worst experience especially as this was for our first home
no email the night before as promised with a delivery slot. had to call them the day of delivery twice for this info and still never got sent any tracking. never got a call to say they were on the way they just turnt up at our house expecting us to be there even though i told them on the phone we do not live there yet, we were told not to worry we would be called half hour before - we were not
not when we ordered the sofas in store there would be additional charges for the breakdown of the sofa to get it into the room - happy to tell us about additional add on's though such as the care insurance package! called and was passed back and forth from head office to the store both sides saying the other was responsible and in the end never got any kind of resolution from them. will never by a sofa from them again!

We finally had our sofa and footstool delivered today and wow it was definitely worth the wait. It is absolutely beautiful and the colour we choose is stunning. I would say be prepared for an early rise as it was delivered very very early. We was woken extremely early at 6.48 am to be precise by one of the delivery drivers to inform us that they would be with us within an hour subject to traffic. They arrived at 7.37 am, two very nice men that put the sofa together in no time. Both very polite and cleared away all the cardboard. Thank you very much, shame I cannot send you a photo x

Great delivery service. They took their shoes off too, which should be a given with all deliveries inside a property. Very pleased with the whole service.

Order came in earlier than expected. Was kept updated with delivery and able to track on day. Delivery team were excellent, professional, respectful, pleasant and happy to answer any questions. The item was perfect amd looks to be good quality.

I had a great experience with Simon and Stuart, the SCS delivery drivers, this morning. They called about an hour before arriving to give me an idea of when to expect them, which was really helpful. The delivery itself was excellent—they unpacked everything, set it up carefully, and made sure nothing was damaged. Both of them were professional and considerate throughout. I’d happily recommend them to anyone.

After a very long wait from ordering our new sofas we were very please with the delivery service, from the detailed timings and constant up dates. The delivery guys were very polite and curious at all times and respectful of our property.

The guys were very friendly, quick and tidy. They took all the rubbish away with them and I honestly can’t fault them at all.

Sofas ordered in February, 6 months later and I still don't have them and am repeatedly phoning to chase. The Sales team were initially helpful and professional, but after that it has been diabolical. I've phoned or visited the store a total of probably 40 times, maybe more. The majority of reviews here are excellent, but if I'd known what this was going to be like, I'd never have bothered. Honestly, save yourself the hassle.

The sofas were in the distribution centre in May, in line with the lead time they'd initially advised. I was at my house in Cornwall for 2 weeks after that waiting to take delivery, but it eventually took over a MONTH of phoning to get even a notification from the couriers! Each time they said 'you'll definietly hear back within 48 hours'.

In July a delivery was 'attempted', I was away and had arranged someone to be there on my behalf. They wanted a disclaimer signed before even taking the sofa off the lorry, saying any damage was my fault. Ridiculous and unacceptable.

In the house, the sofas had to go through a narrow doorway. I tried to explain on the phone to an impatient delivery courier that the sofa had to be tilted forward to get it through, but they didn't even try. I had no option but to 'refuse delivery' and the sofas returned to the distribution centre (a crazy 300 miles away).

To be on the safe side, I asked for a dismantle service, where the sofas are delivered to a nearby store, partially dismantled, then delivered and assembled in the room. At an additional cost of some £400.

That was the 18th of July. I was told the sofas would go to Plymouth the following Friday and that the dismantler would be coordinated for 'shortly after that'. In early August I was in Cornwall again in anticipation... nothing.

It's now approaching the end of August. Apparently the sofas went on a day-trip to the Plymouth SCS store, only to get rejected as (presumably) they weren't aware of them coming. Sofas back to Coventry. More delays.

Last week I decided enough was enough. I'm fed up with chasing and now just want a refund. I wanted the sofas before the summer, which clearly hasn't happened. The refund hasn't happened either, instead I've had a degree of urgency (finally... 6-months after the order!!) from the store and promises of a delivery 'next week'. I won't hold my breath. The sofas are currently in Coventry... won't be in Plymouth until next week at the earliest, and then the dismantler needs to be arranged...

If you've read this far, well done. I needed to vent :)

Buying a sofa and armchair is my first experience of ScS. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. From going into store and benefitting from Adam's customer service, to calling Customer Services with an enquiry who were polite and helpful, through to the delivery of my furniture today by the friendly and professional team of Alex and Josh, it's been a great experience. Thank you ScS.

18 months ago I bought a carpet from the Basildon store of SCS Apparently since then they have stopped selling carpets . It wasn’t a cheap carpet £1500 but it looks terrible where it’s been walked on the pile looks flat and matted like a really old shag pile. We never wear shoes indoors and vacuum it twice at least a week , customer service are ignoring me . I’ve emailed them twice with no response and sent photos . I’m disgusted! I know there’s a warranty but have no details . They are great at taking your money but when something is wrong they ignore you . I would never buy anything from them again ! Avoid like the plague .
Update I received a call about this . Apparently the manufacturer only gives a warranty for 12 months so there’s nothing they can do do . I should have complained earlier! The guarantee shown on the sample in the showroom was certainly for way longer than 1 year or I would NEVER HAVE CHOSEN IT . I will be contacting trading standards as this carpet is not fit for purpose . It should come with a warning .this carpet is for show only . Do not walk on it . If you do it will look awful and we won’t do anything about it. It’s on the floor how can I avoid walking on it?
