a large project. It was a great customer service experience.
As far as printing quality, I have used Spoonflower for years and have found the quality to be excellent - with rich colors that are consistant.

Automated customer service in an…

Automated customer service in an industry that’s very particular. Ordered a few hundred dollars in samples to find one I liked. Found a pattern my designer and I agreed on but wanted it textured and on grasspaper. Inquired, was sent a link. Ordered. Received order where the color of the pattern goes from grey beige to brown. Unusable with the rest of the design. Complained and said that it should have been denoted by the customer service rep who sent the new link that it might appear different. They said not returnable and they couldn’t surmise my intent from my messages and they weren’t aware I would order direct from a link (how could I?!). Anyway I was told to pound sand (incidentally a better description of the color of the grasspaper version of the print). No attempt to offer anything else, no discount on a replacement or anything. Just out of luck and $1500

It’s been 8 months since I joined…

It’s been 8 months since I joined Spoonflower. I love it, it give me freedom work-wise. I love the concept of it. I’m glad to be a part of it. Just a bit bummer to compete with AI generated designs and even the royalty overal quite good (10%) comparing to others,i kind of hope there is a different with the royalty percentage between human designs and AI generated. Human designs should get more royalties. It will motivated both parties.

Excellent products

I bought some peel and stick wild peacock wallpaper for my bathroom. It is absolutely amazing and looks exactly as shown on the website. Creates such a statement in the bathroom. I also bought some buffalo print material for a duvet cover I’m going to make. Again, beautiful quality. I love how you can just pick the pattern and then pick whatever material you want to have it on- such a brilliant idea and excellent customer service. Material to recover a chair, but when I received it, the colours were slightly off as depicted on the website so they refunded everything no problem instantly!!! I just wish living in Canada I didn’t have to pay the exchange and the duty.!!!!
