Seymour’s have been very patient with us as we have touched base every few years to check out the local market. On finally finding a house we loved they helped sell our house within two days at asking price. Super friendly, easy to chat to and nice that they are local and know the area very well.

I recently purchased my first house with my partner and had a fantastic experience with Seymours throughout my buying process. Jeff was great, showing us around multiple properties and providing a excellent knowledge of the area and the houses themselves. The bid process was seamless and sorted within days was ideal because we wanted to move quickly when we found the house we liked. Then the whole process thereafter was handled brilliantly by Sandra who responded to all queries promptly. Overall a great experience and we're so happy with the house - would definitely recommend!

As a company, Seymours have been supportive and helpful throughout.

An agent with the Guildford branch mislead me about the accessibility of an apartment, telling me that the clearly visible lift in the stairwell should be working by the time I moved in. I found out two weeks into the tenancy that there were never any plans to fix it whatsoever.

I contacted them immediately about the mistake and said I wanted to have the contract cancelled, and they ignored me for a full month. After one month and a follow-up email, they said they would allow an early termination but would force me to pay the landlord's fees in relisting the apartment + rent for the month I spent waiting on them. I said this was unacceptable, and they came back several weeks later saying they would sign a surrender agreement on my chosen date, now requiring me to pay 2 months of rent, only to walk that offer back a few days later and try to add a confidentiality clause preventing me from ever mentioning that this had happened. I said I wasn't comfortable doing that (and you have to wonder how many people have been bullied out of speaking publicly about experiences like this one), but gave them a date on which I would be vacating the property regardless of outcome - since I had already planned to move into a new apartment on that date, given their earlier communication.

They booked a checkout process, tried to book a viewing, then cancelled their own checkout process and are now claiming I would only be refunded any rent paid up to the date the landlord agrees to sign the surrender agreement, which is likely to be at minimum 3 months of rent for the privilege of being stuck in an inaccessible apartment and waiting for them to respond to my emails.

The PR team who monitor feedback on this website respond pretty quickly to poor reviews, but the agents who deal with your issues will not. Consistently terrible organisation, improperly trained staff, and no respect for their tenants. Renting from Seymours was an extremely expensive mistake.

The team at the Lightwater office kept us informed through the initial stages and subsequent viewings. They achieved a lot of viewings in a short period. Krisy Ehret our client relationship manager once offer accepted was outstanding in her support.

Like many of the other rental customers who have left reviews I urge you never to rent through this company. We repeatedly reported maintenance issues that they took no action on, including black mold. This had a major effect on our health. Their own workmen recommended works that would have resolved that problem, and were ignored. When we moved out, they tried to charge us for issues that were noted on our move IN inventory, issues that we had reported and they had not fixed, and imaginary things like furnishings in an unfurnished flat. I have rented two flats from them in the past and at both, when it came to viewings for new prospective tennants, they let themselves in without permission- at the first property they let themselves in while I was in the shower after turning up 45min late (thus we assumed the visit was cancelled), at the second despite reminding them of this incident and stating that I was super anxious about it happening again, they did it again. We ended up barricading our front door to feel safe enough to wash or sleep. They are dishonest and disrespectful, they fail entirely to communicate with each other, and they try to take money they are not entitled to. Avoid like the plague, especially landlords who may end up liable to their tenants for the harm Seymours cause with their negligence, as they are openly planning to rent the mold-infested flat we have just left out again untreated and not-redecorated. It can only be a matter of time before someone dies from their negligence, don't let it be you.

Poor service and unparalleled arrogance from the biggest but certainly NOT the best agency. My experience with Seymours has been frustratingly and shockingly dreadful. As managing agents, they are so slow to action property complaints and then behave as though they are doing you a favour. The letting agents have no regard for your time and cancel AFTER the last minute, if they bother at all, or just don’t care enough to show up on time to show a property and then they don’t even have the decorum to offer an apology because of course, you aren’t worthy of their time. Seymour’s are, without a doubt, bullies in the industry who trample over smaller agencies and scrabble to get a few hundred pounds in fees that they did not earn or deserve. Appalling and I hope that I never have the misfortune to deal with Seymours again in any capacity.

MY RESPONSE TO SEYMOURS REPLY: WOKING WAS OUR MANAGING AGENT AND WERE COMPLETELY USELESS AND WHEN WE MOVED WE DEALT WITH A NUMBER OF AGENTS FOR VARIOUS PROPERTIES THAT WE WANTED TO VIEW AND THE ATTITUDE OF YOUR AGENTS IS LESS THAN SUB PAR.

Great service from the whole team at Seymours Haslemere. We had a number of challenges with our purchase and found the team to be proactive, communicative, transparent and organised. Special thanks to Paige and Joss for their support and professionalism throughout. Prior to buying our property, we also attended a number of viewings with Seymours, who were always punctual and well-informed.
