The experience of coming into this Aquarium was one of calmness and tranquility. We were assisted by Natalia who was extremely attentive and helpful along with being incredibly knowledgeable about the type of fish we wanted to purchase. Excellent customer service from beginning to end making our experience better than expected . We are looking forward ti visiting again very soon . Thank you Natalia.

As a novice aquarium owner (inherited a stocked tank from a friend 6 months ago) I know very little about keeping fish but keen to do the right thing and keep them healthy
Visited Sunday where myself and husband met Phil, he was really helpful with my queries and offered lots of good advice about my algae build up.
We came away with some new plants and a couple of bristlenose catfish to help the existing hillstream loaches keep the algae down.
Got home put the plants in and realised the water was cold, the heater had stopped working 🙄
Monday saw a return visit where I met Gary who was equally as helpful helping me buy a suitable replacement, he also chatted about different things and offered lots of general advice.
As a newish owner, there's lots of conflicting advice on line about keeping the tank and contents in optimum condition.
Both staff members were friendly, approachable, non-judgemental and obviously very knowledgeable about their subject.
They didn't make me feel I was asking stupid or obvious questions, and I came away feeling very reassured - both also left me with the offer of any further advice or support I may need

Max was very helpful he was very professional and polite max was very good at his job

I ordered a large 6 foot tank from them. From start to finish the ourchase, financing, deluvery and installation was flawless. Highly recomend the team and store.

Me and my partner went to Shirley as we were interested in getting a bearded dragon. The staff were all lovely, especially Paul! He was really helpful and you can tell he has a lot of love for the animals in his care. He gave us all the information we needed, he built the tank ready for us to take home and gave us excellent recommendations. I would 100% shop here again.

I visit Shirley Aquatics most weekends. Mainly for live food, a chat and advice. I'm considering redesigning my tank and the other half that has a beta tank to set up. Alice has always been very helpful. Both with sevice and ideas for set ups. I'm currently drawing inspiration from the small tanks she set up and planted. Just on the left as you enter the shop.

I visited Shirley Aquatics on Saturday to get some more fish. i needed advice to know what would get on with the fish already in my tank. Max was so helpful. He was really polite but fun and really informative telling me things I really didn’t know. He was really enthusiastic and gave some great advice. After I had time to really look and think Sophie came to get the fish I wanted. She was really friendly and didn’t rush me and when I had a query was happy to try to find the right thing that would be best for my tank. she also served me at the till, was very kind and efficient. Thanks both.

My daughter has been obsessed with shrimp tanks and fell in love with a display tank. Alice and Gemma were awesome with Gemma making a replica tank and Alice being super helpful and giving great advice. Fantastic staff that went over and above for us. 6 months later shrimp are multiplying and a very happy tank and daughter. Thank you so much.
Gone back today and daughter has just purchased beautiful second tank. Alice really welcoming, super helpful and gave great suggestions. Lovely attention to detail and carrying out water checks and adjustments to what shrimps needed. Thanks again

We came to Shirley aquatics today to purchase some fish and was helped by the best assistant EVER, Max. He was really cool, really informative and made buying fish fun! Great guy. Deserves a bonus 😊

It was an absolute pleasure to purchase a baby musk turtle from Shirley Aquatics from the first communications on the phone, to having the pleasure to meet Tegan, who could not have been more helpful for all the questions that I had on the upkeep of our new little friend.
Since returning with our new addition to the family, I have been really impressed with the communication since we got home with emails and text messages on how to look after our turtle.
We will definitely be using Shirley Aquatics again in the future.

Delivered on time and was well packaged. Fish were in excellent condition. Cannot fault this company and they are now my go to supplier.

Genuinely disappointed.
A tried, trusted Family Business I have used for some time and spent more than £500 with in the last few months sold me a second-hand Blagdon Affinity Mocha Corner Fish Pond 'as-seen' though no mention was made of being 'not fit for purpose.'
My rescued Goldfish has outgrown 2 tanks (> £300) in 6 months and is choking due to Algae.
Shirley Aquatics recommended I go for an outdoor Pond as they had a special offer on the Blagdon Affinity; an ex-demo - to solve the issue.
Paid £300 for the Pond and filtration system including UV filter and set it up at home; noticing the UV filter transformer was damaged - not something I could even see when I bought it. Plugged it in and the UV Transformer tripped the electrics. Clear damage to the Transformer but of course, even had it worked - I would not be able to 'SEE' the UV inline filter working as it is permanently shielded.
Repeated calls promising a call-back; finally 2 days later the salesperson agrees I should be able to swap it out with another spare they have at Shirley Aquatics; Employee then speaks to Manager / Owner who says 'nope - will have to buy a new one from them - it was all sold as seen.'
Totally irresponsible - the pond could have been filled with chemicals and I would not have 'seen' it - but of course they clean it out because it is implicit that it will be SAFE and fit-for-purpose; just as the filtration system and UV filter should have been 'fit-for-purpose' and specifically should be warding of the precise issue I have with Algae for my rescued fish.
Cannot say how disappointed I am; my neighbours keep Tropical Fish and recommended them; and spend hundreds every year there; My neighbours = my best friends; they will undoubtedly do the same as me; take our business elsewhere.
How incredibly short-sighted; I was looking to buy more fish, maintenance gear and spares from them having just spent another £100 on chemicals and plants. Clearly they neither care about there customers nor about the fish.
Genuinely, a display of short-sightedness that makes me wonder how they're still in business.
Appalling service; absolutely recommend you look elsewhere.
Will be approaching the relevant consumer watchdogs.
